I don't have a Switch and probably won't be getting one any time soon, but it's still exciting to see what new designs they have come up for Gen 8. I just hope they won't reveal like half the new Pokémon before its release like last time... It's more fun to discover something when you don't have any expectations.
Ack, probably not going to have a Switch (for a long time), but I still hope the new ones will be cool.
They keep hyping it up that Gen 8 is really and truly going to be for the fans, and that promise gives me chills... I'm beyond excited to see what they come up with because I've already beaten BOTW and Odyssey and am looking for a new adventure set out on with my switch!
Well, considering it's going to be a new generation, I would hope that they would have 'many new pokémon'. I'm really excited to see what they come up with. And I'm also eager to see where the (hopefully) new region will be based off of. My hope is Russia, or India, or, ooh, Australia. Just think of the potential pokémon ideas. I'm so psyched!
I damn well hope it's going to be an entirely different title. TPC has a really bad habit of really overhyping the heck out of things, which... I suppose is smart from a business perspective, but still...
Whenever or not they'll be able to get it out in 2019 remains to be seen since they showed nothing from it which they either did because there's nothing to show yet or to avoid the focus getting removed from Let's Go.
^ Likely to avoid focus being removed from Let's Go. No reason for them to show any kind of footage yet (if any) because people just flat-out wouldn't bother with Let's Go if they saw anything about the next core Pokémon games.
Oh my gosh your comment just made me figure out what the new gen 8's going to be, Pokémon Breath Of The Wild! Best idea ever. I hope they do this someday but its probably not going to be gen 8. I really hope they put in a lot of effort into the Pokémon designs so we don't get some lazy designs. They should take note as to what the community makes in fakemon and maybe incorporate those Pokémon into the game too. Still wishful thinking, but I can dream.
I’m really, really looking forward to a new core game for the switch. I know I shouldn’t be hyping up my expectations but the way the Switch console is turning out, it’s hard not to! In my opinion: the Switch is truly FOR the fans. More than any other console Nintendo has created. BOTW and Odyssey are obviously the most notable, Xenoblade 2 just received DLC that could even be sold as its own game, the Smash community is receiving a game WITH ALL THE CHARACTERS (which is like... a dream come true for me and a lot of other people. Not to go without mentioning Ridley), and even the Mario party folks are getting a return back to their more classic style of gameplay. Something the fans have been asking for for a very long time. I think Nintendo really is doing a phenomenal job in terms of analyzing and reassessing what makes a good game. I really believe the core Pokémon games are in some good hands so I’m not too worried.
I think what we're gonna get with Pokémon '19 is a giant homage to fans. My hopes are for them to bring back a lot of the old areas from past games (Battle Frontier etc.) I also think they're gonna add a lot to the table in terms of Pokémon battles (maybe even add fan-favorite Megas.) I just wish I had a Switch to play it on.
I'm excited for gen. 8 but the mentioning of many new Pokémon doesn't really contribute to this, unless they're all actually cool and creativ but that's hard too say for now. But I'm hyped nonetheless, and excited about the hopefully many new ideas they put into this game.
I hope they add more Pokémon than the past couple generations. It used to be a series tradition to have at least 100 new Pokémon each generation but then they just kind of stopped doing that. I know coming up with new ideas can be hard, but they have more and more people to design Pokémon as time goes on, so it seems like they should still be able to meet that quota.
