"I don't know how much more we can take!" Maria cried, as she used her katana to hold herself up.

Leon brushed off the burning he received from the Eruption, and he knew that Michelle could destroy all of them. Worried still, he prepared one of his healing balms for Seline, and also rushed to defend her if needed. But between defending all of his friends, it was a hard choice for him.

 

Something in Leon's heart made him feel bad, that Michelle had not only taken a blow for Corsola, but that a Heart charm - presumably Michelle's - had been destroyed before her eyes. As much as he wanted to attack Maxie, there was Michelle to worry about. Not to mention that she looked like she couldn't stand.

I think we have to stop Ian first before anything bad happens, Evergreen said, as she stood on one knee.

I agree... Maria held up her katana cautiously.

 

"Then you know you can't win." Leon held his bow up, and then added a whisper, "Come back to us."

Evergreen stared at Leon, and then Maria and Seline. It seemed difficult to proceed from now, and the question was what now?

(And what about Corsola?)

 

(Go for a fifth round of combat? Or will she faint soon?)

 

(Haha okay. Maxie can wait)

Leon looked at Corsola's eyes, and then to Michelle again. He didn't have the will to fire at his wife, and doing so would be a huge problem. Instead, he aimed just a little to the right and fire. The arrow shot through a bit of Michelle's hair.

Maria, Evergreen, and Belle stared. This was hopeless: Michelle wasn't going to fight, but neither was she letting them help her.

 

"Leon...! We can't fight like this!" Maria shouted.

"You're right. We can't." Leon nodded and then looked at Evergreen. "Evergreen, get Michelle over here now! And everyone, group up! We're going to retreat."

After Evergreen had used psychic power to bring Michelle's limp body close, and Ian and Hao had gotten close too, Leon reached out his hand. This was the first time he used this ability, but now it was needed more than ever.

"Leaf Cloak..." he muttered, and a wall of leaves came and swept the group out of sight. With the massive distraction, the group was able to leave Myokara undetected.

The group had been swept to a small beach outside Myokara, with gentle waves hitting the shore once in a while, and cliffs overlooked the beach to give the group cover.

Michelle was not unnoticed, though, and even Evergreen agreed with Corsola. I agree. We should tie her up.

Maria looked at Leon, who was offering Seline a handful of healing balm. All he said was, "I'll do it myself." He then took a small amount of rope from his bag and tied Michelle's hands together. "Keep watch over her, Evergreen."

 

"To be honest, I don't really know," Maria sighed. "We're stuck. Agh. Where is Kiseki and Kirito when we need them?"

Leon offered his share of healing balm to Azelia, as he petted Corsola with his free hand and looking at Michelle. "There has to be a way where we can fight off the Fire Mages. Michelle, of all people, is mixing up with them again."

Do you still love her, though? She basically betrayed you. Evergreen muttered.

"I'm sure. After all, I'm doing this for her," Leon replied. "As are all of us."

 

Oh... you're awake now. Evergreen said telepathically.

[You could help her out by wiping her tears, you know!] Belle squeaked. She conjured a leaf for Evergreen to use.

Evergreen rested her hand on Michelle's shoulder, and then used the leaf to carefully clean up Michelle's eyes. Calm down! We've retreated outside the village for now, and Leon is also right here. She looked at Leon, who watched Michelle intently.
