To me I dont really care whatever gender my Pokémon turns out to be. I only really care when nicknaming them.
The only time I've cared about my Pokémon's gender was in Let's Go Pikachu, where I wanted a female Pikachu to fit the nickname I gave it, Bella. Fortunately I only had to reset the game once to get one!
For the most part I don't really care, though I do tend to associate some Pokémon with a certain gender and get thrown off when I end up using one that's the opposite (such as my male Gardevoir in Emerald). Other than that I don't really care unless I'm breeding.
I depends on the gen. Gen 6 and prior, gender is important for breeding, after that it's not as important. To be honest, it depends on the Pokémon and what I'm trying to do. I typically only like training male primarina and then naming them "manly" names like Bob, Frank, and Joe. Why? Because I find it hilarious and it tends to mess with people. Other than that I usually only take it into consideration for naming. All I care about is how much fun my Pokémon and I are going to have on our journey.
Only for breeding, even when namin I don't care, I just name them all Lenny or something ridiculous, regardless of gender. I like the idea though of naming Pokémon designed to look female some names like Bob, Frank and, Joe. I think it would be hilarious.
I like to SR for female starters generally, not for any particular reason other than I like them. Lately I've had a soft spot for female Incineroar, I like Pokémon species that look primarily masculine or feminine but still allow for different genders. For the most part I'll take any genders thrown my way unless I have something in mind that I'm naming the Pokémon after.
Never really had a care about the gender of my catches. Nicknames, forme, evolutions... Couldn't care less. Admittedly, I can be a bit stubborn on the point of 'any Pokémon can be used', so I'll end up muddling through training things like male combee in a nuzlocke spitefully.
I only care about Pokémon gender when I'm doing a gender specific run. Other than that, I don't really care about the gender of the Pokémon I catch. What ever I catch works. I've breaded eevees before and let me tell you, that gender ratio is really unforgiving. Now I absolutely love female eevees, and go out of my way to get them because of how valuable and rare they are. You do not know how many times I've agonized over getting high IV eevee males without being able to get a replacement for my female breading eevee.
The only time I really care about my Pokémon's gender is when I name them. I try to fit the name with the gender if I can. I'm not really picky on which gender goes on my team, though.
Depends a bit, with Pokémon with major differences between the genders I will go for a preferred one (For example I like the darker necks on Male Doduos) but I also enjoy getting off norm genders for certain Pokémon. For example: Female Machop line, Male Lopunny etc.
No not really unless I'm building a team after what one of my OCs have since they already have set genders, but outside of that no since that could make things take extra long. Only exception to this being when I bred Riolus and for some reasons really wanted a female, the gender ratio was not working in my favor there, got several males before I got a female with the IVs I needed.
Unless it's relevant to the evolution or some other thing, I don't care. I mean, the gender doesn't have other influences, so I don't care about the gender of my Pokémon.
Like most, unless I'm looking for a specific gender for evolution reasons or something, it doesn't matter. In fact the only time I look at the gender for any other Pokémon is to nickname them, and even then I have a tendency to forget... pretty much immediately.
I do have genders that I prefer for most all Pokémon, but I still usually catch just the first Pokémon that I encounter. Unless they're ones with very clear and obvious visual gender differences, in which case I would definitely look for the preferred gender.
As for myself, I don't really care about genders unless it's for something like Wedlocke or specific-gendered evolution. Fortunately, my challenge runs so far don't really rely on genders, so I end up taking whichever comes first. I only fuss about genders when it comes to nicknames, though.
