Since you're here from a good break, and since I'm here after a very long break, I might as well.

Do you have a specific favorite from the Mario, Zelda and Kirby franchises each? And if so, what are they?
Is there a game that you heard about that sounded really good, but you never got to play it, and you still want to even to this day?
The question has to be asked. Cinnamon or butterscotch?

    1. My favorites from those three series are Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask, and Kirby Triple Deluxe.

    2. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, but it’s close to impossible to find a copy under $100. The secondhand value for the game has been increasing for years, so I might have to save up some money before it becomes scarce.

    3. Cinnamon for sure.

If the Fire type of Pokémon had a direct opposite, what do you think it should be? Water, Ice, or something else?

How much trust do you put in star signs and the zodiac etc in predicting people's traits?

Who is your favorite video game villain, and who do you think is a good example of a villain who (mostly?) reached their goals?

    1. I’m going to go with the cliché answer of ice. Cold is the opposite of hot after all.

    2. Not much. I find the idea that personality traits being linked with one’s month of birth to be odd.

    3.
Goro Akechi from Persona 5 is easily my favorite video game antagonist. Unlike a lot of other twist villains, Goro gets lots of screen time. He isn’t some obituary character that shows up a couple of times throughout the story. Rather, you get to see him form a genuine bond with Joker. It also helps that his English voice actor did a great job before and after the reveal.
I never really thought about this until I got all of the major endings, but Eve basically got what he was after. The only reason he captured 9S was to see the emotional response from 2B. Not only did she respond strongly, but she also gave him the opportunity to experience what death was like (which he mentioned wanting to see in his final words).

Realizing that suddenly gave me more respect for Nier:Automata’s writing.SPOILER]

I can't remember which brother is which, so I'm going to call them short-hair and long-hair. So, I never really saw that as the endgame to long-hair's plan, though though that was a part of it. I thought his plan was (on the way to completing the launch cannon) to further crush 2B's an YorHa's hope by way of showing how powerless the androids are compared to his generation of machines, while while the emotional evocation was just a side effect for him to get his jollies and further confirmation of his beliefs. "Look how much these simple beings cling to one another, they simply can't function alone, so they scurry to one another out of desperate fear!", with the counter to that being short-hair-brother's response to 2B when his own brother is killed: i.e. flipping the hecc out just like 2B did when 9S was taken from her. tl;dr, I felt like evoking an emotional response was just-for-fun bonus to crushing YorHa, while accidentally proving that his species (or some individuals in it) are subject to the same emotional reactions and aren't so special after all. BUT! I think that your understanding is also very possible, and without interrogating the remnants of long-hair-brother's mind, we may never know for sure! Who can really understand another?

So that makes me thing of a new question to start off with: Do you think in our real world with our real laws of physics and existence, machines/robots/computers will ever become advanced enough that they are truly conscious and perhaps have souls, despite having not a single biological cell (or at least animal-cell as far as Nier is concerned) in their physical being?

I've never played a Persona game before. Do you have a recommendation on one I should try to track down and play first?

Are Final Fantasy games overrated, underrated, or something else?

    1. Absolutely. While I don’t think A.I. will be able to have human-like senses anytime soon, I believe sentience is only an inevitability.

    2. If you’re fine with dated graphics, Persona 3 Portable is a decent option. It keeps the original’s story intact while improving the gameplay in just about every way. I wouldn’t recommend the other versions of P3 though because you cannot control your party members (except the protagonist of course). Otherwise, I’d suggest waiting until Persona 5: The Royal comes out.

    3. Of the handful of Final Fantasy games I’ve tried (4, 6, 10, 12, and 15), I think the series is average at worst and great at best. It varies quite a bit between title though.

This is a popular opinion, but I’d not fond of radioactive green. Shinies like Tauros, Spearow, and Espeon just don’t look appealing to me. Second place would be the worn out shade of yellow that Noctowl has.

Aside from the sage grouse, I am really partial to bottlenose dolphins.

I'd choose the sage grouse. The gimmick of the toy would be petting its head to produce that distinct chirp.

    1. I’d love to see GameFreak’s take on a gargoyle. Perhaps it could be a rock/ghost type?

    2. American history from the 1830s to the 1890s is easily my favorite era to learn about. The Industrial Revolution, Civil War, and Abraham Lincoln fascinate me to no end.

An omniscient being lets you ask them one question - any question. They will answer it truthfully and brutally honestly, leaving out no details. There are no strings attached. What question will you ask? How do you think you'll live with the answer you'll think you'll get?

Since this being would most likely know anything and everything, I’d probably ask it what’s the greatest thing it’s ever seen. If the answer was underwhelming, I would probably just move on.

He could’ve changed the default background to a color combination of neon green and bright yellow. Then he could swap the name of the different forums sections around. For example, a link saying “The Lounge” would actually take you to “Forum Games.”
