Evergreen blushed. "Not that I try to..." she muttered and looked behind to see Pikachu. "Aw, come on, buddy. Don't be sad. You're cute too." She would have really liked to pick up Pikachu and hug him, but she had one hand occupied with holding the shopping bag.

They continued to walk in the cave, which was well lit by the tunnel entrances. It appeared that the tunnel was not too deep either.

 

"Well, we might have a chance to try his skills if we get the chance..." Evergreen said. Then she was reminded of something. "Oh! By the way, I got you something." She opened her purse to give Kirito a Heart charm. "The SBC trader told me it was free of charge."

But just outside the tunnel's entrance was a commotion. It appeared that there was a fight of some sort going on where a young couple was being robbed by some thieves. The thieves looked similar to the ones Kirito and Evergreen had fought before.

 

Evergreen followed Kirito's gaze. "They look... familiar."

There were two thieves and one rogue attacking the young couple and they were forcing them to hand over their belongings in exchange for passage into the cave. However, upon seeing Kirito and Evergreen emerge from the cave, one of them took notice of the shopping bag. "Hey! Let's steal that one! That one is bigger."

Evergreen glared. She held the shopping bag closer to her. "No way!" she said.

 

"I need to protect the shopping bag," Evergreen said to Kirito. "But I'll stay back to support you and Pikachu. That okay, Kirito?"

 

Evergreen didn't know what came over her, but she quickly pressed a kiss to Kirito's cheek. "Good luck," she said, then she stepped back, but not before stealing a look a Pikachu who looked very cute.

(The party encounters Skull Thieves x2 and Skull Rogue x1!)

Evergreen was always ready to use Heal Pulse if ever necessary. She barely used it in the past, save for that adventure with Maria, but it was always handy to keep. She stayed focused on the battle and protecting the shopping bag.

As the thieves made their retreat, Evergreen quickly went forward to attend to Kirito. "Are you okay? Can you stand?" she said, worried. She went to support him.

 

Evergreen slung Kirito's arm over her shoulder. "You really need a break. Do you need to see a cleric?" she asked.

They made their way to Koniko Town, although Evergreen was having her work cut out for helping Kirito while also towing the shopping bag.

 

(I'm open to ideas. Go for it)

"But you're hurt," Evergreen said. "Oh, alright. If you really want to." She left Kirito on his own and attended to the shopping bag.
