    Monthly Creatémon Challenge
    June 2020

    What Is The Creatémon Challenge?

The Creatémon (that's "Create-A-'Mon") Challenge is a new monthly event where you, the wonderful members of Lake Valor, can work on creating your own Pokémon that fits within a certain theme that changes from month to month.

    How To Participate

Including artwork of your Pokémon idea is recommended and any art-style works, though if you feel that you lack artistic ability, then you can include a description instead (note that you are unlikely to score very well without some sort of visual accompaniment, though). In addition to this, you'll also want to add other details to go with it. The only required information that you'll need are a name and typing, but you can also add abilities, it's move-set, height, weight, egg group, stats, evolutions or pre-evolutions, alternate forms, associated held items, or anything else you can think of.

    Other Rules & Regulations

    • All submissions must follow the rules of Lake Valor. This mostly means that you shouldn't include anything offensive or NSFW.
    • Entries can be worked on by groups. If you want to work in a group, then choose one member of your group to submit your entry, compiled into a single post and crediting everyone in your group with what exactly each of you did.
    This Month's Theme: Fossil Pokémon

Ever since the original Pokémon Red and Green, there have been certain rare Pokémon available only (or primarily) by reviving them from special fossils you can find through the course of your journey. These Pokémon are based off of ancient lifeforms that have been extinct for millions of years in the real world, usually feature a two-stage evolution line, and until Sword and Shield they were always part Rock type. Official fossil Pokémon currently include: Omanyte, Kabuto, Aerodactyl, Lileep, Anorith, Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga, Archen, Tyrunt, Amaura, Dracozolt, Dracovish, Arctozolt and Arctovish.

    Prizes:

    1st Place: 100 pp
    2nd Place: 75 pp
    3rd Place: 50 pp
    Consolation Prize: 10 pp

All Entries Must Be Submitted By Sunday, June 28th at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time. Any posts made after that point in time will be disqualified. The voting thread will be opened shortly after that.

And this is what happens when I can't make up my mind of what to draw. It ended up looking better than I thought it might.
    Siber2.jpg Siber, the lone Pokémon.
    Typing: Grass/Ice.
Pokédex entry: Siber is an artificial Pokémon made from the combined DNA of two ancient enemy Pokémon. Siber travels alone, because when it sees other Pokémon of its kind, it automatically assumes it's an enemy and attacks.
    Because I can.

This Pokémon is based off of two extinct animals, saber tooth large cats, and a dire wolf. I couldn't decide which one to do, so I did both. This is also based off of Galar's fossil Pokémon, which I know I'm not the only person who was unimpressed with the designs. I think the idea of taking two different fossils and throwing them together is pretty cool, but you have to integrate the designs together. That's what I tried to do here. The brown/green parts (of the original, not the shiny) come from the saber tooth Pokémon, while the blue/white parts are the dire wolf Pokémon. I'm hoping I did decent at combining them.
I had some extra time, so I decided to design the fossils that Siber came from.
Siber fossils.jpg The top one is the tuft fossil, and the bottom is the fur fossil.

Fossil Pokémon are some of my favorite Pokémon in the game, So I was excited to draw some of my own.

Protosceptre and Triscepter are Rock Fairy type Pokémon, knwn as the Trike Mage Pokémon.
They can have Pixelate or Intimidate as their abilities.
Protosceptre: these young Pokémon usually gather in groups around a senior Trisceptre in order to master their own skills. Before they evolve they like to spend a year alone practicing their skills.
Trisceptre: Trisceptre work with others in their community in order to protect and defend the young. when they have reached a high level, they usually become teachers to instruct the next generation.

And because Fossils usually come in pairs I drew a friends fossil design, which doesn't count as an entry, but enjoy anyway.
