IKR? And I fear, looking at SW/SH's online issues, how bad the Underground would be if it was implemented as the main games are looking now. Made it to Solceon Town and in the Ruins. I'm going to catch every Unown I run across, as that ups the chances on Hippopatas later on. I only got two, but I want to 10 or so for a decent 10% spawn. So I'm going to head back and use this as grinding. Unown: FntheChat Beter LOL Joe Mama Xiao Xiao Waluigi GRANDAD OK Boomer KEK Roundabout I.M. Meen EnemyStand Vlad evolved into a Crobat, so I swapped him for Paulie the Staravia. I love Crobat to death, I hope I can work him into my final team, or a post-game team
Tails the Buizel has evolved into Floatzel! Swapped with AllMight the Machop. Rocky the Geodude evolved into Graveler! Swapped with Kappa the Psyduck.
I lost internet last night and couldn't report that I caught Girfarig and Sudowoodo. With Sudowoodo's capture, I have released the bonsly I caught much earlier. Egg hatched into Happiny, and I found Pastoria's Great Marsh. Did not get everything, but caught: Quagsire, Roselia, Wooper, Skorupi, Barboach, Marill, Noctowl, Azurill With these captures, Happiny, Hoothoot, Wooper, and even Rosie (who had been with us from day 2, almost) have been released. One of the Pokémon in the Marsh is Day/Afternoon only so I will have to try tomorrow to get it.Also missing Carnivine and Croagunk from the rare rotating list available at this point. Carvanha is available with Super Rod, but I don't have that yet.
I stand corrected, the Pokémon that is 'only during the day/afternoon' is exclusive to platinum, not Pearl. Just missing Carnivine, Croagunk, Golduck as the rotating Pokémon, and Carvanha and Wishcash as Super Rod spawns. Take Carnivine off the list, lol. Golduck has also been added. Just missing Croagunk from the rotation, but I don't think he's out today.. I'm backtracking to Soleceon Town to drop off some Pokémon into the daycare, and to start on Veilstone's events+Gym. Caught a West Sea Shellos so now I have both seas. I put both of my Shellos in the daycare. Marill evolved into Azumarill. Fun Fact: Due to a bug in the games, Wishcash isn't able to flee. It has a 1/225 chance to flee, meaning the rng roll has to land on exactly 0 out of 225 numbers. :u There is also another bug, where if you're leading with a Plate'd Arceus, the game will freeze once a Pokémon spawns. Apparently this also happens with the Pal Park! ANOTHER bug with the Great Marsh, there is a guy in D/P (fixed in Platinum) that says both Mud and Bait will make Pokémon quicker to run while raising or lowering their capture rates. I was tired when I first read his text and thought nothing of it.. >x<
I was unable to beat Maylene and went to train my team up a bit more.. And then some how managed to beat Crasher Wake, skipping a badge. o_O
I kind of remember not thinking much of that guy's confusing text. I just assumed that everything made them more likely to flee *shrugs*. I sort of like having some choice as to which gym badge to do at that point.
Freedom to chose is always fun, I often skipped Erika and Sabrina to go for Koga then went back for Erika and then Sabrina as Sabrina was like, the hardest of them all up until Giovanni in Gen 1 (in FR I would do Erika, Koga, then Sabrina). This was changed in Platinum, where she's the fourth gym and her Pokémon are weaker than Wake's. This is still the first time I went out of order on Pearl, lmao. I also did some minor searching- I won't get the super rod till post game! In all 3 games it's in the Fight Area of the Battle Zone, reachable after beating the Elite Four lmao ;w; That means I only need Croagunk from the Great Marsh, and that I'll have to do some massive backtracking post-game to get all the super rod exclusives.. I finally got Croagunk! I'm now backtracking to Veilstone so I can beat Maylene and continue the storyline. I beat her but at a awesome way I did not expect! Paulie sweeped Meditite, got one blow from Machoke, then crit'd on his first Aerial Ace and got Lucario to instantly use his sitrus berry on the first turn. Paulie went down the next turn to a Force Palm and Sparko went down after a Drain Punch and Force Palm as well (he got a good chunk of Lucario's health with Spark though) and then All Might went in. I guessed correctly that Lucario would be faster as All Might is only lv 26 and used Revenge. The attacking Force Palm left Machop with only 15 hp and the resulting Revenge wiped Lucario out! Wooo!!
I've gotten the Secret Potion and freed up the Psyduck, and started to head towards Celestic Town. I found the secret entrance to Wayward Cave for the first time, but I'm not able to use Strength yet. Also my game randomly crashed while exploring the normal section of Wayward Cave, which was rather..unexpected. Still not sure what happened, if the game cart wiggled or something else.. All Might evolved into Machoke, and was swapped with Karen the Croagunk.
I'm stuck on the way to Celestic Town, my team is getting under leveled, lol. I may have to go back to Wayward Cave, find Mira, and spend time grinding up my team to 25-30. Sparko evolved to Luxray and was swapped with good old Sprout.
Finally got to Celestic Town, after spending some time with Mira. JJ evolved to Driftblim and was swapped with Sheldon. I swapped STING the Skorupi for Delta the Shellos in the daycare.
After getting HM Surf and going as far as I can without Strength, I went to Hearthome for Fantania's badge. My team had some disadvantages, being 26-33, and tagging along was a lv 20 Sheildon with no non-normal type moves. Sprout, Moto-Moto, and Paulie did great landing hard damage, while Delta absorbed a few strong hits. However, Fantania's Pokémon wittled them down, and eventually it was down to Sheldon against Mismagius. Mismagius was already in the red, a single hit would wipe her out..but I had no moves.. and then.. Sandstorm. I forgot Moto-Moto's Sandstream was still active and it sent her down before she could hit my underleveled tag-along. I was so sure I was going to fail and have to do some grinding, but by some sort of strange luck, I won.
I learned something new today.. D/P/Pl has a failsafe where you can't release a Pokémon with a HM unless you have another Pokémon with that HM. Due to the fact there's a softlock in most other gens before it, they made sure you couldn't do that again. Due to catching Gastrodon and Tentacruel, Delta the Shellos and Cool Tent the Tentacool have been released (which is where I discovered this failsafe). I have caught a Glameow, and now hunting for a Wingull. Caught Wingull and finally hit Canalave City. I beat my rival, although barely. My team is under leveled, especially with Delta's replacement. I remembered there's a whole section I missed around Hearthome, and I'll probably go around there and get what I missed. Caught a Goldeen.
Sprout evolved into Torterra and Paulie evolved into Staraptor. They have been swapped with Wing It the Wingull and Glamour the Glameow. Caught a Pichu. Caught a Pikachu, which let me release the Pichu asap. Using a Thunderstone I evolved it to Raichu.
Lack of updates, wow. Life got hectic and I kinda forgot. The route I never went to has been completed and my team is still under leveled. As much as I don't want to, I'm gonna have to pull out some fully evolved mons to get me through the rest of the game. I tried Iron Island and whited out at the first trainer, I'm not ready for this area of the game at all!
I brought in Sprout and Paulie, and tried Iron Island again. This time it was a bit easier, and I got to Reilly finally. Wing It evolved into Peliper.
