One of my favorites is one that I haven't written yet. The reason its my favorite is from just how interesting I've developed their dynamic. That's right, my favorite character isn't a mono, its a duo. Mith and Muith. This might be long so here's a spoiler

In my narrative lore, people who are twins have a faint psychic connection (like real life) but psychic type twins have a psychic connection enhanced to the extreme where over time, they become one entity in two bodies. Mith and Muith are psychic twins that were separated long enough in there youth to not fall ill to this issue. Instead, they developed radically different personalities with one being competitive, focused and work driven, and the other being a prankster, fun loving and emotional. The aspect about them that makes them so fun to write is that I write them as a first person perspective, and writing a first person perspective of a hive mind goes against most of my understanding. Not to mention, that they aren't a hive mind, but very close to one which makes it even more difficult to understand them. They supposedly talk to one another in their heads, but not always in words, but emotions, thoughts, feelings. I often say that they see through each others eyes, feel what the other feels and have no concept of privacy. All this being written by someone who doesn't understand the simple feeling of a mind meld, will make this so hard to pull off. That's what makes it so fun, and why they are my favorite. It forces me to think in such a radically different way that I have to abandon my own sense of reality to understand how others sense and feel. Nothing could be more fun than that and its something that I can really only ever explore in writing.

From the outside people only see one Pokémon in two bodies as they often act and perform motions in unison. One's desires can sometimes come out of the mouth of the other, they seem cold and their words practiced, and they never address themselves in singular pronouns. However, siblings quarrel and these two are no different. When they do get into a fight, their minds will de-sync and they will be forced to take their anger into reality. Often times to outsiders, everything can be find and the two wont say a word, then one will suddenly start yelling and leave in a tantrum and the other will be fussy. When these two are apart like this, its the only time you can see each's individual personality and they address themselves in singular pronouns.

I have a couple in Pokémon Resonance. First we have Cia, and then Ikaika who hasn't been introduced yet.

Spoiler: Cia aka "C-14"

Cia was a human genetically engineered by Team Ragnarok as part of their Fusionoid experiments. As a result, she had no contact with the outside world. Or at least until she met Zero. Before then, the only people who would talk to her were a couple of scientists responsible for her creation. She appears to be a 6-7 year old girl with light green hair. In reality, she's actually about half that age. Her body is covered in circuit board like markings with C-14 tattooed to the back of her shoulder. While hidden from view, she looks like an ordinary girl.

These two scientists chose to treat her as a child of their own rather than just some lab experiment. Cia was created with the ability to teleport out of danger, but she has no control over where she teleports to. Due to being a Fusionoid, she also has the ability to temporarily merge with Pokémon. She even has the ability to understand them.In her merged state, her appearance changes to a Gijinka of the Pokémon she's currently merged with, changing her hair and eye colors in most cases, and even changing what she's wearing.

As an example, when she's merged with her Shiny Minun, she gains her Pokémon's ears, tail and cheeks. She also gets a pair of green gloves. When she is merged with a Steel type, she gains metal armor. While merged with a Pokémon, she also gains that Pokémon's abilities.

After her caretakers learned more of Team Ragnarok's true nature, they urged her to flee. She wound up teleporting somewhere just off Johto Route 32. It was then that she met Zero, who had wound up chasing after a pair of strange looking Riolu.

Spoiler: Ikaika

Ikaika is a trainer from Alola who is searching for every Mythical Pokémon he can find, regardless of if it joins him or not. The reason for this is that something about his presence seems to scare most ordinary Pokémon. Attempting to calm frightened Pokémon usually results in him getting attacked. The reason for this is because a Marshadow is hiding in his shadow.

As a result, he can only work with Mythical and Legendary Pokémon as they are the only Pokémon completely unaffected. He only has two Pokémon to his name so far: Magearna and Zeraora. He meets Zero in Johto's Azalea Town as he searches for Celebi in hopes that the Time Travel Pokémon can join him on his adventures. He's always eager to challenge unusual and/or strong opponents. As a result, he has become another of Zero's rivals.

I basically made Ikaika because I wanted to use Zeraora somewhere in Pokémon Resonance. This was the best way I could come up with.

Name: Meru
Age: 10 years old
Gender: Female
Hometown: Ballonlea, Galar
Personality: A happy-go-lucky girl who admires Bede, her hometown's gym leader, so much that it drove her to go on her own adventures.
Backstory: Meru had been wishing to be a trainer, go on her adventures, and participate in the Pokémon League since her childhood. Unfortunately, she didn't get her endorsement to Galar League by the time she hit her 10th birthday, so she and Pyonta, her Galarian Ponyta, decided to start their adventure from Johto.
Special trait: Many people would say that Meru is basically a Primarina reincarnated as a human because she loves to sing anytime, anywhere, sometimes without even knowing what she's singing. Her voice is so angelic to the point that a bunch of Pokémon, her partners and the wild ones alike, would come out to dance (or sleep when she happens to sing a lullaby).

What do y'all think, folks?

 

Well, Meru just loves singing but doesn't wanna be an idol or anything like that. Her parents tried to enroll her to several idol agencies but failed because she outright refused to go to the auditions. Fortunately though, her neighbors are cool with her singing everyday. They even find that Ballonlea just doesn't feel the same after Meru's off to her journey. I've also edited my first post here in her special trait section because dancing at a lullaby just feels... weird.

As for the RP itself, sadly, it's not in Spanish either. Right now I'm RP-ing in Indonesian (as in Bahasa Indonesia). Since some of the casts there are musicians at some points, I'm sure that my baby will find some friends with her singing.

 

Yeah, I'm dying to use her fusion powers at some point. I've already decided that if I ever write a direct sequel of Pokémon Resonance that she should be the protag. I kind of want her doing a gym challenge at some point or at least have her do an island challenge. For the moment, she's not really old enough.

 

They are really fun to work with. The only big concern I have with my initial writings is trying to tell their unique way of outward communication, because like I said before, they usually act in unison, but in their mind, they have very different view points and often talk through the best options before they speak. Trying to balance these two sides of the characters is the most difficult challenge. Mith and Muith will actually have a rather strong understanding of their syncing. Since I plan on basing these characters is a mystery dungeon type setting, they have to have a strong understanding of their strengths to survive. This also opens up many avenues to write about as they explore the powers of their syncing and how it may effect others. Their syncing is effected by distance and they hate being apart because of it. They are very close to each other and hate doing things alone. You'll often see them as close to each other as possible for their own comfort, but they can have a good connection across the length of a medium sized home. I developed them so that they would see everything the other has seen, they share everything and have no sense of privacy because of it. All their memories, emotions and the like are shared between them for each to see.

Thank you for the insight! She looks really well thought out! I get you when you say writing mental illness is hard, I've dabbled a few of my characters in some pretty nasty ones myself. Being someone with metal illness as well, I can relate with you that its difficult to write mental illness you don't have. But, if you can pull it off, you can have a really good character. Just a suggestion though, if you start writing her story before she loses her eyes, then loses them along her journey, it may be more impactful to the reader and then showing her slow descent into a worse state of mind may prove to be an interesting plot device. Take the suggestion as you will, I just think that will show more sympathy from the reader and be better at easing yourself into the character.

 

I had another one I was going to use in a direct sequel to Pokémon Resonance after I've finished it, but due to some changes, I might introduce him in Resonance as either a supporting character or rival. Or I might just leave him on the shelf for something different all together. If I ever get to do a sequel, I think I'll just have it take place in the newest region, which is currently Galar. I don't expect to finally finish Pokémon resonance until after Gen 10 comes around considering I started back in Gen 6 and still haven't gotten the second gym battle out of the way.

Spoiler: André

André is a trainer from Kalos, but is a bit of a tourist and a novice. He's collected every single O-Power. Even so, he has his doubts as a trainer, causing him to be weary of challenging gyms and the like. With his Chespin, Charmander, and Swirlix by his side, he's actually more ready for his first gym battle than he gives himself credit for.

All he needs is a push in the right direction. He lives relatively care free, and is more interested in travelling the world than getting stronger as a trainer. However, he will soon discover that he cannot do one without the other.

I don't really have much to write about André yet I'm afraid. That's mostly because I don't know what I'm doing with him. Especially since Zero has plenty of friends/rivals in the works already from a trainer from Orre with a Pokémon Translator earpiece and a coordinator from Alola that I've already introduced to a literal ninja from Kanto and Ikaika. Speaking of said ninja...

Spoiler: Morikage

Morikage is a ninja that has trained under Janine alongside his Greninja when it was just a Froakie in Kanto's Fushia City. Along with his Rowlett, Tsubasa, his Skrelp, Miryuu, and his Zorua, he sets out for the 7 strongest gyms between Kanto and Johto before returning to challenge his master. He battles me while I'm standing in for Blue as the acting Viridian Gym Leader and leaves with not only his Earth Badge, but a Chimchar named Haru.

He comes back for a rematch after he gets stronger with a fully evolved team after challenging the Cinnabar, Saffron, Olivine, Cianwood, Mahogany, and Blackthorn Gyms. He has been known to use a kunai knife attachment on his Pokeballs.

Morikage was actually inspired by the Pokémon adventures manga where Koga and Janine each use Pokeballs inside shurikens. Except he sometimes has his Pokeballs on his knives.

She's a former team Skull grunt looking to make a living for herself. She travels around and got her current outfit in Kalos. She's sweet, understanding, and knows most "bad guys" aren't really bad.

 

Since the creation of kid Meru back then, I've made various OCs for various roleplays here in LV. My favorite ones happen to be Kalino and Marissa because they have this weird penchant for getting themselves in trouble throughout their respective RPs. Backstory: Kalino was your average Alolan boy until he lost to one of the kahunas during the final trial at Mount Lanakila. He was so frustrated at that one defeat to the point of him joining Team Skull on a whim. That is, until Guzma disbanded the whole team. He then went back to his hometown at Paniola to help out at his family's nearby ranch.

One day, one of his old friends who had been working as a miner in Unova after Team Skull's disbandment asked for his help to reclaim the coal mine he's working at. He wasn't sure at first, but then decided to help after being reassured by his Ninetales partners, Mako and Mio. Fortunately, his other friend from Skull who became a gadgeteer had already upgraded his Ride Pager beforehand, so he can call his Ride Pokémon even when he's not in Alola. Kalino then flew all the way to Unova on his Charizard ride.

Backstory: Marissa and Alvin Dee are a pair of twins hailing from Hulbury who took part in the Galar League together. They were so inseparable to the point of Raihan, who usually conducts his gym battles as double battles, allowing them to challenge him as a pair instead of doing so individually. However, after finishing their gym challenges and upon hearing about these two places called the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra, they decided to split up to explore both places at the same time. Marissa chose to make her way to the Isle of Armor while Alvin opted to explore the Crown Tundra all by himself.
Personality: Marissa has quite a good physical endurance yet haven't gotten any martial arts instructions because she used to leave the physical fighting to her twin brother. Her inquisitiveness, however, is much better than her brother's to the point that she's willing to take on the training offered by the Kikuzu Dojo. She does have a Rotom Bike but only uses it to cross water bodies because she prefers to ride her Rapidash on the land.

Spoiler: Kalino's case

In Braving the Cold, Kalino already got troubles from the get-go. From crash-landing in front of a ferris wheel, trying to deal with black Plasma all by himself (he did get help from his teammates, though), lashing out to his childhood friend whom he accidentally met in the coal mine (to be fair though, she triggered his worst trauma first)... what else?

Spoiler: Marissa's case

In The Journey of Evolution, while Marissa's initial training was relatively safe, she started getting accidents in the trials for a Kubfu's guide to their evolution. As of now, it was at least once per trial.

• First trial: chasing the Galarian Slowpoke to reclaim some uniforms (like in the Isle of Armor DLC). Marissa fell on a super-speedy Slowpoke because her Rapidash crashed into it (both Pokémon are Galarian btw). But then the Slowpoke proceeded to drag her around to the point that Cobalt (played by @Ignem) had to help her out.
• Second trial: the weapon trial, each person have different ones depending on their weapon. In Marissa's case, since she wields a bow, her trial was shooting the orbs on Pokémon statues. The accident happened at the Arbok statue. Marissa tried to shoot at it twice, but long story short, her second attempt lacked oomph and ended up hitting her head.

 

This Is one of my many Pokémon OCs I've had since around February 2010 and is in a series that has been going for a loooong time and is being reworked to fix some things involving certain scenes context but this does not affect this character anyways this is the most recent character sheet that I have of him that is at the end of the series just an FYI

Spoiler: Bio part 1: Early-life

Onagi Shinoa(also known as Omega Zu as he would go by and legally had his name changed to later in life) Was born July 7,1964 in Jubilife city, Sinnoh. Not much is known about his early life outside of his association with the organization that he would later be known for his 50 year long career with.

That being Team Novastar their main goal was for peace and to assist as many people in the world as they could. When he was 5 he worked with them as part of a youth reserve starting small with things like standing up to kids who would bully others or helping find stolen items but but the time he was 10 he was into some major operations and was valued as a member for his skill and reliability 2 traits he took with him to his grave.

When he was 12 years old Team galactic with help from a former friend who had betrayed him named Terrence had Jubilife raised to the ground causing him and the people closest to him to flee to the Unovan Novastar base.

Spoiler: Bio part 2: Joining Novastar and the Unovan war

It was during the first month that he spent here that he signed the contract that made him a full time soldier to Novastar and as part of the contract signing he was given the dawn stone to evolve into a Gallade before beginning his 2 years of training.

At the end of those 2 years of training there had been an incident in October of 1978 that sparked what would be known as the Unovan war. The incident involved a childhood friend who had moved away named Blair being captured in a plot by Terrence that saw her and a few others captured and having to escape some underground experimentation facility which they succeeded in doing.

The Unovan war was a war fought between Novastar and their allies vs Terrorist Organizations such as Burn core(The main evil organization in the story that gets shown outside galactic) Team galactic and their allies.

The Unovan war saw Omega Zu being put to his maximum potential and put to leadership of a special elite unit known as Operation Bloodmist and taking part in the most brutal but important parts of the war which really shaped his true reason for fighting.

"I fight so that future generations can have a future that isn't plagued with the bullshit mine was." He would say in many a interview in later parts of his career and life.

After the end of the war in Unova Omega Zu and many of his allies in the war had went to Kalos to fight a group of soldiers from their ally that broken off to form what would be known as Team Flare. After fighting most of them off Omega Zu moved to Kanto the region he would call home until his 80s.

Spoiler: Bio part 3: life in Kanto and Dragon team

After moving to Kanto Omega Zu spent a few years getting accustomed to the region before being put in charge of the new elite unite known as dragon team in 1990 working with several others. During this time he also had started working with a trainer Brad baker (self insert me in this universe but done in a not shitty way) to start collecting gym badges in the wind down between work.

During Dragon teams day he had worked many jobs from massive battles to medical science the latter of which would later benefit the world in ways that would be hard to measure.

At the end of the summer Brad and his team had claimed the Kanto championship and all things were looking up for the now 26 year old Gallade.

However that would all come crashing down on January 1,1992 when 2 gunshots were heard at the Brothers heart coffee shop in Cerulean city when the leader of Novastar Nova himself was shot 2 times once in the wing the other in the chest. Being rushed to the hospital he died 2 hours later accompanied by the second in command of Dragon team Ryder.

Omega Zu was very shook up by his leader and mentors death and at his funeral he couldn't even finish the speech he was supposed to give collapsing to the floor crying. For many people this was the first time they saw him in such a state but regardless of that morale for the entirety of Novastar was at an all time low.

8 months later in September an operation to get info from some people who snuck into the inside of the now Galactic city of Jubilife Saw Ryder and Jared of dragon team torch many of Galactic's men and only one man return as Ryder had signed his Order 72(Resignation papers for Novastar) and move to Kalos working under one of Novastars closest allies (The Dragoon Piercers) under an alias and he didn't return to Novastar for another 26 years.

Spoiler: Bio part 4: Life after Dragon team and later Novastar career

Omega Zu had a relatively easy life after Dragon team mainly managing Novastar and taking part in assisting with incidents that allies of Novastar also needed help with as well as venturing out into many hobbies such as,

• Bare knuckle fighting
• Weight lifting
• Sport shooting
• Language learning (by this point he had learned 7)

It was also around this point he had his name legally changed from Onagi Shinoa to Omega Zu.

But until around the year 2010 things were mostly uneventful with a few exceptions but one of main ones happened that year where an incident happened where a former Dragon team member confronted him over an issue that didn't really happen. When de-escalating the situation the fire type burned his face badly with his paw to the point the left half of his face had to be covered with a metal plate and he lost most of his vision in that eye.

In the 2 weeks that followed his older brother Zado was assassinated while taking one of the many vacation trips he took after the Unovan war to honor those that had fallen. Omega Zu was more devastated with the death of his brother than he had been with anything he had ever seen on the battlefield but not because he was gone. Zado had died unfulfilled with himself and unhappy with his current position which he would never get to fix.

In the years that followed he became depressed and suicidal until he had got word Zylen from the Bloodmist who was captured by Team Flare in the skirmishes against them was still alive and that they knew where the last remaining Flare base was. This helped his state and it was 6 years from the rescue of Zylen that Ryder had returned from Kalos.

The truth was Ryder had worked with Zado to keep crime off Kalos streets and with Zado gone even with Ryder still working on this it was going up substantially again.

But this was far from the worst thing that happened that year.

Spoiler: Bio part 5: The final conquest and Novastar disbands

About a decade after Dragon team disbanded overseas in Kalos a small organization that claimed to have similar goals as Novastar went rogue and were attacked by Novastar and Burn Core for their own reasons. The organization had a few members left after this and when they came back had basically started trying to benefit only themselves which that among many other things started what would be the last war in Novastar history.

The conflict has many factions and is hella complicated so I'll give a simplified of each faction and why they are there.

Good guys

• Novastar: They are helping their allies as well as going against long term enemies Galactic and Burn core
• Dragoon Piercers/ Team sparrow: Team sparrow merged with the Dragoon Piercers after the death of their leader due to stomach cancer 25 years earlier and the combined goal of the 2 was to protect Kalos from the ensuing threat
• Blue Ivans: An organization created by one of the people captured before the Unovan war along with Blair they were mostly secretive but also working with Novastar and the Dragoon Piercers when needed

Bad guys

• WPA: The organization mentioned at the start of this part they are really only here to seek power for themselves and are corrupt
• Team Genesis: A former Novastar ally who moved over to Burn Cores side after their leader Payton died the same day Nova did and was replaced with a hardcore Burn Core official. (they later switch to Novastars side again after their current leader gets deposed)
• Burn Core: Their morale is down after their leader was killed 4 years prior they didn't slow down and are still out there
• Crimson dawn: A cult formed by an Ex Novastar and Dragoon Piercer soldier who had slowly fell into insanity due to his hatred for Burn Core he was responsible for downing their leader. (although no one found out that one of the people he killed was their leader until a couple of years after it had been done)
• Team Galactic: OFC they would be here it's Team Fucking Galactic probably the most evil people in the story.

Conflict summary: The war started in Snowbelle City, Kalos between basically every faction and was split into 3 main fronts

• Snowbelle front: The one mentioned above and the most Brutal fighting of the war takes place here
• Vermilion/Lavender offensive: Where Burn Core, WPA and Galactic tried landing troops in Kanto to diminish the morale of Novastar and their allies. Ended up becoming a fight where even the heavily armed Kanto public got involved in pushing them out.
• Jubilife front: The longest front of the war this is where Galactic had their last stand

The war lasted 10 years ending when Omega Zu stormed into the Galactic compound and having his long awaited confrontation with Terrence ending with Terrence being shot 27 times and thrown out a window.

That was the end of Novastar as well with the organization disbanding due to running in the red from the war and fulfilling one of their biggest goals which was peace.

Or so it would seem.

Spoiler: Bio part 6: later life and death

Retired from Novastar a now 64 year old Omega Zu had relaxed in his house in Pewter city the same house he had bought when he moved to Kanto all of those years prior.

It was about 20 years later when he was forced from his home because the new government wanted to kill all former Novastar agents so a now 84 year old Omega Zu geared up for a fight taking his 3 roommates with him to Mount Silver where they retired in a cave.

18 years pass and word got out that Omega Zu who was now all alone was located. The Kanto government sent armed guards to his location to kill him.

When he saw them walk into the room he unflinchingly lit a Cigar before the final exchange he would have with anyone would occur which went like this.

"You're Omega Zu! So it's not a rumor." The leader of the guards said.

"Indeed and I know why you are here. I am the only one left, Ever since I lost Eclipse I truly just wanted to meditate and think back on life and then I realized just how truly lucky I was. He was the last one I had left." Omega Zu said looking straight into his soon to be executioners eyes with the emotionless stare that a man that has been through the life he went through would have.

"Then what was keeping you here?" The leader of the guards inquired the elderly Gallade.

"What was keeping me here was the fact I was still alive and I truly longed for someone to either strike me down or for my own mortality to show and to die of natural causes to save me the dishonor of dying by my own hand." He merely responded to the guards the power and authority in his voice faded to the eternal void more dead that he was inside.

"Do you have any regrets?" The guard asked his final question to the now lost powerless man who once liberated the world from the hells that he wished he never had seen.

"I truly regret nothing despite what many might believe." Omega Zu responded.

A 5 minute silence between both parties of mutual respect and understanding on why it was to be this way ensued.

"Now get what you have come for." Omega Zu ordered being the last thing he would ever do.

The leader of the guards then unsheathed a sword lunging forth and stabbing the former leader in the heart. When his body collapsed the guard took his hand and dipped it in the blood and on the wall in both Japanese and English (the 2 main languages in this universe) the following,

"It seems honor and heroism have faded but gone they may truly be but the generation can never be forgotten for what it was and will continue to be for ages to come" The guard then used a type of concoction developed 5 years prior that turned the blood into a type of permanent ink that would stay on the walls on the cave.

On that day on October 8,2066 he died at the age of 102.

So that is where both the story for Omega Zu and at the ending there is the last scene of the series/universe the character is based in and forever will Omega Zu be my favorite character I've written and the oldest surviving OC that I have to this very day.


I also wanted to note that I left out several character names and other things only including the most important details for who he was. If you want more sheets I can make a thread of the OCs from this universe and their character sheets.
