Group RP Pokemon: Evolution Quest (IC thread)

Out of the three levels, the Eeveelution boys had already explored the bottom floor during their first visit. And Blacky had also explored the top floor back in his solo trip. Thus the center floor -- where the Water Dragon King used to reside -- was the only one left unexplored. Who knows if the Sword of the Stars' component was in there?

 

(Aight then. Might as well wait for @122 Generation to say something before going there.)

Now that the boys were at the corridor junctions (?), Blacky simply turned to Atelier to see what he would do.

(Also, in case @WavePearl and @ChocoChicken need a reminder of the ruins, here's the Earth DK arc's starting point:

(Whoa. All the way back there, eh?)

Atelier nodded at Blacky to continue. The ruins still spanned a handful of rooms and it would take time to search them all. He only had to hope it wouldn't take too long before sundown. That would make life more difficult. Then again, he and Blacky never went as far as where the Water Dragon King rested, since the battle occurred above the surface. Perhaps that was the best place to check first.

 

(Yep. I've checked and that's what I got.)

Off the boys went into the center floor. The rather straightforward corridor there eventually led them to a pretty huge room fitting for a Dragon King's size. This got Blacky to imagine Angus (that Lanturn from before) and his friends (not that Blacky even knew who they were) facing the Water Dragon King in this very room. The blue Umbreon only could imagine such terror when that happened.

 

"All right. In that case, let's get in and check the whole place pronto." Without missing a beat, Xuehua immediately took off towards the general direction of where the cave was.

If only the room had some more light! Atelier wondered how the Water Dragon King could even see in this. He was thankful that the battle hadn't occurred here, and how knows what would have happened if guards were still around? Atelier tried his best to search the room.

 

At the pace the duo were going at, the cave didn't take long to show up. Xuehua barely glanced at the entrance before rushing in to see the paths and bridges they'd taken on their first day - felt like ages ago she was flanking the team through the whole place, watching Aine's every move to make sure she wasn't another minion...

 

(Oooh~ Xuehua's skepticism at its finest, eh?)

Seeing his Eevee friend started looking for the treasure(s), Blacky quickly shook his head and looked at the blue rings on his body. They were shining, yeah, but not enough that he had to amplify the light with a Flash.

(I know Flash has been Thanos'd out of existence in gen 8, but Umbreon can still learn it in the older gens.)

 

(Xuehua is the type to be on edge,m, ha… Even then, Flash will be missed)

Atelier waved back to Blacky as if to thank him. Why didn’t he think of that earlier? If only someone knew Flash. Flash was a move he hadn’t seen used in a long time, and he had almost forgotten how useful it was in times like these. So the glow from the rings will have to do.

After some time, Atelier had thoroughly searched the first half of this room.

As much as Blacky wanted to search the other half of the room, he doubted whether his light would be bright enough to reach Atelier from there, so he might as well tag along. But then he saw a pile of weapons (?) lying in a corner of the room. Who knows if the special gem they'd been looking for was in there?

(Several OOC notes:

• About this pile of weapons, so far I only can think of Water Stone for Xuehua and Undine Arrows for Blacky (since iirc Aine already has some). Any other aquatic weapons that might be in there?
• Spoiler alert: the Sword of the Stars' component is also in that pile of weapons.
• I've checked Bulbapedia and turned out that Jolteon, Espeon, Umbreon, and Sylveon can learn Flash in the older gens. So if the earth lair ruins is as dark as the water one, Aine might be able to do what Blacky did. And that's one excuse for where Blacky got this move from.

Atelier had spent the better of some time searching the room but hadn't yet noticed the pile of weapons. It was only when Blacky paused that Atelier followed his gaze. There was a pile of weapons (at least, that was what it looked like) resting in a heap. He looked at Blacky first, as if asking if he wanted to check it out.

 

"See anything new?" Xuehua looked around. "...I think I did pass by a fork with a treasure room once, but I can't be sure. Besides, we may have reclaimed that one."

 

Nodding at Atelier as a nonverbal "Let's go", Blacky went on to rummage the pile. As expected, lots of weapons were piled in there: spears, tridents, daggers, and many more. And yet, Blacky took a Water Stone and some Undine Arrows for himself because the former reminded him of Xuehua's Ice Stone-powered staff and he already had a bow or two for the latter. Ah, if only they found all these before going to that lava lake for the first time...

And then something shining drew Blacky's attention: a special sapphire belonging to the Sword of the Stars. Blacky knew it because the way it shone pretty much looked like the ruby one. It was hidden in the pile of weapons with only a seamitar right under it... wait, seamitar???

Wait a minute. Did Angus have a Samurott friend when they came here or... did a Samurott came before him? Blacky mentally wondered. I mean, as far as he knew, seamitars are Samurott's exclusive weapon. How could one of them be all the way down here then?

 

Whereas for Atelier he picked up some water materia which would may have its uses for making more weapons. He even picked up a shield with the essence of water, which reminded him of the Spectral Shield. After Blacky had picked up the sapphire, his eyes wandered to what Blacky was gazing at.
