I have been on a binge of paleo youtube videos so I wanted to make a topic about fun fossil Pokémon ideas for our great lakes Pokémon region. Ankylosaurus is my favorite dinosaur and was indeed first found in Canada (not quite in the lakes region but still). A Rock/Fighting brawler could be fun. Dunkleosteus has kind been done as part of the malformed fossils of Galar but it is an iconic ancient creature first found near Lake Erie. To have it stand out from the others and be a play on words with the lake it was found near IRL it could be Rock/Ghost where only the terrifying head fossilized (like in real life) so a spirit had to make its home within to make it move. Gorgonopsians were a bad ass predator that prowled Pangea (so our region as well technically lol). These things were bizarre creatures that had traits from both reptiles and mammals with legs under their bodies like the large carnivores of today and huge saber-like fangs and massive heads to match. They had powerful tails and claws with their primordial reptile-like brains. What do you think? And of course, what would your ideas for new fossil Pokémon be?
Gorgonopsia could make for a really interesting Pokémon I think, creatures that are less popular and talked about seem far more interesting for fossils. I would like to add land crocodiles like Mahajangasuchus and Kaprosuchus to the suggestions, is animals I haven't really heard anyone talk about outside YouTube but I find them pretty interesting.
They are very cool looking, I wonder how we could implement them in an interesting way with some many crocodilians in the game already....hmmm
