1x1 Pokétopia Tour (Tala x 122)

The lobby was already crowding with Trainers who were participating in the Pokétopia Tour. There were Trainers of different ages and each had their own unique way of dressing up. There was a boy wearing a fedora, a young man wearing mostly blue, and a young woman with a hairstyle of mostly black with orange streaks.

Leon and Evergreen caught up with Michelle. "Hey, uh..." Leon greeted Michelle. "Heh, I thought I was treating you for dinner. You know what? Lunch is on me, tomorrow."

Evergreen almost wanted to laugh. Was this how Leon asked girls out?

 

(Heheh me too. Had to pick a different style every so often. I actually took these OCs from my old fanfic which I couldn't finish, but the characters are still there)

Evergreen almost wanted to laugh and tried her best to hold it. This was like Leon trying to ask out Michelle but was shot down just like that. Or maybe that Leon just needed to do better next time (that is, he needed to be faster). Leon decided to look away.

A short fanfare played in the Gateway Colosseum and cheers rang in the air. Right in the middle of the stage, the Colosseum host - a man dressed in a tuxedo - waved to the fans. "Welcome, everyone, to the Gateway Colosseum! Glad you could join us live or at home. This is the second round of the Pokétopia Tour! I'm Joe, your host," he said.

In the lobby, Leon watched the broadcast from where he sat. He was asked to pick out which three Pokémon he would be using tonight, so he filtered out his options.

Michelle’s Pokémon were healed and good to go.

On the stage, Joe was giving an explanation of what the colosseum had to offer. With the stunning view of the city as a backdrop, it made a perfect place to do battles as well as hold welcoming ceremonies. If there was any organisation that wanted to hold events like these, this was the place.

Without further, Joe began introducing the contestants of the Tour who would be taking part tonight.

Michelle's encouragement caught Leon by surprise, as he would have thought her to be the type to hold a grudge (given what had happened the past afternoon). At first, he gratefully accepted it, only to see that little smirk on her face as if she were implying something else. "Oh... Thanks," he replied. Did she know his next opponent would be tough?

On the colosseum grounds, fireworks were being shot to the sky above as Leon saw his next opponent. It was a young man about as old as himself who was dressed in a green t-shirt and black bottoms, complete with a backwards-worn baseball cap. From the looks of it, his opponent did have a sense of fashion.

At first, Leon took Michelle's words as mere encouragement until he realised what she actually meant in the latter part of her words. Although Michelle made it clear that she wanted to fight him, Leon also realised that it was because she wanted to fight him in the final that she was actually confident in him. Leon slightly smiled.

In the lobby, Evergreen was left to watch the battle by herself. Leon hadn't opted to use her for this round. So it would have to wait. Instead, she hung around and gazed at Michelle and her friends. Whoa, so Michelle had a lot of connections here, didn't she?

Leon sent out Belle and Glacia (his Froslass) just as his opponent sent out an Espeon and an Umbreon. Cheers rang out as the battle began!

(We've written a lot together, haven't we? It's a wonder how we haven't met in-person over the years - only through this forum. Also, nope, Evergreen hasn't met Kirito. She only has been Maria's companion in this universe)

So the battle commenced under the night sky. Attacks were traded between the competitors with the Bellossom and Froslass on one end, and the Espeon and Umbreon on the other.

Evergreen watched intently. The battle could go both ways. She wasn't used to watching battles by herself and wondered if Oku could have at least kept her company, if not Maria. But Maria was watching from another part of the colosseum, she bet.

 

(Heheh I haven't used Skype for a while either. And I bet we live in literally opposite sides of the world)

Evergreen watched the boy dressed in all black walk away with his companion. That boy really liked wearing black, didn't he? She returned her attention to the battle at hand. Come on, Leon could do better, right? She knew he and Belle always did.

As if in response to Michelle's opinion, it seemed Belle had attacked exactly as Michelle expected her to. Cheers rose from the crowd as Leon did a victory pose to celebrate his win.

Evergreen balled her hands into fists. "Yes! Leon! You did it!" she said to herself.

 

More matches passed by as the evening went on. Leon rejoined Evergreen in the lobby with Belle in his arms and he even had Oku following him around. In that time, he had Belle and Glacia treated for their injuries. Evergreen helped him around.

Then Leon rejoined Michelle amid the crowded lobby. "Well, that was tougher than I thought. I must be getting rusty," he said to her.

 

(Way to tie that in. Yeah, maybe we can build on it at some point)

Leon could tell Michelle was on edge when she came back from her phone call. He didn’t dare ask about it as it wasn’t his business.

Evergreen could feel the emotions though when she joined Leon also. “Uh, you okay?” she asked.

The battles continued playing on the screen.
