Xeno stood in the kitchen, fixated on making breakfast with Aeron, whom he wanted to offer some distraction to relieve the tension that seemed to taint the Jolteons aura as of late. He wasn't sure if there was a consolidation he could offer to tame the fear that plagued him since their fight with Faranth. Nor was he receptive to any consoling regardless. Anytime anyone brought up anything about this fear was met with a prickliness that was unbecoming of anyone related to Lunar. It wasn't without reason. He knew all too well what Faranth was capable of, but wearing that on his chest made life a little easier. He just wasn't sure how to get that through to him. Perhaps he'd ask Lily once she came back from her trip to the nearby village to stock up on foodstuff for Drake, given the amount needed to satiate his new form. Of course, Aeron was the least of his worries, maybe cooking was a distraction for himself as much as it was for his friend. The tension between Seraphina and Lily could be cut through like the perfect apples he was preparing. To make matters worse there were those two eeveelutions at the Prancing Ponyta tavern. Something about them he didn't like, even if Lily approved of them. They just seemed, familiar, somehow.
Aeron watched Xeno cook, occasionally passing various knives and ingredients to the Lucario as he sat on the counter beside him. He felt his skin crawl with every glance made in his direction, knowing that this was one of his attempts to distract him from his watchfulness. He couldn't help it, he didn't understand how Xeno could be so calm at a time like this. Didn't he work with Faranth? He must know what she's like! Was it arrogance, or am I just a coward? Aeron huffed, his gaze shifting away from the Lucario and towards the sound of a branch shaking outside of the window. His fur stood on end and he raised his hackles, preparing for a fight or to flee, flee as far as he could though it would never be enough distance from her. "Enough, Aeron." Xeno placed a paw upon his back, and after a moment he realized the sound he heard wasn't Faranth after all, just Asteria landing from her morning patrol. "At least she has the common sense to keep an eye out!" Aeron snapped, turning on his heel and making his way out of the treehouse in a huff, taking his adventuring pack with him.
