    Which do you guys prefer? Both have their pros and cons, though personally I prefer 1x1s. It's easier for me to keep track of all the things happening and all the characters, haha! I'm interested to see everyone's opinions though. :>

    I like 1x1 because it's a lot more intimate and you have a little more time to reply before all hell breaks loose.

    I prefer 1 on 1 as well. It is nice having at least some control over your roleplay without having a bunch of random people putting input in once.

    Yeah! It's easier to plan with just one or two other people rather than a whole bunch of others.

    I remember being in a roleplay once where some random third-party dude kept on coming in and changing it for the worse. It is just something that I dislike a lot.

    So far, every single public RP I've ever joined has sunk in some way. D: So perhaps I'm a bit biased when I say I prefer 1x1...

    I feel this in my soul, haha.

    1x1s can sink as well though! Both have their ups and downs.

    1x1 is ok, but I much prefer a small, private group of maybe 3 or 4 players. I don't like public games very much, since in my experience they tend to fall apart or get crazy pretty quickly- it's easy for me to get lost and lose track of who's doing what.

    I've tried public role-plays several times, and I just prefer private 1-3 people ones. There's no rush and you don't have to worry about having to keep up with so many people's posts and/or characters @.@. You can develop characters much more, and move the plot along more too in private ones I've found. Most I've ever done are, since I rarely do public ones anymore. I miss RPing, haven't down any in a while since the friends I did it with more regularly have been busy, as have I.

    Every roleplay I've participated in or personally modded has been public, with only a few exceptions. On the last forum that I had been a major part of, public roleplays actually did extremely well with staying controlled and active without the mod(s) having to intervene; the most well-known one I had made lasted a full 400+ pages with no problems, and I met some very quality RPers along the way who wound up becoming my best friends. I typically used to make mine public because I enjoyed getting the chance to meet as many new people as I could! That, and I usually don't know enough people - or anybody well enough - to start anything private or invite-only. I can definitely understand some of the pros that would come with private RPs, though, such as ensuring who will be joining and not having to worry about potentially unwanted participants. Private groups of maybe 3-6 are fine with me, but I don't like 1 x 1 anything - even with my closest friends - because I'm really awkward/shy in those scenarios. ;;

    It's nice to see everyone's different experiences and preferences! Has anyone had any completely awful experiences that has biased them totally against some form of roleplaying?

    Not really since I just started, but it would seem that more public ones are more suited for me. Reasoning? Simple, I like to see how others think.

    Hmm, well as I've only been in public roleplays on here in the past(Lake Front Wilds and Crisis Academy), I couldn't really decide between the two. 1v1 gives more time for sure, and you can talk with them and focus on one specific thing. Public, there are multiple people, making it even more diverse to centralizing a plot. I'd probably like 1v1's better just because it would be simpler and with the past public ones I've been in got shut down not too long after it got started.

    Well, I like both of them equally even though I've done more 1x1 roleplays (in other sites), but I think they're both fun equally. ^^;

    I like 1x1 it makes me feel less awkward since I won't be joining in on the RP at complete random.
