Video game controllers come in all shapes and sizes, every gamer has a preference in regards to what they enjoy the most out of a controller and what makes a controller a perfect fit for them. But moving away from that kind of topic I want to bring up the different styles of already existing controllers. I don't mean the classic xbox 360 controller or the classic Gamecube controller. i am talking about controllers from the 3rd party of the gaming industry. We have wired controllers, these tend to be pretty much the same as 1st party controllers only sometimes the wire can be longer, allowing the player to sit back a bit farther. Then there is Wireless, allowing the player to move from a specific spot, without the worry of the wire tugging on your console and toppling it over. Then there is the infamous modded controller. The modded controller is almost like a small cheating device depending on the game. Things like turbo, allowing butting inputs to be input twice as fast, or even making it so triggers and analog sticks are easier to function with. What are your thoughts on 3rd Party controllers. Do you have a 3rd party controller and if so, is it modded in some way, Whether it be the handles of the controller, the wire, or even button inputs?

Edit: I also want to add on this question- Do you consider modded controllers as cheating?

Modded controllers could definitely be considered cheating. I own a few 3rd party controllers, but they aren't there for the sake of cheating. They are there because they work better than the normal ones.

Although this is slightly off topic, my brother recently fixed the stick on our N64 controllers. Now, they move way too fast from left to right and it is actually pretty fun, while it can be cheating.

I have a third party GCN controller, since my original ones are starting to wear (they don't age well). The controller is not modded in any way, but so far, it works fine. I bought it for the sole purpose of Smash on Wii U. Some of the buttons click differently than the original (like the Z and shoulder buttons, for example), but other than that, it's just like a GCN controller, for the most part.

As for turbo controllers, I find them cheap if people use them for online play; it's just not fair to the other players (depending on the game). If you use them for single player games though, I don't mind. Use to your heart's content.

I have a third party wireless GCN controller, and a third party N64 controller.

The GCN controller is there because all of the original GCN controllers I have are wired, and I'm tired of having to sit right in front of my TV to play games. The N64 controller is there because the one I have has a rubber control stick, which feels a lot better, and doesn't leave grooves in my hand when I play certain games *COUGH* Mario Party 1 *COUGH*.

I think third party controllers are ok, so long as they don't have things that give the player an unfair advantage.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't know modded controllers existed. I have a few third party controllers, but I rarely use them anymore. I do like the new SSB fighter themed controllers. I don't think controllers should give a player an advantage. That is the definition of cheating.

I only have 3 controllers for every console in the world, haha.
I only use them when friends are around, but I've never heard of them being modded. That's just plain mean.
