Never too early to prepare, right? I mean, you could get hit by a bus and die tomorrow. So, say that DID happen, what five songs would you want played at your funeral, and why?
First off, Darth Vader’s entrance theme Then we play Johnny Cash’s Hurt Kaleo West’s Way down we go Coco, Mi Proud Corazon And finally, Do the Mario
1. Sound of Silence 2. Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure OP "Stand Proud" 3. Then some good old german march Music "Erika" 4. Hentai Metal by RiffShop (One last statement) 5. And when my dead corpse get burned, I want "Feuer Frei" from Rammstein.
Suddenly I hate myself for restricting it to 5. God damnit. As for me...in order: 1. Shuffle or Boogie - FFVIII OST 2. Black Heart - Chimaira 3. It's my Life - Bon Jovi 4. Don't Say A Word - Xandria 5. Mourning - NieR Automata OST There is a hidden, personal meaning behind the songs I've chosen, which I don't really want to go into. But I'll admit that the ordering is mostly to screw with people - they won't know whether they're coming or going after sitting through all that, and that's a pleasing thought. People going to my funeral and pretending they're upset would be the very height of insincerity. Fitting that the music would reflect the farce.
I'm going to be pretty honest here: Omnium Gatherum - These Gray Heavens Metallica - Mama Said Gojira - Born in Winter Lashmush - A Song for Coyotes Mustafa Avşaroğlu - Sonsuz Karanlık Bonus: the first Pokémon Anime opening theme song. Regular version, not some somber BS.
MIIINNEEE DIIIAAMMOONDDDSS!!!! ... okay not really. To be honest that's a very hard question to answer. There are so many songs I love that it'd be hard to choose just five of them. I guess I'd have to have at least one song from either ABBA or The Mamas & The Papas because they are my favourite artists. I'd have to have a very nostalgic song too, maybe something from Florence + The Machine or MGMT ( actually I'd probably go with Electric Feel by MGMT because that's one of my most favourite and nostalgic songs ever. Love that song). Might have the theme from the Neverending Story, or a song from another one of my favourite movies (Kill Bill, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, etc). Then I would have another song from either the 60s or the 70s because they are my favourite decades of music. I'd probably go with a psychedelic rock song or a pop song. Lastly I'd have a metal or hard rock song, but nothing too heavy. Probably something by Powerwolf, Black Sabbath, or a folk metal band like Korpiklaani.
First, the Hat In Time main theme. Next, "Luma" from Super Mario Galaxy. Third, (must be an Alexa), play Despacito Two. Fourth, Fist Bump from Sonic Forces, just because it's a nice song. Finally: MINEEEEEE DIAAAAAMONDDSSSSSS! Must be played at FULL BLAST and kills everyone in the city.
My taste in music has changed a fair bit since I originally made this post, so here’s the updated list. I also have a bit of context for each song: 1. Yesterday by the Beatles (This is my favorite Beatles song and it fits the mood of a typical funeral) 2. Piano Man by Billy Joel (An extremely nostalgic song that holds much sentimental value) 3. What Makes the World by The New Respects (This is the song that fits my moral philosophy the best. It’s also a soothing midpoint for the entire event.) 4. Khoj by When Chai Met Toast (One of the most gorgeous songs I’ve ever heard. The lyrics fit as well) 5. Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel (A climatic ballad to end the event on a good note. The lyrics go well with my optimistic outlook on life)
This is super hard. Because I'd want something that I'd enjoy, and that I feel connected to in some way, but also something that my family will be comforted listening to. Okay, first five that come to mind: Wait for It from Hamilton Proud Corazon from Coco Either the English opening for Digimon Frontier, or the Japanese opening for Digimon Tamers. When you Believe or All I Ever Wanted(+reprise) from Prince of Egypt Into the Wild by Miracle of Sound
... “If there’s a reason I’m still alive and everyone who loves me has died,” is literally the exact opposite of what happens to cause a funeral. Love the song, have to point out the irony.
Here I go trying to think of some good songs that won't be in style when I die. 5. Beat it by Michael Jackson. One of the older songs I know, it holds my heart as one of the few old gen songs that I actually like. Nice rhythm, good lyrics, and a night to remember. 4. Zombie by Cranberries/Bad Wolves. I don't care which band it is played by, Zombie is one of the few mental songs that I agreed with. It depicts loss in a war, the death of many, and those who have lost everything. It holds a place in my heart for these reasons, and because I just want to push through what hurts. 3. Rise by Skillet. What is with me and Rock right now? Well, it's only because some of the best songs are written by Rock bands like Skillet and Shinedown. Rise isn't one of my favorite songs, but it's still got a good rhythm and great lyrics. 2. Anti-Gravity by Runaground. "All the blood that we're bleeding could fill up a broken heart. The feelings we're feeling could be used to light the dark. But we're Anti-Gravity, lock down humanity." Anything else? 1. Courtesy Call by Thousand Foot Crutch. First song memorized, first song important enough to make me care about music. This is one of the greatest songs in the world in my opinion, and I'd just love if it was played there.
