A game that doesn't deserve to be good

There's no game that doesn't deserve to be good. It's all up to opinion. For example, I could say that Call of Duty is lame, and that it doesn't deserve to be popular, but there's about a million other people would disagree with me, it's just up to opinion.

 

I'm not too much of a COD fan either, because it is very repetitive like you said, but so is battling over and over on Pokémon games when you think about it. One could argue that Pokémon is even more repetitive because at least COD has different maps when you play multiplayer, Pokémon just has one generic stadium over wi-fi/IR. People that like 1st-person shooters love COD because it has excellent graphics for that genre. In the graphics department I can totally justify why COD is well-renowned, since graphics and story are the two big components to a game (and story is irrelevant since most people play 1st-person shooters to fight over wi-fi).

 

I pretty much agree with Achromatic. All games deserve to be good; that's what all games are supposed to be, good. The only games that are called "bad" are just called that way because of that person's personal opinion. I can't think of any games that deserve to be bad; it'd have to be in terrible taste, like making fun of a sad subject or something to actually DESERVE to be bad. o.o

 

I agree with Ben and everyone else here. It's all a matter of opinion and perspective. To them, COD makes their day go by, and it's fun, so they like it. To us, Pokémon makes our days go by and it's fun, so we like it.

I would say games like Minecraft and GASP Animal Crossing, but it's my opinion. It's not a fact, so I won't present it as one.

However, in my opinion it's easily Call of Duty. It's entertaining, but I'd never rate it five stars. That's just my opinion. I'm sure there are people out there who love Call of Duty, but I'm not one of them.

 

I think a game deserves to be as good as the fanbase makes it out to be. It is the fanbase that buys and enjoys the game after all, even if someone else doesn't.

 

Sorry mate, but I have to agree with Achro and everyone else. No game deserves to be bad, it is just judged on personal opinion. Yes, COD is repetitively stupid and FPSs don't appeal to me, but it has a great fanbase. At least it isn't "Here at Apple, we say, if it ain't broke, say it's obsolete, change how it looks and sell it again." (tobuscus)

 

Every game deserves to be good....except one for me.....and that would be Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and why? Well, I actually ended up liking the game AFTER i had to find a guide to find out how to get past the first part!!!! I got lost toooooo many times in the beginning so in the end I just looked it up and after that I actually thought the game was quite good (just a tad confusing for me).
