What's a game you like or liked but is actually known to be bad. I like "God Hand" one of my fav PS2 games, but apparently the game was so bad back then, the company got bankrupted from low sales. I also like "Dynasty Warriors", "Samurai Warriors" and "Warriors Orochi" series.
I love these "Hack and Slash" games but it's just not as popular than it is in places like Japan. I liked "Shadow the Hedgehog" but I heard it was TERRIBLE.

Post your story of a terrible game you liked.

I've never looked up if they're considered bad games but I guess because the company that made them (Cing) went bankrupt, they are bad games? Anyway the games are Trace Memory and Hotel Dusk Room 215.

Metroid: Other M. Good gameplay, great graphics for a Ninetendo console, but a terrible story. People bag on it so much for turning Samus into a wuss. I can see why they'd think that, and I can too, but people hate the game for those reasons only.

I guess I'll be the one to say it. Sonic the Hedgehog '06 was NOT a bad game. I dont have any idea why people say its so bad, realy. Unless you are looking at the game through strict, Sonic adventure battle 2 fanboy glasses, it is actually one of the better sonic games of the time, despite the hint of furrie fettish shit in it :P
Compaired to, say, sonic and the secret rings, its far from the worst sonic game even if you didnt like it.

First of all, I need to mention that there are a LOTS of obscure gaming in the legacy collection (you could call it as "retro also) which are pretty underrated and didn't get the attention they should. Legend of Dragoon is a good example, a really good jRPG, or Jade Cocoon, one of my favourite games from the PSX library.

Big Rigs Over the Road. It's so bad that it's fun to play, and even thought it lacks multiplayer (and anything what a normal game has), but if you can play it with friends along, it's one of the funniest games ever.

Dynasty Warriors are hated because of its genre, and the haters says it's repetitive, even thought they didn't play a minute with it. Most of these haters are FPS fans, how ironic...

Speaking of legacy gaming, the "infamous sequels" on the NES are also considered as bad or mediocre compared to its predecessors (for example: Castlevania II, Zelda II, Mario II), but I think, except the cryptic clues, they are pretty decent... still better than the games nowadays. If the topic's title was "games you hate but considered good", I'd definitely say most games nowadays.

A lot of people I know believe Final Fantasy 12 was one of the worst FFs but to me it's one of my favorites. I've played through the story quite a few times and I love it every time. :D

I can't decide if FF XIII or FF XIV is the worst: the first one is a complete mini-series with really bad episodes, while the latter was so bad that it needed to be relaunched, and I'm pretty sure that this new "A Real Reborn" won't be as good as they predict. Hopefully, FF XV seems really promising. But not FF XII is the worst in the series.

Sonic '06 wasn't a bad game, really. Don't understand why people gripe on it. I knew a guy that hated it solely for the furry thing you mentioned, and I wanted to slap the shit out of him. One, because I'm a furry and he was downright disrespecting me, and two, because that's just a terrible reason to hate a game. People need to grow up and focus on the good things, not the bad.

I don't know if I've ever been in this situation. I don't play that many games so there aren't many that I play and people consider bad.
I'll tell you what, though, Iron Man 2 for the PS3 just rolls around in the fact that it's a movie-release tie-in, and you can definitely see it, but I just love it anyway. The story is piss weak and hard to follow, the game just breezes past all the nice level designs, the human characters looks really weird, and some of the graphics are really cheap, but the game play is so good and you can have a lot of fun with it.

Pokémon Battle Revolution and Shadow the hedgehog. Both of these games were amazing imo and i would definitely replay them. But as always theres people to critique and whine about every detail in a game with out seeing the good it has to offer. I mean come on Sonic 06 was utter crap and Shadow the hedgehog gets more flack than it

Every Sonic the Hedgehog fan I have ever talked to... Stares me down, as if I were a completely insane and crazy person that needs her head examined when I say this...

But I actually really adore the Sonic R game for the computer.

The cheesy one with the chick singing calm and unfitting music while you race around in levels where they seem unfinished? The one where the controls stink and walls have some sort of magnetic pull, dragging you over to them and getting you stuck? Tails doll anyone? Terrible graphics, though at the time they were pretty awesome?

Yeah. That one. I actually like it. Despite it being rather terrible for a Sonic game, it was actually fun for me. Yes I got mad at it quite a bit. Cursed at the walls and the random water holes that appear. But I enjoyed playing it. Because in the end, I decided to find ways to just get Sonic (or whatever character I choose, which was usually Metal Sonic) stuck into walls and glitch about. The music, to me, was catchy. Though not fitting for a racing game but I usually sang along with the lyrics and actually have them on my ipod. Yes. I have them on my ipod.

I'm not ashamed of saying that I like Sonic R. And I do kind of wish they made another version of it. Hopefully a lot better and with better controls. Maybe more fitting music. No, Sonic Riders isn't really what I'm talking about. Even though those games are kinda fun too.

    ----

I have to comment about the sonic '06 conversation above. Just cuz I'm a ranter about the game. And till this day, it is my least favorite game. HOWEVER, I am willing to give it another try, once I find another copy of it. I have heard the story isn't actually that bad and if you can get past the glitching and the fails, it's not a bad game.

In all blunt honesty. That girl (forgot her name) appeared to me, as a useless female that needs help all the time. A damsel in distress. (Hate those characters >:L ) I admit that her kissing Sonic really annoyed me to the point where I made her one of my least favorite characters in the Sonic universe. Yes. I am one of those fangirls that like Amy x Sonic. Shoot me if you must, but I was really all ASDFH about the situation.

    BUT!!!

It wasn't what made me dislike the game.

For the very short amount of time when I had someones PS3 and their game, what killed the game for me was the loading. I cannot stand games where it takes more time to load than it does to do anything else. I don't know if it was just a ps3 thing or not, but that's what really killed the game for me. Graphics didn't bother me, thought they were okay. Voice acting...I've seen worse happen in the sonic univers cough SonicFreeRiders cough. And... i still hate the girl >:L

There's a squad based combat RPG called The Last Remnant that I love, but it's very underrated and not favorably reviewed, The battle system takes a slight bit to get used to at first, the same with equipping your troops other than your main guy, but once you get it down it's a fun game. It deserves more praise than it gets.
