I blame @[member="Sanctuary"] for this big time MEGA'S SIGNATURES Welcome to [member="Megarai111"]'s very own Portfolio, where she will be dumping some signatures from throughout the ages months! I guess I could write up a lot of text and reminisce about how the past was so much better than the present, but I guess it's best if I don't, lol. Instead, I'm just gonna categorize in Arceus-knows-what-kind-of-categories, so you can just look through it on your own pace. Since I'm still such a lover of expressing myself though, I AM gonna add paragraphs of text in between the sigs, so prepare yourself using a translator on the titles won't work - I'll tell you in advance. Hail hail hail arg vroegah Spoiler Here they are! The first two images I ever made using my signature software, Picmonkey. They're very basic, but I believe I made these long before I decided to become active on LV, so that must mean they're from... one year ago? Yeah, that sounds about right... It was during the time I was still doing the Inazuma Eleven RP with [member="Thunder"], that's for sure... Ain hail stuk latah in de taid maar nog staids vroegah Spoiler ..I don't even have any words for this one, lol. I think I would do a much better job if I were to try it again, but unfortunately, this Don Patch render isn't that high-quality, so if I really were to re-do it, I'd have to find a high-quality fanart and render it myself, but Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo is such an unknown (and fairly old) show, it's pretty much impossible to find a nice render (I never used this signature btw) Ah, the Undertale craze from last November... nope, all of these signatures are most definitely from before the time I decided to become active, lol. I actually made these in Microsoft Word... Look closely at the Temmie one and you'll be able to see, but it's much harder to see with the Mettaton one. Zain we al bai iets mindah vroegah aangekomah? Spoiler These are all from late March/early April 2016. My signatures really got on a roll here, so I got to the point where I pretty much created a new one every week and actually ended up using it, lol. I guess it must've been pretty confusing, oops... Call this a guilty pleasure, but I still have a small thing for this man, lol... Mikisugi is hilarious, lol. Nudisto Beachu! The signature I created while creating my Picmonkey tutorial... You know, now that I put 10000x more time into my signatures, I should consider remaking it or maybe creating a second one with "advanced" edits or whatever... even though they're not really advanced, they're just things I figured out, lol. Anyway, I'll consider doing it when the next holiday pops up Als die drie spoilahs hierbovah de Prehistorie, Romainse Taid en de Middelaiwen voorstellah, is dit dan de vroegmodernah taid? Spoiler Awww... My signature when I first became a Moderator, back in May! How touching :') I finally begin to discover some real effects for my pictures, so from here on out, they'll require me more time to make, but they slowly but surely begin to look better and better. The Oikawa sig because [member="Wyxamex"] convinced me, and the Kyoko sig because I needed to have a girl on my signatures for once (and I just so happened to be watching a Danganronpa Let's Play at the time, so it worked out well). These are from late May/early June. Modernah taid? INTERNAT??????? AINDELAIK, IK WAS AL ONGEDAHLDIG AAN HET WORDAH... Spoiler Ah, finally back in "known" territory! I'm really starting to discover new things around this time, so most of the signatures are kinda hit-or-miss, lol. The Yukihira Soma signature posted in the spoiler block above this one is the first time I really got experimenting, but that was more of a miss than a hit, oops... still, we're getting there! Xander is still very hot I didn't make this one with Picmonkey, but I guess that was pretty noticeable, lol. I made this one using my phone, which is the first and last time ever. The signature itself turned out nice, but after having used Picmonkey for so many months, it was very hard to use a new program all of a sudden, and even when I managed to get it right, resizing the image would only result in terrible quality, which was a shame... this really was the best I could do. Now that BSD season 2 is nearing, I should consider creating another Kunikida sig... My entry for the Summer Spectacular signature contest. I didn't win, but it looks good nonetheless. my current crushMy first Jumin signature... I've begun to create my own renders of fanarts on a frequent basis (I did it before for the Ginti and Barnham sig I posted earlier), so I'm no longer limited to the already available renders on the internet, which is great. I won't hesitate to use pre-made renders though because they save me a lot of time. more jumin aaaaah THIS. THIS THING. THIS THING OVER HERE. THIS THING TOOK ME TWO DAMN HOURS TO MAKE! Remember how I used to say I spent only 10 minutes on a signature? Well, all that changed after the Fire Nation attacked because I simply can't do a half-assed job, and now that I've learned how to really utilize this program, I HAVE to use it. Not that I mind though, this is one of my masterpieces so far and I'm in love with it and with Jumin... The first time I redid an entire signature... It looks good though, Chris almost seems to glow Stuff I did for other people In chronological order. Spoiler Well, that's it for now! If you enjoyed those, I tend to make free signatures every once in a while, so maybe you'll get lucky and find something in your inbox one day If not, feel free to ask me, the chance is I'll actually end up creating one for you, lol. Anyway, that's it for now! I'll probably add some more every once in a while, but for now, just enjoy this @[member="Sanctuary"] CURSE YOU DAD I SPENT ONE AND A HALF HOURS ON THIS
Nice stuff! I just thought I'd give you a few tips from experience. Avoid reducing the opacity on the render. The render will generally be your focal point, and reducing the opacity does the opposite of what a focal should do, it draws attention away from it. Blending is important but there are other ways of going about this such as placing effects in front of the render and just generally making the render fit in to the background through lighting and colouring, and honestly reducing the opacity doesn't really help that much here anyway, it just kind of makes the render seem like a ghost. Maintain the aspect ratio. On everything you use. This is less relevant to your more recent sigs but for the Yukihira Soma one the render is clearly distorted, as are the circular effects around the border of the Dawn one. There are only very specific circumstances where you should ever change the aspect ratio. When it comes to text, less is more. Honestly, I think every single one of these signatures would look better if you removed the text. Text should be unobtrusive and explain the signature without taking away from it. This is the opposite of what it is doing here. Using such large text draws attention away from the focal, as does using bright and seemingly random colours for some of these (for example the one you made for Endrew). Try to keep it small (as opposed to taking up half of the signature), use colours from the signature itself and try to keep it all roughly together as opposed to scattered across the signature. Also try to keep it close to the focal as to not distract from it. Sorry if this sounds negative, these are just things I wish somebody told me when I first started. Looking forward to seeing more from you
It's okay, I appreciate you taking the time to type that up Picmonkey is more basic than Photoshop (at least as far as I know, I only use Picmonkey because it's easy to use, free and accessible via my browser), so my editing options are pretty limited, but especially now that I've really begun experimenting with all of the different features, I feel like things are starting to blend in more. Next time I make a signature, I'll try to keep those tips you gave me in mind, especially the text one Again, thanks
