Summary: The Legendary Pokémon are having their annual get-together, but this year, Arceus decides to invite Ash Ketchum to the celebrations. How will things turn out? Fell free to leave reviews on this, but please spoiler them so they don't take up too much space. Spoiler: Chapter 1 Here goes a new story. I can't promise that this will update too often, but I will try to update as fast as possible. This story is based right after Ash beats Leon in the World Coronation Series (Before Aim to be a Pokémon Master). Introduction "Mew!" called Arceus. "Hi, Arcy!" said Mew, appearing with a flash of pink light. "Whatcha need?" "Well, as you know, it's almost time for our vacation week," said Arceus, "and I have a special assignment for you," "Oh, let me guess!" said Mew, "Is it eating all the candy in the world? Or is it making a bunch of toys? Or is it…" "Mew," Mew paused for a second and looked at Arceus. "Yeah?" "Let me give you a hint," said Arceus, "do you remember a boy named Ash Ketchum?" "Hmm, let me think," Mew paused for a second. "Oh! That super nice but not very smart kid with a Pikachu? "Yes, him," said Arceus, chuckling slightly at Mew's description of Ash, "now, do you want to guess what your mission is?" "Keep him from dying?" asked Mew. "No," "Play with him?" "Closer," "I give up, what is it?" said Mew. "Here," said Arceus, handing Mew a letter. "Your mission is to deliver this letter to the Chosen One-" "That's it?" asked Mew, "BORING," Arceus sighed. "I didn't finish Mew. Now, your mission is to deliver this letter to the Chosen One as an invitation to this year's celebrations in the Hall of Origin." "He's coming here?" "Yes, I have considered inviting him for a while, but this year, I decided it was time to invite him," replied Arceus. "Oh, yeah! This is going to be fun!" said Mew, "See ya later Arcy, I have a letter to deliver!" Arceus smiled as Mew teleported out of the Hall of Origin. That settled one matter. Now, to somehow get all of the other legendaries without destroying the universe… With Ash Ketchum… "Well buddy," said Ash, "what do you think we should do next? I mean, we've come a long way, winning the Alola league and beating Leon, but, I can't figure out what to do next," "Chu Pika-pi!" said Pikachu, jumping on Ash's shoulder. Ash was like this after winning the Alola league and Pikachu knew he just had to cheer his trainer up a little. Though now that he thought about it, what could top beating Leon? Oh well, he could figure that out later. "Hi Ash!" "Ahh!" Ash jumped back, startled. He then realized that the bright flash of light in front of him was caused by none other than a certain giggling pink cat. "Mew, what are you doing here?" "I have a letter for you from Arcy!" said Mew, handing Ash a small white envelope. "Arcy?" asked Ash, not remembering anyone by that name. "Oh, you would probably know him better as Arceus," replied Mew, "but Arcy's more fun to say, don't you think? Anyway, go ahead and open your letter!" Ash took the envelope from Mew, wondering if it was another 'Hey, there are some powerful bad guys around. Could you please come to save the world again?' kinda thing. Not that he minded, but getting killed (or almost getting killed, which happened nearly every time he met a legendary) wasn't very fun, especially once you know what it feels like (not good). Pushing those thoughts aside, he took the envelope from Mew and opened it. To Ash Ketchum, the Chosen One, from Lord Arceus: Ash, most people don't know this. In fact, no one does, but we Legendaries have a week-long vacation every year as a way to take a break from our duties for a while. You might be wondering why I am mentioning this. The reason is that, this year, we would like to invite you to join us as a special guest. If anything, consider this a thank you for all the help you have given us since you started your journey. If you wish to accept this invitation, check the YES box at the bottom of this letter. Sincerely, Lord Arceus P.S. You may bring your Pikachu with you if you want, but it would be best if this was kept a secret. I'm sure you understand. Please check one of the boxes below: YESㅁ NO ㅁ Ash blinked. He hadn't heard from Arceus for a while but here, right in front of him was an invitation to visit all the legendary Pokémon he had made friends with. Looking at Mew who was impatiently waiting for him to read the letter, he took the floating pink pen that had conveniently popped out of mid-air and checked the YES box on the paper before handing the letter back to Mew. "K!" said Mew, taking the envelope. "I'll take you there when everyone's ready. See ya!" "Wait! Where is there?!" called Ash to the now empty space of pink sparkles where Mew had been milliseconds before. "Oh well, I guess we'll just have to find out, huh buddy?" "Pika," replied Pikachu, considering if he wanted to be somewhere with Ash and literally every legendary Pokémon in existence. That's the introduction, after this, there will be 7 more chapters (one for each day of the week) or more if I decide to split up some days. Spoiler: Chapter 2 Day 1 Part 1 Location: The Hall of Origin "Hi everyone! Come on in!" Mew cheerfully greeted. Today was the first day of the legendary and mythical Pokémon's yearly vacation. Mew was currently ushering them all into the Hall of Origin. As soon as they were all in the main hall, Arceus got ready to speak. "Welcome everyone! Before you all go off to your rooms, I have a few announcements to make. First, the rules. I know I have said this literally millions of times before, but some of us," Arceus eyed a few specific legendaries. "Seem to need reminding. No fighting of any kind is allowed, except for battles in the arena. This includes arguing, insulting each other, and attacking each other. Am I clear?" A collective nod showed they all understood (or so Arceus hoped). "Secondly, I would like to tell you all that I have decided to invite a special guest this year." "Who is it?" asked Keldeo. Arceus chuckled. "I'll let you guess. It's someone you all know very well…" No one seemed to know (well, except maybe a certain pink cat), so he continued, "And his partner is a Pikachu," "Ash?!" came the response. Arceus nodded. "As a little compensation for all he has done, and a bunch of you bugging me about it, I invited him this year. Yes, the Hall of Origin is for legendary and mythical Pokémon only, but I believe it's the least we could do for someone who had helped us so much." "I know he's very nice," said Dialga, "but are you sure it's a good idea to invite a human to the Hall of Origin?" "I don't know about your encounters with him," said Giratina "but I'm sure he's trustworthy. He basically saved my life after this crazy guy named Zero tried to drain all my power. Speaking of which, it was your fault that he managed to catch me in the first place!" "What do you mean it was my fault?" asked Dialga. "Don't act all innocent you pathetic excuse for a clock!" yelled Giratina, "You're the one who locked me in my dimension with your stupid time loop!" "Well yeah," said Dialga "because you were trying to kill me!" "Only because you and Palkia were making a mess of my dimension!" "It was Dialga's fault!" shouted Palkia, "He started it!" "ENOUGH!" roared Arceus, causing Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina to stop yelling and turn around. "Can't you three go one day without fighting? There is ONE rule here, and you three can't even obey it! You are supposed to be the CREATION trio, NOT the DESTRUCTION trio! If you can't stop fighting and bickering, I'll lock you in your dimensions for the rest of the week!" "Yes Father," said Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, still glaring at each other. "Anyway," continued Arceus, "since the Chosen One is coming, I expect you all to be on your best behavior. We want this to be a nice visit for him. Am I understood?" A collective nodd bade Arceus continue. "Alright then, Mew, why don't you go get him?" "On it Arcy!" With Ash and Pikachu… "ZZZZZ…" Ash Ketchum was currently asleep. Curled up beside him was his partner, Pikachu. Why was he asleep at 10:00 in the morning? The answer was quite simple and could be found in the form of a broken alarm clock not too far away from the bed. "WAKE UP!" Ash jerked out of his sleep, almost banging his head on the ceiling. He groaned, only to see a giggling Mew in his room. "Mew! What was that for?" "Oh, oopsie!" *giggles* "Arcy told me to come to get you. It's time for the party to get started!" "Right," said Ash, rubbing his head "just let me grab my stuff," A Few Minutes Later… "Ok Mew, I'm ready to go!" said Ash. "Alright, hang on!" said Mew as she focused her energy on Ash and Pikachu. After a brief flash of light (special with pink confetti), they had teleported away. Meanwhile… "Ok," said Arceus, "remember, don't overwhelm the Chosen One. If you want to talk to him, try to keep it one or two at a time. Now, if you have any questions you can come talk to me later. For now, this meeting is dismissed." As all of the Pokémon left the meeting room, Arceus sighed. He had hoped that this time, there would be no conflicts between Legendaries. But, as always, some kind of fight HAD to break out. He had anticipated this but didn't expect it to be on the FIRST day BEFORE he had finished the opening announcements. 'Oh well,' he thought, 'maybe having the Chosen One here will prevent any more arguments since most of them seem to have some respect for him,' With Ash and Pikachu… Ash felt odd. Kind of like he had been teleported but the teleportation was incomplete. He opened his eyes to find himself sitting in a small pink cart. 'Huh? Is this where Mew is taking me?' He thought. Just before he started thinking that the legendary Pokémon gathered in a dimension with pink clouds, a pink sky, and… were those giant gumballs? He realized that he was moving. He also realized that the 'pink cart' was, in fact, part of a very long roller coaster, and that said roller coaster had just reached the top of a very high peak. 'Uh oh,' was his last thought before the roller coaster shot down, heading towards the defenetily-not-1000-foot-tall loop the loops. "Hey, Arcy! I'm back!" said Mew as she appeared in the Hall of Origin with a flash of light. "Good, where's the Chosen One?" asked Arceus. "Oh," said Mew, eyes glowing for a second, "here they are!" She revealed a dazed Ash and Pikachu who, for some reason, looked like they had just been on a wild roller coaster ride. "Mew!" scolded Arceus, "I thought I told you to go easy on the teleporting!" "Whoopsie!" said Mew, playfully flipping upside down. Arceus sighed, having a feeling Mew had remembered his instructions perfectly well. As Ash recovered, he looked around him. "Huh? Arceus?" Arceus nodded towards him. "Greetings, Chosen One, I apologize if the travel here was a little rough," "It's fine," said Ash, slowly getting up, "I know what Mew is like," Arceus chuckled. "Indeed you do. Now, I'm going to give you a little gift which I believe you'll find quite useful during your visit." He reached out and tapped Ash on the head. Ash blinked. "What exactly did that do?" "Give it some time; maybe it takes a while," said a voice next to him. Ash turned around. "Who said that?" "Me, of course. Who else would it be?" Ash turned around. "Pikachu? Is that you?" "Yeah, why?" "I can understand you?" said Ash, "That means…" "Yes, Chosen One," said Arceus, "as you have noticed you now have the ability to understand Pokémon," "Wow," said Ash, thinking of how useful this would be, and decided he was going to have a chat will all his Pokémon as soon as he got home. "Just to let you know," said Arceus, "I've put you in room 35. You and Pikachu will be staying there for the week," "Okay," said Ash, "uh, where is it exactly?" "Here, I'll take you!" said Mew. Before Ash could protest, she grabbed him by the hand and teleported. When Ash recovered from another crazy teleportation, this time out of a pink cannon that shot him into a pink cloud made of cotton candy, he noticed that they were in front of a door marked '35' in large gold lettering. "K, have fun!" shouted Mew as she shot off. "Wait, Mew!" said Ash, but Mew was already long gone, "Oh well," Ash opened the door and took in his surroundings. The room was very large, with two beds in one corner of the room. There was one about his size, with one Pikachu's size next to it. On one side of the room, there were a few windows that showed a view of a beautiful garden. A large chandelier hung from the ceiling and lit up the room with hundreds of tiny lights. "Wow," said Ash, "this is really nice, huh buddy?" "Yeah…" said Pikachu. Ash flopped on the bed and let out a satisfied "Ahh!" Just as he was about to doze off, the door opened, and two Pokémon flew in. Ash jumped up, startled. "Azelf? Victini?" The two said Pokémon immediately flew over to him. Ash smiled. "Hi, guys. Nice to see you again!" Azelf and Victini looked equally pleased to see him. "Ash!" said Azelf, "I was wondering when you would get here!" "You knew I was coming?" asked Ash. "Yeah," said Victini, "Arceus announced it this morning. I couldn't wait until you came!" "Me too!" said Azelf, "The only time I got to see you after stopping Team Galactic was when we had to defeat them all over again." "And I never got to thank you for freeing me from the barriers at Eindoak Town," said Victini. "It's no problem," said Ash, "I just do what I can." "Ash," said Azelf, "sometimes, I don't think you realize the magnitude of the things you have done for us," "What do you mean?" asked Ash. "You do know that regularly saving legendary's lives and stopping evil humans is not something that most people do, right?" asked Victini. "Well," said Ash, "I knew I was helping out a bit, but…" "Come on Ash," said Azelf, " Why do you think Arceus invited you here?" "Because I'm the Chosen One?" asked Ash. "Yeah," said Azelf, "but there have been many, many Chosen Ones throughout the centuries. YOU are the first one ever to enter the Hall of Origin. Arceus invited you alone have proven yourself worthy." Victini nodded. "Yeah, you promised you would help me get to the ocean and you even died trying to help me get there," "Well, you're all my friends, right?" said Ash, "So I'm just doing my best to help a friend," Azelf sighed. "I guess you could put it that way," "Anyway," said Victini, "do you remember Latias?" "Yeah of course!" said Ash, "How could I forget?" "Well," continued Victini, "she might have a little surprise for you," "Suprise?" asked Ash. "Yeah, wanna go see her?" "Sure!" said Ash, "Where is she?" "Follow me," said Azelf, "I think I remember where she and her- I mean where she was staying." Ash, being the dense person he was, didn't notice Azelf's slip-up much to Willpower Pokémon's relief. Pikachu, however, did but couldn't quite figure out what Azelf was going to say. Several minutes of walking (floating, levitating, whatever) later, they arrived at another large door. Ash opened it and saw a room similar to his, it had two beds, one slightly smaller than the other. "Hey Latias!" said Victini, "Ash is here!" One blurry figure later, Ash found himself on the floor, being nuzzled by yet another psychic-type legendary. "Hi Latias!" said Ash, "Good to see you again!" Latias levitated off him. "Good to see you too Ash! I missed you so much after you left." "Yeah, sorry about that," said Ash, "I meant to come to visit, but things got in the way…" "Also, you probably forgot," said Pikachu flatly. "Didn't!" said Ash, "Well… not on purpose…" Pikachu groaned. "No one forgets things on purpose," "Exactly, so it wasn't my fault!" said Ash triumphantly. Pikachu sighed. "Anyway Latias, what's the surprise?" "Oh!" said Latias, "I'll be right back!" She did a few flips in excitement before zooming off to another part of the room. "Brother!" "What is it, sis?" asked a voice. "Come here!" Ash was confused. Did Latias just say brother? "Latios!?" exclaimed Ash in surprise as the blue dragon flew toward him. "Ah it's you Ash," said Latios, "I was wondering what Latias was so excited about. Good to see you," "But I thought-" started Ash. "Right, that," said Latios, "well, it's a long story, but apparently something you did to the timeline revived me somehow." "What exactly did I do to the timeline?" asked Ash. "I don't know the details," said Latios, "Dialga gave a very vague answer…" "Hmm, maybe I'll ask Celebi later," mused Ash. "Ash," said Latios, snapping Ash back to reality, "I want to ask you something." "What is it?" asked Ash. "Well, I've heard from a lot of legendaries and my sister of course, but I wanted to know for myself. Why do you do what you do?" "All what?" said Ash, slightly confused. "Why do you constantly help anyone in need?" asked Latios, "I mean it's not like you're getting a reward for helping them," "Oh," said Ash, "I never really thought of that. I guess the reward is kind of in the thing itself, you know, that feeling you get when you do something nice for someone." "Very commendable," said Latios, "I see why so many legendaries trust you so much. Personally, I never got to thank you for helping me and my sister in Altomare so I wanted to thank you for that," "It was no problem," said Ash, "I'm sorry I couldn't do more, you died after all…" "Hey Ash!" said Latias, trying to brighten the conversation a little, "What are you going to do now since you're the strongest trainer in the world?" "You know about that?" asked Ash. "Yeah, Arceus had all the Legendaries to watch your match in the Hall of Origin," replied Latias. Ash gulped. "Well, I'm glad I won then," He was glad that he hadn't known ALL of the Legendary Pokémon were watching him. If he did, he would have been a lot more nervous. "So, what are you going to do?" asked Latias. "I don't know," said Ash, "I've traveled through all the regions and done everything I could think of… but I guess I can always decide later," Before Latias could respond, a bell rang. "Oh, it's time for lunch!" said Victini, "Hey, Ash, race you there!" Ash watched as all of them except Latios and Pikachu zipped away. Ash turned to Latios. "Um, do you know where they're going?" Latios nodded. "Here, I'll give you a ride there," he lowered himself so Ash could get on his back. Ash got on Latios and nodded towards Pikachu who quickly hopped onto his shoulder. As soon as Pikachu got on, Latios took off in the direction of Latias, Azelf, and Victini. Notes: Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Spoiler: Chapter 3 Day 1 Part 2 After Lunch… "How have you been, Chosen One?" asked Giratina. "Well, considering I just won the World Corrination Series, I guess I'm doing pretty well," said Ash. "I was very interested in your battle," said Lugia, "especially your Z-moves. How exactly do you use them?" "It's kind of a feeling you get, and then, Whoosh! Bam!" said Ash, waving his arms to illustrate the motion. "Then all that energy inside of you gets released, and suddenly it goes Kazam! Right, buddy?" Pikachu, Lugia, and Griatina sweatdropped. "Yeah, that's the gest of it," replied Pikachu. "I'm more interested in that Dynamax band of yours," said Giratina, gesturing to the band on Ash's wrist. "You mean Gigantimax?" asked Ash, "Well, that's sort of the same as Z-moves, but a lot different. You have to use the same energy, but you have to restrain it at the same time so it lasts longer." "Do you think Z-moves and Dynamax are possible without having to use the band or the crystals?" asked Lugia. "I know Gigantamaxing is," said Ash, "I've seen it happen before with Eternatus, I don't know about Z-moves though. They might be, but I've never tried one without using a crystal so…" "I'll have to ask Eternatus about that," said Giratina, "it might be useful to be able to Giagantimax sometime… Well anyway, it was nice talking to you, Chosen One, however, I must go now. There are a few things I have to attend to." "I must go as well," said Lugia, "Farewell, Chosen One. It has been a pleasure to talk to you again," "Ok, bye!" said Ash, waving to the two legendaries. "Hi Ash! Remember me?" Ash turned to see a sky-form Shaymin standing (or floating rather) behind him. "Hi Shaymin!" said Ash, "Nice to see you! How have you been?" "Pretty good; I found a nice garden to stay in after we defeated that Zero guy." Ash smiled before rummaging in his backpack. "What are you doing?" asked Shaymin. "Give me one sec…" said Ash, "Ah ha! Here it is!" He handed a few poffins to Shaymin. "Yum! Thanks!" said Shaymin, munching down on the poffins, "Did you make these?" "No, Dawn made them," replied Ash, "She said to give them to you if I saw you," "Shoulda known you couldn't make something this good," said Shaymin. "Can too!" said Ash. "By saying you can," said Pikachu, "do you mean the burnt poffins, the spoiled soup, or something else?" "Two against one," Ash sighed. "Don't worry, I'm sure you're good at something," said Shaymin. "Like battles," said Pikachu, "don't you forget that Mr. Champion," "You know," said Ash, "it's still hard to picture myself as champion." "Well, you better," said Pikachu, "or someone else will take your picture for you," Ash groaned. "So, are you a Pokémon Master yet?" asked Shaymin. "Honestly, I don't know," said Ash, scratching his head, "I mean, I kinda want to be, but it doesn't feel like I am one yet," "Well, if anyone's a Pokémon Master, you definitely are," said Shaymin, "unless, of course, being a Pokémon Master involves being able to cook a decent meal," Ash laughed, "It better not be," "If it is, you'd be doomed before you even started your journey," said Pikachu. "Yeah," said Shaymin, "anyway, tell Dawn I said thanks for the poffins. Gotta go!" "K, bye!" said Ash. "See ya later!" "Greetings Ash," "Oh, hi Mewtwo," said Ash, turning to face the Genetic Pokémon. "Chosen One," said Mewtwo, smiling slightly, "it's been a while, hasn't it?" "Yeah…" said Ash, trailing off, "Listen Mewtwo, if you came to apologize for killing me on New Island, don't worry about it. It's ok, really," Mewtwo chuckled. "I appreciate your kindness, Chosen One, there are not many who would forgive so easily," "Don't worry about it," said Ash, "I've been through worse," "Worse?" Mewtwo chuckled, "There was something I was wondering though," "What is it?" asked Ash. "I was wondering why you called me a friend. It seems to me that I would have been your enemy at the time, considering the circumstances," "You weren't really an enemy," said Ash, "you just didn't know that there were good people out there. After all, you had to face the hands of Team Rocket." "Well, regardless, jumping between two powerful attacks like that was a very brave thing to do. It may have lacked some intelligence, but it was brave," "I guess it was just instinct," replied Ash mareepishly. "That's true," commented Pikachu, "you've died what- like 6 or 7 times?" "Yeah, that sounds about right." said Ash, "Dying isn't fun though, even when you get used to it," "That much?" questioned Mewtwo, "May I ask what from?" "Well," started Ash, "the first time was when a Haunter removed my spirit from my body, but I don't know if that counts. The second time was with you and Mew at New Island. The third time was when I got eaten by a giant blob thing at the Tree of Beginning. The fourth time was at the sea temple Samiya when it flooded, and I had to go put the last crystal in the Sea Crown. The fifth time was when I froze to death trying to save Victini in Eindoak Town. The last was when I got hit with tons of attacks while trying to find Ho-oh with the Rainbow Feather although I have a feeling that was from a different timeline…" "So, in addition to stopping Mew and me from fighting, you visited the Tree of Beginning, were in Manaphy's secret temple, saved Victini's life, and became Ho-oh's Chosen One?" "That's most of it," replied Ash, "there's more, but I didn't die those times." "You sure get yourself into a lot of trouble." Mewtwo chuckled, "Anyway, it was nice talking to you, Ash. I thank you again for what you taught me at New Island," with that, Mewtwo disappeared with a small flash of light. Ash smiled, then turned to Pikachu, "Hey, buddy, what do you say we call it a day?" "Alright," said Pikachu, "Just make sure you wake up at a reasonable hour; otherwise I'll have to shock you," "Do you have to do that?" asked Ash. "Would you rather miss an all-you-can-eat breakfast?" Ash groaned. "You know what, fine, but only because it's for a good reason," "Don't worry," said Pikachu, "I wouldn't shock you otherwise," Pikachu chuckled while Ash processed his last statement as they headed back to their room. Spoiler: Chapter 4 Day 2 "Hi Ash!" "Oh, hi Keldeo!" said Ash as the colt Pokémon trotted up to him, "How are you doing?" "I'm doing great!" said Keldeo, "I wanted to thank you for helping me become a Sword of Justice. I don't think I would have been able to learn Secret Sword without your help." "You're welcome," said Ash, "have you been able to beat Kyurem yet?" "Not yet," replied Keldeo, "I'm much closer now, but he's still a little stronger than me." "With the way you're going," said Ash, "I'm sure you'll be able to do it very soon." "Yeah!" said Keldeo, "That's why I'm going to train extra hard after this short vacation." "Great!" said Ash, "Let me know if you beat him," "You'll be the first one to know," said Keldeo, "after all, without your help, I would probably still be in training." Ash scratched his head. "Hey, it was no trouble," "I know, but it still means a lot to me." said Keldeo, grinning, "Anyway, I have to go now, but I'll visit you as soon as I can. You live in Pallet Town, right?" "Yeah," said Ash, "although I'm not there very often…" "I'm sure I can find you," said Keldeo, "it was great seeing you. I hope you have a great time here!" "K, bye Keldeo!" "Bye!" "You really helped him a lot you know, I checked the timeline, and if you didn't help him, he would still be trying to learn Secret Sword." "Celebi!" exclaimed Ash, "How are you doing?" "Great!" said Celebi, "Just wondering, have you found Sammy yet?" "No," said Ash, "I've been looking for him, but I can't seem to find him," Celebi giggled, "You've already met him you know," "I have?" asked Ash. "Yep!" said Celebi, "Do you know Professor Oak's first name?" "Um… no?" said Ash. "His full name is Samuel Oak," said Celebi, emphasizing the 'Samuel.' "Ok?" Pikachu facepalmed. Celebi sighed. "When he was a boy, he was also known as Sam or Sammy," "Wait," said Ash, starting to figure it out, "do you mean Sammy is Professor Oak?" "Yep!" said Celebi. "Why didn't he tell me then?" asked Ash. "Well," said Celebi, "I kinda told him not to," "Why?" asked Ash. "Because if you knew about events before they happened, you would have acted differently, wouldn't you?" asked Celebi, "And besides, would you have believed him?" "Actually…" said Ash. "Oh, that's why he hid the Charmander!" said Pikachu. "What do you mean, hid the Charmander?" asked Ash. "When you came to get your starter, he hid Charmander so he could give me to you," replied Pikachu. "Why would he do that?" asked Ash. "You told him that I was your starter, remember?" said Pikachu. "But what if he had given me Charmander instead?" asked Ash. "Well, that's why Dialga and I have to keep track of time," said Celebi, "It's kind of hard to explain, though, even I get a headache sometimes just thinking about it." "Well, thanks for making sure I got Pikachu," said Ash, "I mean, a Charmander would have been cool, but Pikachu is way more awesome! Right buddy?" "No kidding," said Pikachu, "I might have still been stuck in that lab." "You're welcome," said Celebi, "and thank you for helping to save me from that crazy masked dude." She shuddered. "Those dark balls are not fun at ALL," "Eh," said Pikachu, "we've had to deal with worse before. Ash didn't die that time, so that's a plus," "I know," said Celebi, "I knew then too, which seems weird but you know…" Ash nodded, "You couldn't tell us because it would mess up the timeline." "Exactly," said Celebi, then paused for a second. "Oops, gotta go. I think I'm calling myself from a different time," "How does that work?" asked Ash. "It's hard to put it into words," said Celebi, "time is like a fourth dimension, except you can't visually see it," "In that case, Ash has no chance," said Pikachu. Celebi winked. "Maybe someday then. See you later!" "Bye!" Ash waved as Celebi blinked out of existence (well, existence at that specific time anyway). "Hi Ash!" "Hi Mew!" said Ash, "wait a minute, which Mew are you?" "Last time I checked there was only one of me," said Mew, "why?" "You were at New Island and the Tree of Beginning?" asked Ash. "Yep! Didn't you recognize me?" "Well, you didn't seem to recognize me so…" "Technically, you weren't supposed to recognize me since Mewtwo wiped everyone's memory." said Mew, "so it would have been weird if I acted like I knew you." "Then how do I remember?" "Weird stuff, Dialga said something about time travel," replied Mew. "Great, how many timelines did I mess up?" groaned Ash. "You mean fixed?" said Pikachu. "Right," said Ash. "Yep, you fixed 3-4 timelines depending on which timeline you're talking about," said Mew, "and sorry about those times we met, I think you died both times…" "That's ok," said Ash, "It's kinda my job," "What, dying?" asked Pikachu, "cause that's not too inaccurate," "I meant saving legendaries," said Ash, "dying is more of a side effect than a job." "Thankfully for everyone else, you never seem to stay dead," said Mew, "but anyway, I got lots of things to do. See you later!" Mew giggled and teleported to whereabouts unknown to Ash. "Geez, I wonder where everyone's going in such a hurry," said Ash. "Well, they technically govern the universe, you know," said Pikachu, "that's got to be a time-consuming job." Little did Ash or Pikachu know, Ash's question was being answered as a meeting unknown to either of them was happening just a few rooms away… Hall of Origin, Meeting Room… "Alright, so that's Keldeo, Celebi, and you today, right?" asked Arceus. Mew was holding a clipboard. "Yep, that should be enough," "Alright," said Arceus, "remember, all of you are free to enjoy your visits with the Chosen One but try to keep them short so everyone who wants to visit can." There was a murmur of agreement. "And don't forget," continued Arceus, "keep the gift a secret so we can surprise the Chosen One on the last day," Notes: There's the chapter! Spoiler: Chapter 5 Day 3 Ash was currently chowing down on the all-you-can-eat breakfast. If you're wondering how much he ate, let's just say it was a good thing Arceus decided to get more food this year. We can also exclude the fact that Ash ate more than the entire creation trio combined… "Do you always eat that much food?" Ash turned to see Meloetta levitating near him. "Don't worry," said Pikachu, "I've seen him eat more than that before," "How-" began Meloetta, "Never mind, I don't want to know," "What?" asked Ash, "Meeting all these Pokémon makes me hungry," "You say that about everything!" said Pikachu. "I don't!" "Then name one thing you haven't said you get hungry from," replied Pikachu. "Umm…" said Ash, "Eating doesn't make me hungry!" Pikachu and Meloetta sweatdropped. "Anyway," said Meloetta, "thanks for helping me and Riley in Unova Ash. It means a lot," "Hey, no problem," said Ash, "Team Rocket doesn't need any more power, especially the power of three legendary Pokémon," "Speaking of Team Rocket," said Meloetta, "are those three still following you?" "Yep," said Ash, "they still haven't given up," "Wow, that's persistent," said Meloetta. "Yeah, but we're kinda frenemies," said Ash, "Most of the time they try to steal Pikachu, but sometimes they're actually kinda helpful." "Hmm, maybe that's why I couldn't sense any evil in them," said Meloetta. "What do you mean?" asked Ash. "Well," began Meloetta, "since I'm a psychic type, I can sense the feelings and intentions of people. In people like Giovanii, I can sense a lot of evil, and in people like you, I can sense a lot of good. I couldn't sense either in them, it felt like they were just trying to impress their boss." "Do you know if he actually wants Pikachu?" asked Ash, "I mean, they keep going after him, but I think they've spent more money than they'll get if they manage to capture Pikachu." "I don't know," said Meloetta, "but considering Pikachu is technically the strongest non-legendary Pokémon they might have more motivation now. Speaking of which, congratulations on beating Leon! I saw your match on TV, it was really amazing!" "Thanks," said Ash, "but now that I've beaten Leon, I can't figure out what to do. Do you have any ideas?" "I believe that is for you to figure out," replied Meloetta, smiling slightly. "You know something, don't you?" said Ash. "Maybe," replied Meloetta innocently. "Oh come on," said Ash. She smiled. "Don't worry, you'll find out eventually. But really, thanks a bunch Ash. You're one of the only humans I trust besides Riley. And that's saying a lot," "Well, I just do what I can," said Ash. "What you can do is often simply what you will do," said Meloetta, "I learned that from someone a long time ago," Ash thought about it for a moment, "I guess that makes sense," Meloetta nodded. "One more thing, you only get out of something what you put into it. When you freely give friendship and kindness, you'll get them back in spades. But people who do evil often only get evil in return," she smiled, "and thank you so much for helping me that time." Ash scratched his head, "It was no problem," "I would argue with that," said Meloetta, "but considering your track record I probably shouldn't," Pikachu laughed, "Yeah, it's kinda just a day in the life," "So I've heard," said Meloetta, "but anyway, thanks again Ash. I have to go now, but I'll see you sometime soon!" "Ok, bye Meloetta!" "Bye!" "I wonder what she means by that I'll find out eventually," pondered Ash, "What do you think Pikachu?" "I don't know," said Pikachu, "I think it might be something with what to do next though," "Right!" said Ash, "Maybe we'll get to go to a new region!" "Woah! Hi Hoopa!" Ash jumped back after Hoopa teleported in front of him and Pikachu. "Hi Ash-kan and Pi-kan!" Ash and Pikachu sweatdropped at Hoopa's nicknames for them. "Hoopa came to thank Ash-kan!" exclaimed Hoopa, "Without Ash-kan, Hoopa would never be able to use Hoopa's true power!" "You're welcome Hoopa, I'm glad you can use your full power now," said Ash. "Yeah, but that battle with Big Hoopa was cool wasn't it Ash-kan?" Ash nodded. "I never thought I would see so many legendaries in one place!" "Well now Hoopa doesn't have to summon all the legendaries!" said Hoopa. "Huh?" asked Ash. "All the legendaries are right here silly!" said Hoopa. "Right," said Ash. "Ash-kan want a drink?" asked Hoopa. "Uh, no thanks," said Ash, remembering Hoopa's definition of a drink was dumping a pool on your head. "Don't worry Ash-kan, Hoopa will get a better drink this time!" exclaimed Hoopa. "Okay…" said Ash. "Ale Hoopa ring!" Hoopa tossed one of its rings into the air and a cup of water fell into Ash's hands. "Wow, thanks Hoo-" Ash jumped back as the glass of water jumped out of his hands and grew until it was as tall as he was. "Te he he, were you surprised?" asked Hoopa. Ash laughed, "Yeah, I wasn't expecting that," "Hello, Ash," Ash looked up to see Ho-oh flying slightly in front of him, "Hi Ho-oh, how are you doing?" "I'm doing well," replied Ho-oh, "and yourself?" "I'm doing great!" said Ash, "I do have a question for you though," "Yes?" "Why did you give me a feather on my first day as a trainer?" "Ah, that," said Ho-oh, "do you remember what you did that day?" "Oh yeah," said Pikachu, "he got me as his starter, dragged me around with a rope, threw a rock at a Spearow, and I fried all the Spearow before he got creamed," "Hey!" said Ash, "If you had listened I wouldn't have had to throw a rock in the first place!" "I know," said Pikachu, "I was just messing with you," Ash groaned. "Should have known," Ho-oh chuckled. "Well, Ash, I was watching you on your first day as a trainer. It may have started out rocky, but the friendship you and Pikachu developed on that day exceeded any I had seen before. The way you two went from a rocky partnership to best friends in only one day is one of the greatest achievements I've ever seen. As such, I decided to give you a feather to encourage you to continue on your journey," "Wow," said Ash, "thanks, Ho-oh, I think it helped a lot," "You're welcome," replied Ho-oh, "I see that you have improved greatly since then," "Yeah," said Ash, "it's been a hard journey, but it's been really fun!" "I'm glad you enjoy it," said Ho-oh, "and don't forget, whenever you see a rainbow remember the day you first started your journey and take it as a sign to keep working toward your goal," Ash nodded. "Thank you, Ho-oh," "And thank you, Ash," said Ho-oh as she spread her wings and flew off to go talk to another legendary. "Hey Pikachu," "What?" "Race you to dinner!" said Ash as he ran towards the dining room. "Hey! Get back here!" yelled Pikachu, chasing after his trainer. Spoiler: Chapter 6 Day 4 "Ah!" Ash stretched, "That was a nice sleep! How are you doing Pikachu?" "Darn, I was just about to shock you," Pikachu fake-pouted. "One of the reasons I got up," said Ash. "Oh well," said Pikachu, "I guess it can wait until tomorrow," "Man," said Ash thoughtfully, "I wish I could just get up whenever I want and not have to worry about missing breakfast." "Did you say wish?" Ash looked up. While they had been talking, Jirachi had come into the room. "Oh, hi Jirachi!" "Hi, Ash!" said Jirachi, "Sorry for interrupting, I just heard you say wish and had to come over here," "It's ok," said Ash, "I was just joking," "I know," said Jirachi, "but it gives me an excuse to come here. After all, I am the wish Pokémon." "Wait a minute," said Ash, "shouldn't you still be sleeping? Has it been 1000 years already?" Jirachi laughed. "It hasn't been quite that long yet, but Arceus lets me wake up to come here every year," "That's nice," said Ash, "I thought you just slept for that whole time," "Speaking of that," said Jirachi, "could you say hi to Max for me? I'm sure he misses me, and I probably won't get the chance to send him another message," "Sure!" said Ash, "I know he'll be super happy to hear from you," "Thanks! And maybe you can convince Arceus to let me visit sometime?" asked Jirachi a little nervously. Ash laughed. "I'll try, but couldn't you just wish for it?" "No," said Jirachi sadly, "I can't grant wishes for myself, I can only do it for others," "Then couldn't I just wish for it?" asked Ash. "Oh," said Jirachi, not having thought of that idea, "yeah, I think you can! Could you do it for me please?" "Sure!" said Ash, "Jirachi, I wish that you would be able to visit Max!" One of Jirachi's wish tags glowed, signifying that the wish had been successful. "Thanks so much Ash!" said Jirachi, "Would you like a wish? I would be happy to give you one!" Ash considered it for a moment, "I can't really think of anything I want right now… Maybe later?" "That's fine," said Jirachi, "I know it takes a while to pick a wish. Thanks again, Ash! See you later!" "Bye Jirachi!" "You sure are popular with Legendaries aren't you Ash?" asked Pikachu. Ash shrugged, "I guess so," "How are you doing Ash?" asked Rayquaza. "I'm doing great, how about you?" asked Ash. "It's been a little more relaxing since Kyogure and Groudon calmed down." said Rayquaza, "It would be nice if they stopped bickering every once in a while, but I can't complain much, I know Arceus has to deal with Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina all the time," "They still fight?" asked Ash worriedly. "Don't worry," replied Rayquaza, "they aren't fighting in the sense of hitting and shooting attacks at each other. They just get into a lot of arguments and rarely agree on anything." "Whew," said Ash, "does that mean there won't be any more universe-threatening battles?" "There shouldn't be," said Rayquaza, "Ever since that event at Alamos Town, Arceus has been keeping a closer watch over them so we won't have to deal with that again," "Speaking of battles, how are Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno doing?" asked Ash. "Last time I talked to Lugia, they were much more peaceful," replied Rayquaza, "apparently those orbs you placed on Shamouti Island helped to calm them a little. Thanks again for helping take out Team Aqua and Team Magma, they were getting to be really troublesome," "It wasn't much," said Ash, "I just did what I could and it happened to work," Rayquaza chuckled. "Well Ash, whatever you do 'happens' to work every time," "Good point," said Ash. Rayquaza smiled. "Just keep doing what you do and I'm sure you'll become even better," Ash nodded. "Thanks, Rayquaza," "Anytime," said the sky-high Pokémon, "I wish you well," "K, bye!" "Farewell, Chosen One," "You know buddy, I think I might be eating too much," said Ash. "No kidding," replied Pikachu, "you've eaten more than a Snorlax at every breakfast, lunch, and dinner," "But it's an all-you-can-eat buffet," protested Ash, "I can't let it go to waste," Pikachu sighed. Ash's logic, to put it lightly, lacked something essential. "Anyway," said Ash, "how about we do some training Pikachu? I heard the training places here are amazing," "I thought this was going to be a vacation," said Pikachu. "Yeah, but who says you can't train on a vacation?" Pikachu smirked, "Alright… race you there!" "Hey!" yelled Ash as Pikachu shot off. A few minutes of running later, Ash and Pikachu arrived panting in front of the training room. "Wow, this is awesome!" said Ash. The training room was gigantic, with numerous things to train with including a very durable punching bag, rocks of all sizes, weights, a small area for each type, and a variety of other useful things. "Alright!" said Ash, "Pikachu, Iron Tail those rocks to pieces!" "Yeah, take that!" yelled Pikachu as he slammed his tail into a rock. On contact, it splintered into hundreds of pieces. However, instead of the pieces flying everywhere, once Pikachu had backed away, the rock promptly repaired itself. "Enjoying the training system?" Ash glanced to his left. "Hi Suicune! Yeah, this stuff is pretty cool," "Have you seen the battlefield yet?" inquired Suicune. "There's a battlefield?" asked Ash. "Yeah, it's over to your right," said Suicune, "would you like to have a little spar?" "You mean it?" asked Ash. Suicune nodded. "Yeah! Let's do it!" "Alright," said Suicune, "come with me," As Ash and Suicune entered the battlefield, a robot flickered to life in the middle. "Hello and welcome to the Hall of Origin's battlefield." said the robot in a monotone voice, "Today I will be your referee. What type of match would you like?" "Uh, one-on-one please," said Ash. "Processing… confirmed. This battle will be a one-on-one match between Ash Ketchum and Suicune. Please move to your side of the battlefield." Ash and Suicune walked to their sides of the battlefield. "Positions have been confirmed." the robot continued, "Battle will begin in 3… 2… 1…" "Alright! Pikachu, start with Quick Attack!" Ash could tell Suicune was not expecting Pikachu's speed, but she darted out of the way with an Extreme Speed. "Use Thunder!" This time, Pikachu's attack was barely dodged by Suicune, who was taken aback by how fast the little mouse could charge attacks. 'I guess I shouldn't expect any less from Ash,' she thought as she fired off a Bubble Beam. Ten minutes later both Suicune and Pikachu were panting, each waiting for the other to faint. "Come on Pikachu, one more Thunderbolt!" called Ash Pikachu gathered the last of his energy and used it to fling a large thunderbolt at Suicune, who was so exhausted she didn't have the strength to dodge it in time. "Suicune is unable to battle, the winner is Pikachu! That means the victory goes to Ash Ketchum!" said the robot. "Great job, you did it!" said Ash as Pikachu's injuries slowly healed via the automatic system on the battlefield. "Well Chosen One," said Suicune, "I'm impressed, your Pikachu is certainly strong. Thank you for the great battle," "No problem," said Ash, "thank you too, I really enjoyed it!" "Well," said Suicune, "I must go now, but don't stop pushing for your goal Ash. You and Pikachu are truly remarkable," "Thanks!" said Ash, "We've been through a lot to get this strong huh buddy?" Pikachu jumped on his shoulder. "Yeah, tell me about it," Suicune chuckled. "See you later Ash," "Bye Suicune!" "Hey, Ash!" "Hi Mew, what's the visit for?" asked Ash. "I have a message from Arcy, he says he wants to talk to you," replied Mew, "he's in the council room," "Um," said Ash, "where is that exactly?" Mew giggled, "Arcy said you might need help, ready?" "Ready for what? Wait…" After a ride in a pink car that went 100,000 miles per hour, Ash, Pikachu, and Mew made it to the council room. "Greetings Ash," "Hi Arceus," said Ash, "did you need something?" "Yes," replied Arceus, "do you remember granting Jirachi a wish today?" "Yeah," said Ash, "Jirachi said he wanted to visit Max, so I wished that he would be able to," Arceus nodded. "Make sure to tell Max that Jirachi will visit him once a year, and as a little precaution Max should catch Jirachi," "Ok," said Ash, "I'll give him a call as I get home!" Arceus nodded. "Thank you, I have to go now, but enjoy the rest of your stay here," "Will do!" responded Ash cheerfully. "You guys done?" asked Mew, Ash nodded hesitantly. "Okay then, ready for a ride back Ash?" "Um, I think I'll just walk," said Ash. "Okey dokie, walking it is!" "Wait, I didn't mean-" Notes: That's the chapter! Spoiler: Chapter 7 Day 5 "Hey Ash, remember me?" Ash looked at the Pokémon in front of him, "Yeah, how are you doing Manaphy?" "I'm great!" said Manaphy, "How's May?" "Last time I checked, she was doing well," said Ash, "she even earned the title of 'Princess of Hoenn' for her coordinator skills," "That's great!" said Manaphy, "Hey, when you see May again could you ask her if she wants to come visit me at Samiya anytime?" "But I thought it was only visible during a lunar eclipse," said Ash, "won't it be hard to find?" "Not necessarily," replied Manaphy. "What do you mean?" "Well," said Manaphy, "as people who have been blessed by the temple, you, May, Max, and all your friends who came with you will be able to find Samiya at any time," "How do we find it?" asked Ash. "Well," said Manaphy, "just think of Samiya when you're near the ocean. If you do it right, you'll know exactly where it is. The only problem is that sometimes it can be pretty far away." "Really?" asked Ash, "Ok, I'll tell May as soon as I get home," "Thanks Ash," said Manaphy, "don't forget, you're always welcome there too," Ash smiled. "Don't worry, I'll come and visit sometime," "Alright," said Manaphy, "I'll see you there!" "K, bye Manaphy!" "Bye Ash!" "Hmm," said Ash after Manaphy had left, "that sounds like something cool to do sometime," "Yeah," said Pikachu, "it would be nice to be able to visit Samiya without being chased by some crazy pirate guy or having the temple flood while you're in it," "Or drown while trying to fix the Sea Crown," Ash added jokingly. Pikachu shrugged. "Eh, I think you're basically invincible at this point," Later… "You know buddy," said Ash, "I know we keep getting stronger, but what do you think could top defeating Leon?" "I don't know," said Pikachu, "maybe we'll just find out? After all, we couldn't think of anything better than winning the Alola league last time," "Personally, I would say just listen to your truth," "And your ideals, that should give you an answer," "Oh, hi guys!" said Ash, waving to the two Unovian dragons. "Uh, what do you mean by that?" "Well," said Zekrom, "if you want to find a new challenge, you should ask yourself what your ideal goal is," "And," added Reshiram, "you must use your truth to make that goal a reality," "Huh?" asked Ash. "Sorry," said Pikachu, "let me put it in simpler terms, pick a goal and work for it." Reshiram and Zekrom sweatdropped. "It sounded much cooler our way," said Zekrom. "Yeah," said Pikachu, "except Ash here doesn't understand anything beyond logic," "I can too!" protested Ash. "Let me rephrase that," said Pikachu, "You can't understand anything beyond simple logic except in battles or when it's about food," "But-" started Ash, "Oh whatever. Um, anyway, how's N doing?" "He's doing well," replied Reshiram, "he simply needed to understand not all trainers are bad, and that humans and Pokémon can work together as a team. Ghetsis presented his idea as good, but it was corrupted with evil, thus N was heavily misinformed." "That's good," said Ash, "he is a nice guy," "Yes," said Zekrom, "I think we were able to teach him how to observe the world from an ideal standpoint," "Speaking of which," said Ash, "which one of us is the Hero of Ideals? I mean, I know one of us is the Hero of Ideals and the other is the Hero of Truth but…" Both dragons looked at each other. "Let me guess," sighed Pikachu, "more timelines?" "Probably," said Zekrom, "although we haven't talked to Dialga about it yet," "Let's just say that, at the moment, you and N can consider yourself both," said Reshiram, "it keeps things, should we say, simpler," "That's simpler?" asked Ash. "I feel like we don't want to know the other way," said Pikachu. "Hello Ash," "Nebby!" said Ash, "How have you been?" "I've been well," said the Solgaleo, "and you?" "I'm doing pretty well," said Ash, "traveling through Galar and re-visiting other regions was super exciting!" "Sounds fun," said Nebby, "though I'm curious, are you a Pokémon Master now since you beat the world's strongest trainer?" "I don't know," said Ash, "I never really had anything in mind when I started my journey. I know being the strongest trainer is part of that, but I just feel like something's missing," "Well," said Nebby, "maybe you'll find your answer here," "Do you know something about that?" asked Ash. "No," said Nebby, "I just heard some of the other legendaries talking about it. I'm not sure if I was supposed to tell you that," "Meloetta and some of the others hinted about something as well," said Pikachu, "maybe only certain legendaries know?" "I'm not one of the major legendaries like my mom or dad so I don't know that much," said Nebby, "but I'm pretty sure that they have something in store," "Oh well," said Pikachu, "I have a feeling we'll know eventually," "Right," said Ash "I almost forgot to ask, how is Ultra Space?" "I would say it's going pretty well," replied Nebby, "we're almost done restoring it to how it was before. Getting Necrozma back helped a lot but there are a few things that need more time to be completely restored." "That's great! Is Naganadel doing well?" asked Ash. "Pretty well," said Nebby, "I think he's the leader of the Poipole colony now," "Really?" asked Ash, "That's great! Tell him I said hi!" "Will do," said Nebby, "it's the least I can do to repay you for taking care of me," "It was no problem," said Ash. "Actually…" said Pikachu. Nebby laughed. "I've heard I was quite the handful for you and your friends." Ash laughed as well. "Yeah, but it was fun," "I agree," said Nebby, "unfortunately, I have to go now, but if you ever visit Alola again make sure to drop by Ultra Space for a visit!" "Sure!" said Ash, "See ya!" "Goodbye Ash!" Notes: Aaand cut! Well, there's day 5... after this only 2 more days! Now I REALLY have to go think of that 'gift'... Spoiler: Chapter 8 Day 6 "Hello Ash!" "Hi Daincie! How are you doing?" Ash asked the Jewel Pokémon. "I'm doing well," replied Daincie, "I wanted to thank you again for helping me find Xerneas. Looking back on it, I see you helped a lot more than I realized at the time. For that, I am most grateful," "No problem!" said Ash, "I was happy to help!" Daincie smiled. "I know, but I still want to give you something for all your help." She held out a handful of purple diamonds. "Please, take one and give one to each of your friends with my greatest thanks," "Thanks!" said Ash, "That's really nice of you!" Diance nodded. "I must be going, there are a few things I need to attend to. Remember though, you and your friends are welcome in my kingdom anytime!" "Ok!" said Ash, "See you!" "Farewell Ash!" "We sure have a lot of places to visit once this week's over huh?" said Pikachu. "Yeah," said Ash, "which place do you think we should visit first?" "I say we go in order," said Pikachu, "you know, places in Kanto first and places in Galar last. Besides, it will be easier to get the group back together that way," "You think we could get everyone we traveled with to go with us?" asked Ash. "Sure," replied Pikachu, "as long as you invite them," "Don't let me forget to do that," said Ash. "Don't worry," said Pikachu, "we won't forget a thing! See?" Ash glanced at Pikachu who was proudly holding a notebook with a list of every place they had been invited to. "How did you-" "I got it from our room," replied Pikachu, "complements of Uxie," "That sounds accurate," Ash chuckled, "we seem to forget a lot of things," "You still remember the day when we started our journey?" asked Pikachu. "How could I forget?" asked Ash, "We couldn't even catch a Pidgey," "You know," said Pikachu, "throwing a rock wasn't that dumb," "It wasn't?" asked Ash. "Yep!" said Pikachu, "Because rock-type moves are super effective against flying types!" Ash sighed. "If it didn't happen to hit a Spearow…" Pikachu chuckled. "Then I had to save you from getting creamed," "And send Misty on a rampage against us for destroying her bike," Ash deadpanned. "Do you think she still remembers that?" asked Pikachu. "You mean Misty, May, or Dawn?" asked Ash, "Because I seem to remember you destroying quite a few bikes," "It wasn't my fault!" retorted Pikachu, "Those two-wheeled things always get in the way! Besides, if I hadn't, Misty might not have traveled with us." "Alright," said Ash, "you win, but you're still paying for them out of your ketchup fund," "Wait a minute, hey!" yelled Pikachu as Ash ran down the hall. That Night… "Well buddy, tomorrow's our last day here huh?" said Ash. "We still have a lot to do though," said Pikachu, "lots of places to visit and stuff like that," Ash nodded, "Yeah, but what about after that? What do we do when we've just done it all?" "What do you mean?" asked Pikachu. "I mean, like, we've traveled every region, gotten better and better, and eventually beat Leon. I know we can go and revisit those places, but I feel like we need something new," replied Ash. "Yeah," said Pikachu, "me too, but what new things are there?" "There's gotta be something," said Ash, "somewhere where we can find a new region to conquer!" "Maybe," said Pikachu, "but don't you think that's kind of repetitive?" Ash shrugged. "Hey, we've said that a lot of times before, why not do it again?" Pikachu smiled. "Sure, whatever you decide to do, I'll be there," "Thanks, buddy," said Ash, stroking the yellow mouse's ears. He yawned. "Well, it's getting late, let's get to bed so we can enjoy our last day here tomorrow," "Alright," said Pikachu, "Good night, Ash," "Good night, Pikachu," Notes: That's a wrap! Been a while, hasn't it? Spoiler: Chapter 9 Day 7 "Aah!" said Ash, "Pikachu!" "What?" asked Pikachu, "You told me to wake you up for breakfast," Ash looked at the clock. "It's 6:00!" "Don't blame me," said Pikachu, "Mew told me that breakfast was at 6:15," Ash groaned. "Then let me sleep for another 15 minutes," "You know it will take at least that long to get there," said Pikachu, "besides, if we don't get there on time, all the food might be gone," "At six?" "I dunno, it could be one of Mew's pranks but…" "Alright, I'm coming," Ash slowly climbed out of bed, got dressed, and headed out with Pikachu. "Hello!" called Ash. No Answer. "Anyone?" Silence. "There's something," said Pikachu pointing to a lone table. Ash walked over to the table and picked up a piece of paper that was there. To Ash, Don't worry about our absence, there is a very important matter we need to attend to, If you're hungry, there's some breakfast in the main hall. -Arceus "Huh?" asked Ash, "That's odd," "Yeah," said Pikachu, "usually whenever they do something important we have to get involved." "Wait a minute," said Ash, "what was the point of waking up at 6:00 then?" "That's right," said Pikachu, "why would Mew tell me if…" "Unless," said Ash, "something happened to them! Quick, buddy, let's go!" Ash and Pikachu then bolted towards the main hall. Ash was, as usual, partially correct. Heavy emphasis on the partially. However, his conclusion about 'something happening to them' was slightly different than he thought. Mew giggled, "Told you it would work," Arceus groaned. "Fine, you can have as much sugar as you want this week," "Yippie!" yelled Mew and began stuffing large amounts of candy into her mouth. Arceus sighed. "Is everything ready?" A chorus of agreement came from the legendaries and mythicals present. "Good," said Arceus, "now, we wait," "*pant* You remember which way it is, *pant* right?" asked Ash to his partner. "Yeah, *pant* it was *pant* this way," replied Pikachu. "How *pant* much *pant* further?" "*pant* We're almost *pant* there," Ash and Pikachu reached the doors of the main hall, burst them open, and… "SUPRISE!" Ash and Pikachu stopped mid-run and looked around in confusion. "Oh," said Ash, glancing at the balloons and food, "who's the party for?" Every Pokémon in the room (including Pikachu who didn't take long to figure out what was happening) did a collective facepalm. "Did I say something?" asked Ash, still completely confused. Mew flew up to him. "It's for you dummy," Ash did a double-take. "For me? But it's not my birthday," "True, but that's not the reason for this party," said Arceus. "It looks like a birthday party," said Ash, pointing at the large banner that read 'Happy Birthday' in the middle of the room. Arceus glanced at the banner. "Alright, who put that up?" "Oh," said Mew, "whoopsie," Arceus glared at her. "Alright, alright, I'll take it down," said Mew as she flew up to heave away the banner. Arceus turned his attention back to the still-confused boy. "Ash, we're holding this party for you because of everything you've done for us. Ever since you started your journey, you've never hesitated to help any one of us. But it was not only us you helped. While you journeyed through every region, you helped everyone both human, and Pokémon, that you encountered. No matter how long it took, no matter how hard it was, you stuck to your journey and never gave up even in the face of death. Despite all this, we've realized that you've hardly received anything for your efforts and nothing for any of your encounters with us. So, to show our appreciation, we've decided to make a little gift for you," "A gift?" asked Ash. Arceus smiled and tapped his hoof on the floor, causing a medium-sized box to appear in front of Ash. "Go ahead," said Arceus. Ash hesitated a little before opening the box. He gasped. Inside was a carving of every legendary and mythical Pokémon he had met on his journey. The carvings were fixed around a large golden plaque that read; 'To Ash Ketchum, Pokémon Master' "Look at the carvings," said Arceus, smiling at Ash's childish reaction of surprise and excitement. Ash took a closer look at the finely sculpted figures of the legendaries. Melmetal is with Prof. Kikui and Eternatus is… somewhere.) Ash looked up. "Wow, thanks! But… am I really a Pokémon Master?" Arceus smiled. "Let me ask you this Ash, what do you think a Pokémon Master is?" Ash thought about it for a second. "Well, I've always wanted to be one since I started my journey. Back then I thought it might be winning the league or becoming a champion. Now though… I think it might be not just making friends, but making a bond with every Pokémon I meet. That's what I think a true Pokémon Master is, someone who can be friends with every Pokémon and treat them not as tools for war or battle, but as partners and family." "Well then," said Arceus, "I don't see why you aren't a Pokémon Master," "I don't know," replied Ash, "It's just, I feel like even if I am one, I need to keep going and keep trying for the next thing," "Look at it this way Ash," said Arceus, "when you try your very hardest to be a Pokémon Master, you have been doing exactly what a Pokémon Master does. You journey with your Pokémon, making new friends, and, most importantly, you never stop going. A true Pokémon Master is one who never stops striving to become one, and you have done that ever since you started your journey." Ash looked back at his gift and nodded. "I… never thought about it that way. But, does that mean there's no more for me to do?" "That depends," replied Arceus, "what do you think?" The End... or is it? Notes: And... That's a wrap! I hope you all enjoyed this book's final update exactly one year after it began! (on ff.net anyway) It's kinda funny, I started writing this book before Pokémon announced Ash was leaving the Pokémon Anime. When they did, it just seemed ironic that I was writing this and suddenly it turned into a memorial to Ash's journey. Thanks for reading to the end, and I hope you enjoy my future books! P.S. If you haven't noticed from my profile picture, I like the Latios and Latias a lot so many of my books are about them. I'm not going to ask for reviews on this chapter since it is just my final thoughts, but if you want to leave a final comment on this book feel free to do so.
