Please keep discussions to the discussion thread. (Avoid clutter and useless posts) Group 2 & 3 will start in Ipomoea Town, Group 1 will start in Wisteria Town. The aim is to meet up in Wisteria Town for the first Contest of the season! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daphne looked around in awe as she dodged a few running children that were heading over to the training fields. Wisteria Town was beautifully decorated for their annual festival. She was distracted by the vendors that were trying to get people to buy their wares and she gave a wide smile in return. She needed to get to the Pokémon Center first before she joined in on the festivities. The sheer amount of excitement in the air reminded her of the festivals held in Johto during the cherry blossom season. Spotting the Pokémon Center in the distance, she quickly made her way to the entrance. She had been on the road for a few days, coming from Ipomoea Town, where her plane had landed. Instead of sticking around, she had quickly made her way out of town and had reached Wisteria in time to see them hold their festival. Daphne quickly got herself a room, after being told that she would have to double up because of the festival and the contest that would be held on the last day of the festival. She rushed to dump her stuff securely in the room's safe before she went downstairs again. She swiped a guide for visiting trainers from one of the tables in the lobby before she ran out of the door. It had been a long time since she had been on the road for just herself and she could feel the excitement of the townspeople seep into herself. Maybe she would meet some nice people tonight that she could travel along with tonight.
Taidana glanced around Wisteria Town with a faint smile on his lips, he had been here for a few days already arriving early accidentally when travelling the route outside of the Town. Straight away he had found himself drawn in by the friendly community, and he was almost always exploring the town. "It's a nice place, isn't it, Sceptile?" He asked out loud, receiving a grunt from the reptilian Pokémon behind him. Just slightly shorter than Taidana, Sceptile carried his signature twig in his mouth, something he picked up as a Treeko after witnessing Taidana's own father carry a similar habit. "Suppose we should head back to the Pokémon Center buddy, any longer and she might get annoyed." He mumbled half to himself, peering down at his belt where Absol's Pokémon hung. Sensing his partners agreement, Taidana turned on his heel and began to pace back to the building he was staying in, giving half smiles to the residents he passed by. "Boy they're really excited." He mumbled entering the building, nodding to Nurse Joy in greetings, and approaching the Lounge. As soon as he found himself a seat one of his Pokéballs snapped open, giving way to Absol's form who appeared staring dryly at her trainer. "Okay... I know, I promised five minutes but in my defence it was a nice day." He semi-pleaded with the disaster Pokémon who's stare turned into a glare, "Uh I got snacks?" The moment "snacks" were mentioned Absol leapt onto the seat beside Taidana and began to sniff around for the snacks, "Jeez calm down, I'll get them in a minute." He grumbled. Despite his apparent grumpiness there was a small smile on his face as he reached into his bag, "Now you can only have a few, we'll have some battles soon remember?" Ignoring him the Pokémon snatched the now revealed Mago Berry from his hand. With a roll of his eyes, Taidana glanced towards Sceptile, "Hungry, buddy?" He asked his oldest partner who simply shrugged before retreating back to his Pokéball. "Lazy reptile," Taidana grumbled fondly as he pulled out his own collection of berries.
Krystal exited the airport, surveying the town she arrived in. "According to this map, this is Ipomoea Town. Isn't it exciting, Lola? A brand new region for us to explore!" She smiled at the rabbit Pokémon perched on her shoulder. "Bun~!" The Buneary nuzzled into her trainer's shoulder, enjoying scenery. "Reminds me a bit of home, don't you agree?", the young trainer stretched and relaxed after a long flight. "..Where should we go first?", Krystal pondered, preparing to head deeper into the town. Smooze's Friendball rested on her belt, she feared causing a disruption from her Grimer's stench. Krystal had gotten used to the smell, but complete strangers..? Probably not.
"Hm. Ipomoea Town, is it?" Carlos pulled out a map from his pocket, quickly scanning the town from the airport exit. He took note of the many morning glories scattered around the area, painting the town in shades of indigo, violet, and lilac - the reason why he had come to the region in the first place. Slowly walking over to a safe spot on the pavement, he began to take a couple notes and a rough sketch, slipping away from the world around him. "Sni?" A worried squeak emitted from hiss hood, as the weight inside shifted a little, forcing him back into reality. He could already feel one of her small, leaf-like hands clinging onto his neck. "Don't worry, Snivy. I still remember the other reason we're here." Crouching down, he let her scramble out of the comforts of his hood and onto his shoulder, then down to his knee, and finally onto the ground to walk beside him. "We should probably head for the Center."
A refreshing start to a new journey, she hoped. Illya had arrived at Ipomoea Town, looking at her Nidorina Quinzel who was equally excited. “We have a whole road ahead of us, don’t we?” She looked around the seemingly quaint town. Even though she was tired, the sight of the small town reminded her of home already. Quinzel seemed to ignore her master and sniffed at a morning glory, which only made Illya smile even more, as she reached down to caress the petals. A beauty they are. Letting out her other Pokémon, she was greeted with a disgruntled hoot from her other companion. “Noctis don’t look at me like that, they didn’t allow Pokémon to be released from their Pokeballs during the trip...” Illya pet the head of the avian Pokémon whose protesting hoots only grow more annoyed, and ruffled his feathers, before eventually calming down with a long ever suffering hoot of a sigh. She looked around for anyone else, before she walked towards the professor’s home, a little shade under the sunny sky.
"So this is Kaiko region!" Cobalt said with a smile coming out of the airport. As he continued to walk towards the sunlight his bag shook. "Huh?!" Cobalt exclaimed,"Oh I forgot!! He took his bag off and opened it. As soon as he opened it a blue frog type Pokémon jumped out. "Fro!" The Pokémon glared Coblat. "Sorry Froakie but what can I do! They were not allowing Pokémon out of there Pokéball during the flight." Cobalt said. "Fro..." Froakie sighed. "Okay lets get to the Pokémon centre we need to get you checked up!" Cobalt said. Froakie nodded and jumped on his shoulder. Soon they reached the Pokémon centre. Cobalt gave Froakie to Nurse Joy. While he was waiting his eyes fell on a poster on the wall. 'A Pokémon contest! We should check it out! We could defintely learn something!' Cobalt thought. He was snapped out of his thought by Nurse Joy. "Your Froakie is all fine, it just needed some rest!" Nurse Joy said. "Thank you, Nurse Joy! But can you tell me where the contest is going to be held?" Cobalt asked. "Oh that it is going to be held in Wisteria town." Nurse Joy replied. Soon Cobalt had some lunch. Then he went to his room in the Pokémon centre to sleep due to being effected by jet lag.
Shadow brushed the hair from his eyes as he sat down to watch the Ducklett swim in a lake in Ipomoea City. He brought out a Pokéball and let his shiny Riolu out. The Riolu let out a cry and stretched. “It feels good being out of that Pokéball, doesn’t it? Don’t worry, while we’re here you don’t have to be in that Pokéball as often.” Riolu let out another cry and stared at me. “Oh, you want me to let out Charmander so that you two can play before we go see the professor, right?” Riolu nodded. “Alright, ok, but make sure that Charmander doesn’t fall into the water ok?” Shadow let Charmander out and it yawned. Riolu jumped up in excitement and started chasing Charmander around. Shadow felt that he could watch these two play for the rest of his life, but knew that they had to go to the professor’s house pretty soon. “Charmander, Riolu, it’s time to go to the professor.” The two Pokémon stared at me in disappointment. “I know, but you guys can play some later. Come on. Charmander, just to make sure that you don’t burn down anything, please return.” Charmander disappeared back into his Pokéball. “Ok,” I thought to myself. “Time to meet someone new. Don’t try to overdo it. Don’t try to be awkward. Who am I kidding? I always prefer battling over any social interaction.” Riolu lightly tugged at my pants. “Alright, we’re going, Riolu.”
Tamariel was walking around Westeria town taking in all the new impressions or trying to; his aunt had been on the phone with him for a good hour now. “Yes I’ll be fine, is not like I’m alone I have Mortis and Bruce with me.” A houdoom walking next to him gave a confirming bark. “I know but when I suggested you going on a journey I didn’t think you would go to a completely different region as your first pick.” A woman in the other end of the call said “Just be sure to stay safe okay.” “I’ll be fine, I’m already in a town called Westeria, there’s some sort of festival going on so I’m gonna check that out like I’ve already said.” His aunt had been more than a little surprise when he’d told her he’d decided to go to the Kaiko region instead of just staying in Johto or going to Kanto. Tamariel let out an internal sigh when his aunt kept going, asking him the same things she’d already asked him multiple times. He did find it slightly amusing “Auntie is going to be fine; I’m 23 I can take care of myself, just see it as me going on a very long camping trip.” The man laughed his aunt had a tendency to get a little too worried at times despite him being an adult. “I know I just can’t help it. What if you get lost? What if you get injured?” “I’ll be fine I bought a map in one of the stores at the airport in the previous town. I have a first aid kit and I’m going to buy a power pack or two so my phone doesn’t run out just in case.” Tamariel was half listening to his aunt as she continued while he was scouting around for a pokémon center “Don’t worry I’ll call you when I get to the next town if that helps but I gotta go now. Bye love ya.” The aunt managed a quick goodbye before he ended the call. “Okay Mortis let’s find that pokémon center now.” The houdoom barked in agreement and the duo started looking for it now that Tamariel wasn’t distracted by his worried aunt. They didn’t have to search for long and soon Tamariel had gotten a room and sat down in the lobby to relax a bit before going back outside. Enjoying the atmosphere at the center Tamariel leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes. The peace didn’t last long for him when one of the safari balls at his belt started shaking and a totodile manifested at Tamariel’s feet looking not too pleased. “Bruce you really need to stop letting yourself out of the ball, although this time your timing was perfect we just got to the pokémon center and I’m guessing you’re hungry since you decided to come out.” The totodile stared at his trainer for a moment before squirting a water gun in his face to show he wasn’t happy about not getting let out of his ball sooner. “Oh come on was that really necessary? It wasn’t that bad you were out of your ball for most of the trip here, aside from the flight. You also do realize this means more time will pass before you get fed right since I have to dry off first now.” He got up and gestured for the pokémon to follow as he headed for the dorm area of the center so he could dry off before exploring the town while a few people chuckled at the sight of him.
Unsure on what to do, Krystal entered the Pokémon Center. "If you don't know where to go or what to do, the nurses at the local Center can always lend a helping hand..", she mimicked her father, repeating his advice to her when she was young. Lola had climbed down and started to investigate the Center. She noticed a Froakie and approached, waving hello. "Buneary! [Hello there!]"
The Pokémon Center was a soothing place. Ipomoea was a rather small town, but Snivy still got nervous quickly. Carlos placed a hand on her head, attempting to quiet her down. Was she already homesick? "It's been a very short while since we left Unova, Snivy," he comforted the smaller Pokémon. "It's all going to be alright, okay? This is only your first time. I'm sure you can do it." As she slowly began to settle, he opened up his notebook again. Checking with the crude sketch and notes he had made earlier, he slowly began to add to his notes, once again lost in his own world, once again at peace. Even the little snake on his lap was beginning to look a bit sleepy. He smiled down at her - this was her first time outside her home region. He had been the same when he first left Kalos. But for now, all was quiet.
Cobalt quickly woke up and checked the time. It was 5: 00 P.M. He quickly jumped out of the bed and changed into his traveling clothes. He then woke Froakie up and packed up his medium sized traveling bag. Froakie jumped on his shoulder and he went out of his room. His Froakie suddenly jumped of his shoulder and went to a female trainer's Buneray. "Hey Froakie wait!" Cobalt said following his Froakie.
Silvia was staring at her Poketch, she had been following the digital map around for ages, even updating it before she left, it felt out of date, and even Cobalt was starting to get irritated with her. "Emplo!" The Pokémon said in an annoyed tone, waving its fin at one of the paths. "It is not that way Cobalt, it's to the lef- Oh no, you are right straight ahead." The trainer nodded, tapping the map off of her watch and walking forward and into a quaint little town. There were so many people and so many decorations, "Ah just in time for the festival." She spun the Empoleon around and pulled the water and steel bird right back in, like they were dancing. "You ready to cheer on Cosmo?" Silvia asked, Cobalt puffing up at the question. "I know, I know, you don't like that you aren't performing, but we have to let him try." "Polee Eon!" The large bird waddled on leaving Silvia behind after her poor attempt to reason. She squealed, "Cobalt wait up." The coordinator grumbled under her breath about the prideful bird, catching up to the Pokémon. Silvia's breaks went on though as they passed a few stores with clothing in the window. Cobalt continued to walk only to have to stop and wait, calling back to Silvia, "Empoleon, le leon!" He waved her on, obviously wanting to get a good rest at the Pokémon Center and a good meal. Silvia sprinted to catch up, "I am just trying to find a cute little outfit for Cosmo, I am thinking about a little vest." She explained, even though they had plenty of props in her bag. He just fluffed up his feathers, holding his beak up in pride and walked with his trainer to the Pokémon Center, sometimes her Pokémon was more on track than Silvia was. "Yeah yeah, we were going to get you a nice rest." Silvia tutted. The blue-haired beauty entered into the center, spotting the Nurse Joy of the region, loving her look, 'different from Sinnoh that's for sure' She thought, excited to see her such a distinct change. Heading up to counter, Silvia passed over her Pokédex to get it registered with this region and to get a room for the night. "All right Empoleon, take a short rest." She said, returning the Pokémon to the purple encased ball, handing it over to Nurse joy, along with another purple tinted ball. Letting Nurse Joy give them a short rejuvenation inside the machine before handing them back. "Thank you very much!" Heading down the hall and unlocking her room, she found another bag already on the bed. Setting her own bag on the other one, she let the two balls fly through the air, "Come on out friends!" Silvia called. The two balls popping open, her shiny sylveon, Cosmo, appearing forward in a cascade of sparkles, and Cobalt in a wave of rainbow bubbles. "Alright boys, we have a roommate, so this is our side of the room." Empoleon nodded, crossing it's fins while Cosmo yipped in excitement, nuzzling Silvia's leg. "Okay you two, why don't we go out and find some nice place to get some fresh berries for poffins." She said, picking Sylveon up, the coordinator liked to keep the small shiny Pokémon close when they went out. With Cobalt on her heels, she ventured back outside to look if she could find some Pokémon friendly restaurant. Spotting someone who looked friendly enough, she tapped on the red head's shoulder, "Hey there, so sorry to bother you, but would you happen to know where we could find a berry shop?" Silvia asked sweetly, Empoleon right behind her, looking as proud as ever, while little baby Cosmo seemed mystified by her hair.
Daphne turned around when she felt someone tap her on the shoulder and saw a woman with blue hair and a shiny Sylveon. Seeing the Sylveon reminded Daphne to call out her own Pokémon for some fresh air later. She had recalled them just before she got into town, but the redhead was well aware Lumi and Eira didn't like to be locked up in their balls. They tolerated it for sure but like it? Nope. She focused on the woman and thought about the question briefly. Then she remembered seeing a festival stall with a big berry logo on it. "Huh, a berry shop? I think I spotted one of the festival stalls with a wide range of berries." Daphne replied to the woman. "I need to stock up on berries myself seeing as I just reached this town myself." "My name is Daphne Elderwood." She held out her hand in greeting and waved at the Sylveon as well.
Taidana glanced up from his musings as he felt a nudge on his leg, Absol had apparently grown bored with just sitting around and had decided to entertain herself by annoying her trainer. "If you're so bored..." He started to respond before trailing off as he watched a Totodile fire a water gun at its own trainer. The scene caused Taidana's lips to quirk into a small smile, "It seems I'm not the only one who has to deal with annoying Pokémon," He chuckled out, directing his gaze towards an indignant Absol. "As I was saying, if you're so bored then we should be training." With the mention of training, Absol almost leapt off the seat and outside the Center, Taidana following at a more sedated pace summoning Sceptile as he walked. "Alright, here's the plan. You two are going to spar, it'll be basic and just a test to see what you need to improve on." Taidana called out to the two battle-ready Pokémon. "Alright..." Taidana began, at the same time the blades of Sceptile's arms began to glow and Absol crouched. "Go!" The trainer shouted, and almost instantly the two Pokémon leapt at each other, Sceptile swiping forward with a Leaf Blade and Absol responding with a Brutal Swing, the two attacks meeting and causing the dust around them to launch up as they repeatedly clashed around the training field, all the while Taidana watched carefully ready to step in as soon as he saw fit.
Krystal approached Lola, and the approaching Froakie. "What are you doing..? Silly Buneary...", she lightly smiled. "I'm sorry..Lola's pretty friendly..", Krystal stumbled a bit of a apology. Lola waved at the frog Pokémon once more, [Hello.]
"Hey Froakie, I told you not to run away like this!" Cobalt sighed at his water type, but Froakie just ignored. Cobalt then turned his attention to the trainer in front of him. "Uh.. hello my name is Cobalt!"
Shadow waited until the three trainers in front of the professor's house when inside before approaching the door. He lifted his hand towards the doorknob but hesitated to turn it. From the corner of his eye, he saw Riolu try to push at the door. His heart started racing. "I guess I'm not the only one that is starting my journey today," Shadow sighed under his breath. He carefully opened the door and silently walked inside with Riolu jumping around him with excitement. "Please don't think that I'm special with this Riolu," I thought to myself.
Silvia shook her had a large smile, "I thought you were a local, but glad to meet another out of towner." She said, letting out a sigh of relief have a possible friend. "I am Silvia Amaryllis, and this here is Cosmo." She picked up his paw to wave. "Sylveon!" It yipped loudly in reply, Silvia chuckled and petting his head, "He is really young, very excitable." She explained trying to quiet the young shiny down a little. Cobalt stepped forward from behind Silvia, offering a fin out to Daphne, "Empo, Empoleon!" He said, chest puffed up to try and show its power. "This is my starter, my little Cobalt." Silvia cooed, helping brush back from of his steel feathers. "He is so picky, I know my poffins from a few days ago wouldn't please him, so I have to start fresh." She teased, making the bird huff at her.
Daphne just laughed as she shook the Empoleon's fin. "I apologize, my friend, I somehow missed you." "Cosmo and Cobalt look mighty fine," Daphne commented as she took in the two Pokémon. Cosmo was a bit exciteable, but it wa nothing Daphne hadn't seen before. "I am a breeder in training, I have seen pretty much all of it already. My Pokémon are very picky about their food as well. So, I have to make it fresh for them. That reminds me." She grabbed two moons balls from her belt and released her Pokémon. "Lumi, Eira, meet Silvia, and her Pokémon Cobalt and Cosmo." Eira first shook out her tail, sprinkling tiny shivers of ice everywhere that softly sparkled in the light, while Lumi had turned a cautious gaze on the newcomers. The Lycanroc nodded to herself when she was convinced that the new trainer was alright. When Eira was done with trying to cover the ground with her ice, as Daphne would have put it, she just gave a small nod. "Shall we go to the stand? I think it was just past the sign-ups for that battle tournament thing they are holding here during the festival."
