1x1 A new journey begins (TalaxChoco)

Emily gulped nervously. "Wish me luck, Torchic," she said as the little Fire-type retreated into his PokéBall. Wingull twitched in his own, ready to do whatever he had to do.
The black-haired girl adjusted her ponytail before walking onstage, grabbing the seagull's ball. "Wingull, let's get the show started!"

 

Emily flung a hand up. "Wingull! Start with Water Gun!" The seagull-like Pokémon turned and blasted a spray of water into the air, letting it fly about for a moment before blasting it with a Supersonic, at his Trainer's command. A moment after, the girl called for a Wing Attack. The Water-type focused its energy and soared about the stadium, making sure to often zip through the remnants of its earlier attacks, scattering the sparkling mist across the room. When it finally settled, she checked the timer - it was about to end. With a last pose, her first performance round was over. She just hoped that it was enough to get her to the next.

 

Emily smiled back. With a bow, she left the stage, internally gasping and screaming excitedly. Second place?! This meant that the next round was out - and she was as good as ready!
"Next up, Serena - a veteran Coordinator who has come all the way from Saffron City in Kanto! She's pretty experienced, so we're excited to see what she has to offer."
"Good luck," she whispered to the other girl who was soon to go onstage.

 

The audience began cheering. The first judge nodded. "Your performance was brilliant - we expected nothing less."
The second piped up. "An elegant performance done with simple moves. Great job!"
Nurse Joy smiled. "It's clear that Poochyena is a strong Pokémon, and that you know how to handle its strength."
They all put in their scores - 8, 9, and 9. Those 26 points (1st or 2nd depending on how many points 1st place has) landed her in the highest range.

 

Emily smiled back. "You did really well! I think we'll both be able to move on to the battle round - hopefully. Good luck!"

 

Emily sighed happily. "Made it! I wonder how Rima and Luma will turn out to be as opponents. Well, whatever happens, good luck to you and Poochyena!"

 

Wingull perched on Emily's shoulder, waiting patiently for the next round to begin. He'd had experience battling... and fainting. Hopefully the next match would be fine.
