    Achromatic's Pokémon Moon Wonderlocke
Welcome to a whole new world... the world of Wonderlocke. I will be tackling the Wonderlocke challenge in Pokémon Moon. Confused what what a Wonderlocke is? Well my friend, be confused no more! Here are the rules of the challenge.

    RULES:
    • I can catch the first and only the first Pokémon in each area. If I fail to catch it, I get nothing in that area and must move on.
    • Once I have caught a Pokémon (or obtained one through gift), I must Wonder Trade it. Whatever I get back is what I must use on my team.
    • Once a Pokémon faints, it must be released - never to be used again.
    • I cannot have duplicate Pokémon on my team, therefore if I get a dupe I must Wonder Trade it back.
    • Only two heals per Pokémon Center, one before and one after the gym (if no gym, one heal).
    • Battle Style set to Set
    • If all Pokémon have fainted, the run is officially over.
So. Let's begin. I will be nicknaming all of my original Pokémon tradepkm.net so if anyone here joins because of this run, yay! :)

    Starting Off - Iki Town
So, starting off this game is painful. Really, really painful. The cutscenes seem almost endless and there is no way to skip them... I honestly had forgotten how draining this was. Still, I have prevailed this time I shall be choosing... Rowlet! Though, not like it matters since I'll be Wonder Trading it reaaaal soon.

...jk. The tutorials continue. I've still gotta do a lot more. But thankfully this journal is written live!

    Route 1
So, since I can't WT yet but I can catch, I've caught a Pikipek. It'll also be WT'd when I get the chance, but unfortunately the start of this game takes forever!!!!!

    ...

So I have FINALLY made it to the Pokémon Center and I can now Wonder Trade my two Pokémon. Let us find out what we receive. Let me say just say first, the start of this game is incredibly off-putting. I hope they fix this in US/UM.

So CHAD from France is my trade partner. For Rowlet he has sent me... a Love Ball Cutiefly. Yay? I don't feel too hyped for this little guy but I will TAKE IT. Welcome as my starter, Cutiefly. This little guy is only level one but it seems like it has some good moves and a lot of good potential.

Time for our next trade. Pikipek is going to Matt from Canada. He's sending me... an Alolan Diglett! Yay? Again, I'm not particularly interested or excited about this trade but hey, we'll get more stuff later. For now, these are our two guys.

Both are level one so yeaaaah. A little bit of grinding will be required. I'm gonna do that right now before we progress! Here I was hoping for a level 100 Giratina. I will admit though, Cutiefly having Moonblast like right now is incredibly useful. I like that a lot. I'm actually really excited for this run, despite all of the stupid endless cutscenes and tutorials. I'll definitely pass on those...

Okay I am dumb. I didn't realise I was psuedo-nuzlocking for a second and accidentally got Diglett killed. WELP. Things are clearly off to an amazing start. It's ok though, Diglett sucks and my lesson was learnt. We shall continue with our Swollen Cutiefly! It is really coming along nicely in the levels so soon we'll be able to take on some proper enemies.

That's going to be it for this entry. Sorry folks, but I'm already all tuckered out after that tutorial which seemed to never end. More next time and hopefully we'll gain some new team members.

    Trainer School
So I was a bit unsure of what to do here, but since the trainer school technically is a new area with new wild Pokémon, I think I'm gonna count it as a new location and capture something new here for Wonder Trade. My first encounter was a lil Magnemite which shall be promptly WT'd for something much much cooler! For my beautiful magnet, Genji from Dhabi (...?) is sending me... a Salandit! Please don't be a dude please don't be a dude please don't be a dude...

NOOOO IT IS A DUDE. God. Damnit. Of course. Just of course. Well, on the bright side it's level 17 so that's gonna come in more than handy for the early game. Once I get the chance though, this dude is going in the box forever because I just do not care to use it. This thing is genuinely OP btw, it has Dragon Rage so it could make extremely easy work of literally anything this early in the game. Yikes...

The school has some good battles at the very least, so it's good training for my Cutiefly. Not to mention we got the Quick Claw, which is a lovely early game standard. Woo! Trainer school is now finished and we're done with it! Time to move onto the next city where yes, we can catch a brand new Pokémon. All the cutscenes are starting to wear me out a LOT so this is pretty much my most exciting part right now.

    Hau'oli City
Time to catch myself a brand new Pokémon! It's a Yungoos. Thank god we're WTing this because I'd hate to actually use it. Well, I caught the little fellow so now it is time to trade it off into the wilderness. What will we get in return? Let us find out. Leonora from Germany is sending us a... Magikarp. WOW. REALLY. I mean you guys know I love Magikarp but this is basically torture so early on in the game. This is not our lucky day. Though... it is level 17 so I suppose evolving it later down the line would be a good idea. For now though, it's effectively useless to me and once more Cutiefly remains the MVP and the only VP...

Well, bad trades aside - it's time to become fashionable! I am really glad customisation is in this game tbh and they did a pretty good job with it. Even though money should/could be going on healing items... nah. Let's get fashionable. Gotta look good or we won't feel good! I just remembered you start off with an insane amount of money anyways so who cares! You only wonderlocke once. There we go! Now my dude actually looks like me, yay!

I REALLY wish there was a disable Hau button. Well, after making quick work of the Captain and Team Skull, I'm almost ready to be finished. However, there is one route coming up where we can catch something new soooo... I think I'm gonna do that.

    Route 2
We have found and caught a cute little Meowth. It will do very nicely for a cool little WT. Our Meowth is going to Japanese name from Japan. They're giving us... a Rat. A... rat. An alolan rat. An ENGLISH alolan rat............. OKAY FOLKS. I think that sums up this journal. That's it for now, but we shall continue and hopefully get some better mons next time. Thanks for reading!
