The first episode aired recently in America apparently and it airs tomorrow in Australia. I can't wait for it, especially since it seems like they have taken the fans into play and have mysteriously brought Coulson back to life.
Anyone else watched/going to watch it?

I saw a tidbit of the first episode and was kind of interested. I might pick it up. Looks like a good show.

I watched the first episode. It was good. But it's on at the same time as NCIS so every Tuesday I have to decide which one to watch. :P

I watched the first episode last week on tuesday and the new episode tonight. I rather enjoyed them, so far it's packed with action and keeps you on your feet. The only thing I thought was bad was the bucket load of information spread across the first 2 episodes, especially the first one. The answer to Coulson being alive wasn't completely answered until episode 2 but it still seems fishy that he survived being stabbed in the heart but whatever, I think Coulson should've remained dead.

It's been said this show will somehow tie into future movies. I'm quite interested to see where the show is headed since any part of it could impact one of the movies coming out in the next 2 years. Now it's too soon obviously for info to be in the next Thor sequel coming out in November, however I have a hunch there might be something with the next Captain America movie since he's almost like the face of SHIELD.

    Anyone have similar thoughts?

Tonight's episode was good, especially the very last scene.

Being the fangirl that I am, I let out a squeal when Coulson mentioned Tony: "Technically, Stark is a consultant" (I absolutely don't ship them, I just love Tony because I love RDJ).

Well, that was amazing. I loved their tie-ins with previous movies. I don't think they've completely answered Coulson's being alive, but I think we all have our speculations. And I loved the whole cosplay stalker thing.
What is everyone's theories about Coulson? My ideas are that Coulson is either an android or that Loki's scepter somehow was unable to kill him. I love the constant Tahiti thing though, and I get the feeling that it is going to be a major plotline.

I swear I saw the guy from the first episode in one of the Thor Dark World trailers.

Yeah there's something off about Tahiti. In the first episode Hill and the doctor's conversation about it and Coulson always saying the exact same thing "It's a magical place" when someone talks about Tahiti really shows that there's weird going on.

As a comic nerd; I will point out now that SHIELD uses LMDs

    Life Model Decoys.

They're sophisticated robots that're typically used for situations where it's too dangerous to send the real person in, but you need the real person's presence anyway. They can bleed, mimic being hurt, etc. and it's suddenly all the more unsettling when they up and kick your ass despite heavy injuries.

It's entirely possible this series' Coulson is a specially programmed LMD, and as Hill said in the beginning, "he doesn't know".

At the same time though, there is the fact that Fury made the call in The Avengers, and given what he pulled with the Captain America trading cards, it's entirely possible that this IS the real Coulson.
YOU WILL SAY NO SUCH THING ABOUT THE NOBLE SON OF COUL.[/Thorvoice]

    *cough*

VERY much enjoying the series. I liked the Cosmic Cube tie-in with this episode, and hugely enjoyed seeing "Luke Cage" in the first episode. Also; his rundown on the 084 scenario. "The last one we got was very interesting. It was a hammer." They're doing a good job of keeping this in the Marvel Universe as well; nothing blatant, but reminders here and there. I doubt they're ever going to get the likes of RDJ, Chris Evans, or ScarJo into the series, but who knows; we might get an episode with Jeremy Renner or Mark Ruffalo. At one point I'd have written off ever seeing ANY of the major actors from the film, but after Sam Jackson showed up...

    ScarJo? Sam Jackson? Really?

If LMDs play a role in this, it'll blow the minds of people who haven't read the comic books (though Tony did mention them briefly in Avengers). XD

Just as long as we don't hit the end of the series and find out that everyone's dead and this is purgatory.

Yea, I originally thought he was Luke Cage as well, then it gets to the whole extremis thing again.

I just saw the 3rd episode and I'm not too impressed. The show seems to drag for me and doesn't have a real purpose, Idk I might stick around just to see if any superheroes will make an appearance, but no promises. x3

I have to disagree with you juju. It does have a sort of drive, a group of non superheroes who, just like the Avengers, are all complete opposites take on the works of S.H.E.I.L.D.. There is actually a villain that the third episode shows. Franklin Hall is Graviton, a villain from the Marvel universe with control over gravity. I think there is going to be something ongoing with Graviton and Coulson's team.
The two things that really frustrate me are who is Skye's alliance really to and what is Coulson. With the last one I feel like Tobuscus at Christmas, are they dropping hints orjust making a random comment.

Well if they're taking the LMD route with Coulson, then his "I'm a little rusty" comment makes a hilarious amount of sense.

As for Skye; I don't think she's at all sure who she's loyal to. She had that "I'm in" moment in episode 2, but in episode 3 she had the chance to turn on them and didn't. It's quite possible she's going to have conflicting views throughout the season and at some point we're going to learn Coulson knew all along and he was just waiting to see which way she'd jump.

    And to quote wiki on last night's episode;

    The identiy's there as Sachi mentioned and even the origin seems somewhat similar. Now in the words of Jack Valenti on Freakazoid;

    BUM BUM BUUUUUMMMM

i think that the agents of shield storyline should bring back HYDRA as their main enemy as in the comics along side AIM they were perhaps shield's biggest threats, plus it would also be nice to find out if red skull survived from the captain america movie [ this could tie into the next captain america movie].

They have so many stories that haven't been ended, the Doctor from the first episode, Graviton in the third episode, the controller in the fourth episode. There are definitely going to be some follow up episodes on those.

I've seen AIM and Hydra brought up, but you do have a point about the fourth episode's villain.

Robo-eyes might not be slave discs, but this could well be The Controller.

Tonight's new episode just ended 20 minutes ago and wow what an episode.

The last scene with Skye made me tear up just a tiny bit. Seeing Coulson pissed off was great though.

Every episode also proves a better and better reason for Pepper to keep Extremis. Bring on full-fledged Rescue!

The continuity tie-ins here were nice, and I liked that awkward bit when "Centipede" was brought up.

Scorch was rather 'meh'. Also, really Phil? Succumbing to "I must empty the entire clip at the bad guy when it's clear from the first shot that my weapon will do absolutely nothing" syndroome? C'mon.

The revelation of why Skye joined up with them was...meh. I mean it'll give them some episode plots down the line, but MUH PARENTS wasn't quite...well, I dunno what I was expecting.
