When browsing on internet or while transferring files from someone, there is always a risk of your computer getting virus. So to prevent our computers and keep them safe, we download antivirus. So which antivirus program do you use? Is your computer virus free? I use Avast Antivirus. My pc is safe from virus but my mobile once had virus and it was a pain to clean it off. I downloaded quickheal and other antivirus in my phone and at last only option left for me to do was to transfer files to pc, after scanning and formal my phone.
My laptop came with a free trial of McAfee so I didn’t bother getting one xD Now that the trial is over I just use windows defender... knowing me I’ll use that until it’s toolate but oh well
I had McAfee when I got this laptop, but now I use Nortan, which it ain't free, but it is good at preventing you from having a virus.
I also use Avast. They have a good loyalty program for the paid version that I'm just waiting to see how low I can get the price for. Currently I'm up to 80% off. I used Norton before but it was so bad it was borderline like a virus itself and McAfee is probably worse.
This is me. If you use Linux and use legitimate software (and everything Open Source with good reviews is), you have almost no risk of infection. My other antivirus is having incredibly crappy internet connection. If anyone did install a trojan onto my computer and try to look around for stuff to steal, they would likely give up because they got tired of the 0.2 mbps upload speed. So yeah, there's that too.
I have Avast. I had McAfee, but it was pretty terrible. Avast is really good and doesn't constantly send annoying alerts or popups or anything. So I'm pretty content with it!
I don't fully remember the details, but I remember reading and finding out that it was either McAfee or Norton, and it was one of the worst programs (never mind Antivirus) that you could ever have on your machine. I think it was Norton. ...Though McAfee isn't great either. I use a program called Avira, and I currently have the paid version of it, though that's because my mum purchased it and it came with I think 5 licences, so she just gave one of them to me to use. I haven't had any problems to speak of since having it. I used to use Avast before migrating to Avira, and if I'm being honest, Avira is just the paid version of Avast (if memory serves, they're made by the same company). I've heard things about something called Kaspersky that's supposed to be very good, but I haven't used it. Also, I have to admit that when I read the title, I thought Pokémist had found out news of some big terrible Internet worm or situation going down. Alas, it was nothing like it.
I use Linux most of the time so I dont really need an antivirus, tho I still keep a Windows partition around, but since I mostly only use it for work stuff I dont have it an antivirus, so yeah so far I dont use any, tho I used to use ESET NOD32 wich is a really good one!
Lads, try Malwarebytes. It's free and it's great. You can get it for Windows and Mac too if you need it!
I just use the standard software that came with my computer. It works and I use a bit of judgment to now download stupid things.
