My brother showed me a video of a strange Snorlax taking down a Battle Spot Doubles team. Here's the video if you want it:

    http://youtu.be/Or3BFDy4iVE

Max out Snorlax's defenses with Stockpile and Guard Split from a Defensive Shuckle and give it a Ghost type with Trick or Treat from Gourgeist, Skill Swap Prankster from defeat opponents with Curse, take hits like a boss, Rest off the damage and Recycle to reuse that Chesto/Lum Berry.

It feels very glass cannon- if someone takes out your Gourgeist or Shuckle before they can share stats, or even take out Snorlax before it's done stacking up, the team is most likely done. But if not, then really only One-Hit KOs can take out Snorlax.

    What do you think?

That's pretty crazy! I love seeing how people find these kinds of set-ups.

I was thinking of making a set list something like this:

Fattie Fat Fat (Snorlax) @ Chesto Berry
    Ability: Thick Fat
    EVs: 80 HP / 252 Def / 176 SpD
    Impish Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Curse
    - Recycle
    - Rest
    - Stockpile
The 80 HP EVs give it an odd number of HP for shenanigans. Using a Chesto Berry instead of a Lum Berry leave it more vulnerable to confusion, but it won't get consumed faster if Snorlax gets frozen, burned, asleep, paralyzed, or poisoned. Plus Rest will heal the status infliction if it isn't frozen or already asleep.

Hell, I may make this team and make a RMT for it, lolz.

lol It's Verlisify, one of the least respected players in Smogon's eyes. Remember the huge fiasco about M-Luke bans and crap? >_>

He advertised Minimize-Baton Pass Drifblim for VGCs so... I wouldn't really try that in a serious battle. xD

Nope, don't remember, don't particularly care. XD Because this is a serious discussion of viability of a team that's a sliver-thick glass cannon, so I'm gonna ladder the crap out of it. XD #sarcasm

Gourgeist should of been KOed but idk why the opponent didnt use ice beam on gourgeist.
    But intresting strategy overall!
For all this time I have been using simple beam + stockpile combo so that snorlax can be maxed in defenses
    in 3 turns.

the other guy played it terribly!
I dont think that this set can work in any point!
if the opponent set up or even switches all the time, or having taunt(really common in doubles) then this team is gone!
Also, its not easy for snorlax to set up all the time like that!
Even in this video, this guy was lucky that reshi was confused!

That's a pretty interesting stall strategy there. Snorlax undeniably has a lot of different stall techniques that can be utilized with other Pokémon. The only thing about this strategy that concerns me is that even though snorlax can spend time buffing up, any move like whirlwind, dragon tail, or roar would ruin the strategy. Opposing Pokémon can also set up while Snorlax does and anything with taunt would stop bit, since its an All Status Pokémon. XD

Other than that, his opponent was kind of iffy. Using ice beam from Primal Kyogre on Snorlax? Spamming Sheer Cold? This guy really didn't know how to use his team properly and it drove me nuts. If Kyogre Ice Beamed Gourgeist instead, he would have lost the ghost typing addition.

This is a pretty creative strategy, but really only works if the opponent doesn't really know what he/she is doing. It's heavily flawed when it comes to the beginning of the match. If the opponent had played their cards right, they would have taken out the Gourgeist in the beginning rather than aim for the more special bulky Snorlax.

    Dude this is so cool.

I love it when people come up with brilliant ideas like this.

But honestly I think the opponent would have to have little knowledge of the game in order to make this work.

Of course this will fail if the team knocks out before he can set up.
But even if he did set up... smart opponents would be switching out of the curse consistently, especially if they had moves like Volt Switch, Baton Pass, etc. The Volt Switch allows the Pokémon to take no damage from curse at all since Snorlax has the Prankster ability -- they would go last. It would be very bad for Snorlax ran out of Rests or Curses. If Snorlax ran out of Rest before Curse, then he will die rather quickly to a Toxic Stall. Or, if he ran out of Curses, then what is he going to do to put off damage? Struggle? Heh, good luck getting to that point. And even if he does, the recoil damage is just terrible.

And like @[member="Bloom"] said, Whirlwind = GG Snorlax.

But damn that was one stupid tanky Snorlax.
