Kawaii is lyfe What are your thoughts on "cute" things? What do you consider to be cute attributes? Do you consider yourself cute? It's interesting seeing what other perspectives people have on what is or isn't cute. I think there have been some studies shown that small size, big eyes, innocence and cuddly features make something cute... like babies for example. The cuteness apparently motivates parents to protect their young. It can also explain why a lot of pet owners love to snuggle with their pets, because they have a high source of kawaii. What do you think?
I ‘ve never put to much thought into what I consider to be cute. I’ve always adopted the mindset of, “I know it when I see it.” But, there’s also the image of someone trying really hard and getting very passionat about something that can also be cute. Not always, but somethings.
@Achromatic the title called for you. Cute stuff is great. Give me a cute doggo or a cute bird and it'll make me feel happy! Cute stuff is a great pick me up for sure.
My life is powered by cute stuff lol. I get the most enjoyment out of drawing cute things. Big eyes and being small are definitely big factors in what's cute, but I like what @warriorseadra mentioned about how acting in certain ways can be cute, as I've experienced this many times with people that I wouldn't normally think of that way.
I love cute stuff! I don't consider my self very cute but the stuff I create I aim to make cute! I also have my fair share of cute items that I like to surround my self in and take photos of! <3 Cuteness to me varies, it can be the typical big eyed cute creature or a big or a scary person/animal acting gentle around other smaller animals/people. Or it can be people talking about things their passionate about. Or it can be things with cute colour schemes! Hhhh! I just love cute stuff ;w;
If I were to choose one word to describe my art style, or at least what i want it to be: Cute. And sometimes creepy as heck.
The only thing that surprises me here is why this thread exists only now, and not before. As most people who know me are aware, cute things are definitely not part of my aesthetic. They're not something I actively seek out, nor are they things I tend to incorporate. Every so often I might find an image of a cute object to use as a signature, though only to deviate from my normal aesthetic once in a while. In my hunt for signature images I've stumbled upon a large handful of cute pictures (largely due to the sites where I go to search), though when I search I'm looking for something highly specific; if it's something cute, odds are I won't pay it a second thought. Sometimes I get complimented on a cute signature, but I think it's only because it comes as a surprise to people that I'd use one - which it should be, because it's never a first, second, or third choice. And then you have things that are 'too cute', bordering on the saccharine. Those things just make me want to vomit.
Oh well, I lIke cute things. Sometimes I am neutral to it if someone overdo cuteness. I dont think I am cute but people say it. Though, I have been said cute only online so I know the reason behind it. I use words like "Sowwi" and "chu" and I use emoticons/emoji a lot.
I usually think of something small and fluffy and/or squishy when I think of something cute. I don't usually think of people as cute. People are flesh blobs. I guess I tend to gravitate towards cute things because people tend to think I'm a lot younger than I actually am, and it's become habitual over time to play into that. I'm not sure I necessarily prefer cute things over anything else. I'd just as likely have a Mega Aggron on my team as an Eevee. I like cute and cool/tough things about the same.
Absolutely love cute things. The first thing that comes to mind is my art style because that's what so many people label it as. I can't really describe what I consider cute because if I find it cute, then it's cute.
I live for cute things. I'm not cute myself, but I do appreciate cute things. Like you I think cute attributes are more along the lines of things that indicate happiness. Like blushing, simplicity, and smiles.
For the most part, I feel neutral towards cute things. Fluffy and poofy baby animals (not human babies) are easily cute, but not much else. A much more common term for me to use is 'adorable', which I feel is very similar to cute, but also completely different...I don't know how to explain it, but, like, if I'm watching a movie or something and there's this character who is a charming dork and is maybe a little socially awkward (those are always my favorite characters), I don't call him 'cute', I call him 'adorable'.
The definition of cute changes all the time, and what people often call cute come off as cringeworthy to me. It's hard to think of attributes of cuteness since I've never actually thought to myself "Hey, this is pretty cute!", and the definition is different to every person. One man's meat is another man's poison. I certainly don't consider myself as cute, or any other person I know.
I love cute things! Cute animals, birds, toys, plants, clothes, Pokémon! I also consider myself cute~
