By this point, everyone knows about Nintendo's newest way to charm the money right out of our pockets: the amiibo line. With two lines of amiibo already confirmed, amiibo have a way of showing up in just about every franchise... but Pokémon seems to be left out for the time being, for simple reasons (the New Nintendo 3DS and amiibo adapter have yet to be released in North America).

A simple question, really: What would amiibo bring to the Pokémon world? With Pikachu, Lucario, and Charizard already officially confirmed, and Greninja and Jigglypuff only a small ways behind, we already have Pokémon amiibo. But what would scanning your little trophy do?

Add items like Ultra Balls and Full Restores to your inventory? Add the Pokémon they represent to your collection? Give you evolutionary items that are hard to find in standard gameplay? Could this be the future of event exclusives like Mew?

What would you expect to see? What would you like to see?
