When you draw humans/creatures/etc do you focus a lot on making sure that their anatomy is correct? Or do you tend to focus on other areas such as backgrounds? Or maybe you aren't focused on anything and just wanna draw to relax! Understandable. I used to not care about anatomy at all because I didn't take art seriously. But now I try to be as accurate as I can while still staying within my style. But I'm also glad a lot of the Pokémon I draw don't have 'correct' animal anatomy because quite a few aren't based on real animals at all.
I try to practice anatomy whenever I can. I can say that I've gotten a lot better over the past couple of years.
If there's one thing I've learned about drawing human anatomy, it's to constantly flip your canvas. You're gonna cry the first time you see how weird it looks, but you gradually learn to make adjustments accordingly.
i guess i just try to get it right using my styles "rules" or something? of course i had to learn proper anatomy beforehand and it was h ell but it helps!! even if your style isnt anatomy perfect it helps so much!!! flipping your canvas is a pretty good thing to do but i dont do it very often....... haha whoops
