    Because fathers are important. And no one in the Pokémon world seems to know where the heck they all went. Like seriously is it that hard to install a male sprite that just like sits at home in these games?

    Anyways, why do you think all the fathers just up and left? Are they all at working in faraway places, making the dough so their wives and kids can stay at home or travel the world? (that's my headcannon at least). Share your thoughts.

    In the mean time. Here's some fathers as proof that yes, they do exist:

    Norman. Your father in gen 3. Personally never played 3rd gen but this guy seems pretty cool. He's a gym leader & challenges his kids to battle while encouraging them on their journey. Pretty awesome just from that description if you ask me.

    Koga. Father of Janine. He was a Gym Leader. Now she's a Gym Leader. He's a member of the E4. She fights in the World Tournament. He's a ninja. She's a ninja. All is good with this family.

    Bianca's father. I thought this guy was super super important because he's like every normal kid's father in the 21st century. "You're like, what, 14 at best and you want to go travel the world with absolutely no clue wtf you're doing with a pet that shoots leaves out its ass? Heck no. I'm not paying for that crap." Heck, I'm 20 and I can't even do that...

    Giovanni. Silver's father. Pokémon origins art because his voice was the smex in that show. Anyways, I think the message here was you either get a kind, loving father or a badass crime boss, gym leader, master of the cool Pokémon and giver of the all holy Earthquake TM (or Fissure, Fissure's cool too). Personally, if I was Silver I'd have wanted in on the action. And we'll just ignore the angsty, possibly suicidal personality regression by the end of the gen II remakes... *covers ears while humming*

    Ghetis, N's father....I think? Or adopted/father figure anyways. Either way he's kind of a dick...Unlike Giovanni he actually admits to just using his son for his evil plots and says he's a disappointment right to his face. What a meanie :(

    James's father. Memorable because of that mustachio. And he's rich. Very important *nods*

    Ash's father. Apparently he was a Trainer but never registered on the Pokémon Trainer list and kinda just disappeared after he went out on his own journey. Look at the pic, he's showing more love to that Rapidash than Ash :(

    With that title I thought this would be a poll. XD
    It's kinda odd how most of the characters only got mothers, but you forgot one dad, Proffesor Birch! his the father of May or Brendon. If we stick to the anime I'm not sure if he is father to anyone, but he is in both the game and the manga!

    Oh cool. I didn't know he was even a father lol. I added him to the spoiler...but idk anything about him :o

    And I could make it a poll but it's kinda obvious who would win. There aren't really that many to choose from lol

    diffently gonna be Ash's father who would grab the victory. -jk-
    there is a theory that the narrator from the anime is Ash's father. so instead of an absent father we would have a doted father with a video camera who would follow his son and his friends everywhere while he films them. of course that is just a theory I read somewhere, but it would explain some few things.

    Nah it's totally Giovanni. That smexy Kiritsugu voice~ Funnily enough I don't think Silver hates his father cuz he was a dick to him but more the fact that he was weak. As apposed Ghetis who talks down to his kid...I don't like Ghetis...


    ..that went from absent to kinda creepy...XD

    Anyways, found this pic that's kind of cute. Note that 4th gen was so unmemorable for me that I completely about those characters, let alone their parents...Not entirely sure who the last girl is...I know the scientist dude is the one responsible for mewtwo but I don't remember a mention of a daughter in those movies o.0

    I think the girl at the end was from the mewtwo special anime episode? though the year on the drawing doesn't really match up.
    I also forgot most of the fathers from gen IV. I really didn't like that gen that much. I should remember them for the manga at least.
    The manga is a whole lot better at showing the family relationships sometimes. take Giovanni in the FRLG arc as an example and the HGSS arc. snap he is both a great and a terrible father at the same time

    When you say the manga do you mean Pokémon Adventures? Or are there spin offs by now?

    Does Red have a father in the manga? I know Green has parents o.0

    diffently adventures! or special or what ever it gets called! I think the manga is some of the best part of the Pokémon, it got me really hooked :3
    I don't think we see any of Red's parents. And with Green we are talking the girl now I presume, cause yes she got parents and we are showed both. She might be one out of two characters where you see both of the parents, the other be Ruby. When talking manga I think Norman might be a little to violent to be the fater of the year when he literally swings stairs after his son.
    I also think the manga gives some extra parent's here and there. missing a mom? throws a mom at you. missing a dad? throws at dad at you.

    I read the FRLG arc in Adventures just now (so not doing any work). Red and Blue are such cuties omg I'm loving this XD And Giovanni was such a dick at the beginning. Then he did this kinda daddy moment with Silver which idk if I find adorable or kinda awkward lol.

    Oh, you mean Amber. I remember her, from the Mewtwo's Origin short. Dang, that was sad.

    Long story short, the scientist guy was her father. She died at a very young age, so he tried to clone her as part of the cloning project that created Mewtwo so that she could have a new life. Amber, Mewtwo, and clones of Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, all became friends and had a few telepathic adventures toguether. Sadly, the cloning failed for everyone but Mewtwo, and Amber and Mewtwo's friends all died, causing him to pretty much go crazy in anger.

    Amber didn't have much screen time, but she was adorable and I hated that they killed her off. Way to make children cry, Pokémon...

    All I knew about that guy was that he's the creator of Mewtwo and looks like Dr Tenma from Astroboy

    You should read the RS arc, the battle between Ruby and Norman is kinda hardcore.

    so the girl is from the Mewtwo's Origin short, I'm not really sure I have ever heard of that one :/

    Byron and his son Roark. Both Gym leaders in Sinnoh and Byron seems like a pretty cool father. This family must be as solid as a rock *ba dum tss*.

    I also think Elm was a father too a minor character that was a small NPC kid. might remember wrong though.
    ohhh and there is also Juniper's father, Cedric! I forgot all about him.

    Oh yeah, forgot about Jupier's father. Don't remember Elm having a kid. Bulbapedia said he has an "unnamed wife and child tho"

    In other news, while still reading Pokémon Adventures. Giovanni has O type blood. Silver has AB blood.....that's...not possible....is it? o.0 o.o
