Angry at the Author or the Character

    Curious as to how many people have encountered these two.

    Every now and then, one gets frustrated with a manga.

    Sometimes, the annoyance is with a character doing something or other, and other times it's with the author.

    For example; I've noticed that whenever some twist or some event happens in Bleach, the general response is to rage at Kubo moreso than whichever character was behind the twist (usually Aizen). Whether it was "This isn't a doll." or "When did you assume I wasn't using Kyoka Suigetsu?", it was always Kubo getting the hate.

    By contrast, after the events in chapter 472 of One Piece, there was a huge upwelling of hatred for Admiral Akainu. Nobody really got upset/mad at Oda for that chapter, but the legions of people giving Akainu the "KHAAAAAAAAAAN!" reaction were more than a little numerous.

    So do y'all find yourselves more annoyed with the author of a series or more angered by the character's actions in a series?

    That is tough. I don't know whether to feel hatred towards the character who does something or the author for making the character do something. I do like saying characters are evil, but it is the way they are created. Then there are the characters created to make you hate them. I just hate whatever feels right.

    I often get things like

    Character: "Oh, well I guess ill do this then" *does something bad without knowing although obviously bad*
    Me: "NO DON'T DO THAT NO YOU IDIOT WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY..."
