    Out of curiosity,
What do you guys know about Animation?

Do any of you have a favourite style of animation?
    A favourite program?

Anything that you think is vital an animator knows?
(Just an animator looking for tips as you can probably tell)

I Like 2D Animation Cause It's More Easier Than 3D. And Geronimo Stilton Animated Series Is What Brought Me To Animation. I Am Still Learning About Animation.

It Is Really Important To Learn This Term, 'FPS'--Short Form Of 'Frame Per Seconds'. This Will Determine The Timing Of Your Animation And All Of Your Animated Scenes.

I've never animated before (I have no visual-artistic talent), but I've been told it's super important to have good sound design. To make sure the world and action are brought to life by the sounds just as much as the voice and the visuals. Footsteps accomplish a lot, as do random far-off sounds caused by what's happening on-screen. There's a loud crash here, have a car alarm go off in the distance, or if someone throws an object off screen, have a cat yowl like it's scared because it almost got hit; both of those show that the world isn't just the box that you see right now, but is an entire inhabited world. Someone gets slapped or punched, actually make the sound of the same thing happening to a slab of meat. Boring, empty, or just bad sound design can ruin animation. Live-action doesn't need to worry about it as much, since there's natural non-studio sounds, so you need to put your own love and attention into it for animation.

You're Right. But It Is Job For Sound Designer And Voice Actors. But If Both Sound Designer And Voice Actors Complete The Project, Then Animator Need To Create The Scene Based On The Storyboard And The Work Of Both Sound Designer And Voice Actors.

On the subject of frame rate, most western 2D animation goes at 24fps, the same as most movies.

3D animation can look amazing with the right people and budget, but it doesn’t age as well. Compare Toy Story 1 with Moana and you’ll see a massive difference. 2D animation from even the forties can still look great because of how timeless traditional lineart is. For that reason, I usually prefer 2D animation over 3D.
