Anime characters that never should've died

L and Light from Death Note. I felt that he should have defeated Light, if Light were to fail. If L were to die, then Light should have won. Screw Near. There's others I know that shouldn't of died, but I can't think of them atm.

I know he dies in the manga too, but Neji from Naruto. He was a complete boss and I'm still mourning his death.

 

Okay, so Zankyou no Terror

The ending when they kill off Twelve and Nine is so frustrating. I think that one of them dying might have made sense, but the two of them dying in the way that they died just made no sense. I feel like one of them should have lived (probably Nine), but they die in a way that makes it feel like a last minute decision.

Mayu Arita's 'death' in the show (not the real one, the one in episode 11) is quite weird. It feels like an unnecessary ending to her story and feels too sudden to make sense. I honestly feel like after Chiyuki disappeared they would've found a way for her to become and arbiter instead... That would've made more sense than the drop into the void because...

 

Death Parade's~
I loved her, and she was already dead, but they didn't say how, and when I found out, I wanted to laugh. She shouldn't have died that way.

Xerxes Break from Pandora Hearts. I'm probably biased since I absolutely adore him but I was shocked at his death and it damaged me for a while since he was my favorite character. Guess there was no other possible outcome given that his body was already falling apart ages before that.. but it's just so sad. Especially now that the manga ended and they talked about everyone's future after what occurred towards the end with him not part of it. Gah. My heart.

I'm not sure if this counts as a spoiler since its the first thing to happen in the series and even mentioned in the synopsis, but I'll put it under a tag just in case:

TOTSUKA TATARA. Goddd, @[member="LostSpirit"] knows what I'm talking about. I feel as though Totsuka died way too early. It's obvious he's a character with a ton of potential. I understand how important his interactions with his clan were, but I would have adored to see him interact with others such as Kuroh or Shiro. I think they would have been great friends. While I know Gora won't bring poor Totsuka back, I wish he got some time to spend with characters outside of HOMRA...

Kamina dying in first arc of Gurren Lagann. Such a shame! I really liked him, and after he got le kill'd, I really lost interest in checking out the rest of the series. And it was one of the first animes I ever watched, too.
