Anyone have some awesome tips about how to deal with anxiety of any kind? I could really use it.

I have really severe anxiety and dermatillomania is not a fun thing to have either with it, so I'd love to learn some more coping mechanisms that work for this disorder or anything in general, it would mean a ton. Please answer seriously<3
    thank you!

I'm afraid it may not be that easy since we're all different and what work for others may not work at all for you.

The general advice tho is to try distract yourself to keep you mind off the anxiety, you can do things like play a video game maybe with other people so they can help keep you distracted, doodle something (you like drawing right?), talk to people you trust about your issue, listen to music, exercise, taking a shower. There's many options for how to cope with anxiety but finding the right one may be hard since the options for coping is endless.

Being born with an anxiety disorder myself I'm used to frequent attacks but it never makes them any easier. I suggest you try out some of the things I mentioned and see if they work. Some of the things mentioned are the things I do when I get an attack but anxiety being the little brat it is I need multiple ways to deal with it depending on how bad the attack is since one method may not always work.

My attacks are then followed by what I've dubbed a "I don't give a fuck" day, a day where I just take care of myself and don't give a hoot about anything else since I often need to recharge after an attack. I eat whatever I want, do whatever I want and shove everything else I don't care to do to the side if that's possible. Is generally a slow day meant specifically for recovering from an attack.

You probably feel like you are completely unique in experience right now, but you're not the first person to think these thoughts and you're certainly not alone.
Share your feelings with the people you know. If you haven't told about anxiety to the people around you, the cycle of hiding and going deeper only makes it more difficult to get the help that you need.
Think about different causes, or the reason behind it. The more you understand about your anxiety disorder, it can be easier for you to recognize when jumping to the worst case scenario.
Pledge today that, to make a healthier lifestyle. When you are exercised, when relationships are right, and nutrition is right, you know you're on the right track.

What you both said means a lot, really. I thank you for the seriousness taken on this! (I was a little scared no one would respond) I do take psychology to further understand my disorders, and I'm in therapy and on medication, and it means a lot people realize those things alone aren't always enough, you know? I do distract myself with what I love, I just need to learn to keep at it, or to not overthink and let my thoughts stray when I'm not doing anything. Is there anything that encourages you to make a change in your life, like, to actually take steps forward and be who you want to be?

Hmm, I am a really anxious person with many fears that I may have a terrible disease most of the time.

Most of this has gone away though, and I am willing to share tips to get rid of anxieties, or at least help!

    - Try to have a positive mindset on not just anxiety, but on your outlook of the world. Thinking positive thoughts and loving everybody really helped me. Sometimes I tried to picture myself as an indestructible wall during tough situations (like going on the airplane or during a family argument).

    - Daydreaming helps a lot. Staying in a positive world where it's just you and what you love may keep you in a positive mood. I daydream all the time during every minute of every hour (I've mastered imagination). I talk to my favourite characters, picture I'm in their worlds, or close my eyes and picture a happy place in tough situations.

    - Breathing. It works! Breathe deeply... in... out... and concentrate ONLY on your breaths. Hear your breaths and nothing else. Do this for a while and you will feel relaxed. If this doesn't help, lie down in a comfortable bed on your back. Tuck your knees (while on your back) so that your knee caps face the ceiling and place your hands over your stomach. Then, close your eyes and inhale and exhale deeply for maybe a minute or so. Focus on nothing but your breaths. Hear the breaths. Picture yourself in a calm lake bed floating with lotuses and petals. Focus on the breathing. There is only a finite number of breaths one can take in their lifetime, so make the most of your breaths when you are trying to relax.

Well, I hope you find these useful! The last one is the most helpful to me. It's sort of like meditation, but it helps me to get rid of anxieties.

Always remain calm, think positive thoughts and listen to music.
    This is what I do.

    Or do something distracting/creative.
