Were you disappointed by any 3DS games?

I heard many were disappointed with Paper Mario Sticker Star due to its apparent lackluster story in comparison to past Paper Mario games and confusing puzzles. I personally agree immensely with anyone who claims its puzzles were too difficult - I started having to google pretty much everything and begun following walkthroughs around world 2 or 3 because it ended up being too confusing. Definitely wouldn't call it a disappointing game but that's as close as you'll get for me, I suppose. :P That and it was my second 3DS game right after Nintendogs that came with my system (plus I've never played Paper Mario) so there wasn't much to compare it to. On its own it's a pretty good game, just maybe not for kids?

    Pokémon. Rumble. Blast.
The game mechanics were so simple, it honestly just felt like a game you would find in the app store on your phone.
There's no strategy, all you pretty much have to do is mash the a button and you pretty much pass the game.
It was not worth the money I spent on it.

Rumble Blast, Sticker Star, both of which have been mentioned, I agree with. Sonic Generations 3DS was really short unless you count all those extra missions things which are a pain in the rear. Not a fun game. Its only good for its music.

Eh, Pokémon Rumble Blast was at least decent. A really disappointing game was PMD: GoI... Gods, that ruined the PMD franchise. Also, there was this one puzzle game that I was curious about called MYST that had really clunky controls and it felt badly designed.

I've only really played three 3DS games, and the only one that has disappointed me was Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. It's a fine game and all, just compared to Explorers of Sky, it disappointed me greatly. But I've ranted about that plenty already, hehe.

This might sound a little weird, but to me, Super Smash Bros for 3DS felt really... rushed. I don't know why, I just didn't find it nearly as good as I thought it would be.
Though the lack of a smash attack button option is probably a good reason.

Pokémon Rumble Blast was a huge disappointment for me, I was expecting more. I didn't like the fact that you could mash your way through the levels or that even when increasing the difficulty of the levels the Pokémon were not challenging enough.

Rumble Blast, Sticker Star, and Conception II.

    Rumble Blast I only got in the first place because I was buying a 3DS and none of the other games out at the time seemed appealing. I liked that it had a storyline compared to Rumble, but after completing said storyline, there really wasn't much else for me to enjoy doing x_x Plus, they took shiny Pokémon out of it ;;

Sticker Star seemed really cool because of the battle system (using stickers found to battle foes in a Paper Mario/Paper Mario 2-esque style), but the plot and stage system were meh. Not the biggest fan of platformers (though I did enjoy Super Paper Mario), so it was kinda difficult for me to keep playing.

Conception II I mostly disliked because of the shitty voice acting (and no option to switch to Japanese voices; I could turn them off but eh) and the fact you could only bring females into dungeons with you. Yeah, I get that it's a sort of harem-y game, but it would've been cool if you could bring along some of the other male characters too.

EDIT: Ah, yeah, Smash Bros. also isn't as good as I hoped it to be, but I think that's mostly due to the storyline being removed thanks to people leaking things. I think I spent the least time playing it before switching to another game than any other 3DS game I got so far, haha.

Bravely Default for me--the story was okay (if a bit repetitive), but some of the bosses are just too darn hard, even on EASY mode.

PMD: Gates to Infinity. I've ranted in this and Shhmew explained it simply, so it should be pretty obvious why lol

I'll echo Bravely Default. I love the music and characters but the difficulty frustrated me immensely, even on easy mode, to the point where I wasn't able to enjoy the game and stopped playing altogether. I didn't want to spend tens of hours grinding and limiting myself to the "best" job combos just to be able to get through the game - if I was looking for a challenge I would've selected the normal or hard difficulty. Meh. I'll never beat this game.

There's also Hometown Story. It is insanely cute and admittedly looks alone were enough to get me to buy it but you're thrown into the game with almost no explanations on how to get items to sell and make money off of. Managing a shop was a lot easier and more fun in games like Recettear. Hometown Story doesn't even let you grow crops or fish.. felt very incomplete.

To be fair on Sonic Generations 3DS and I havent played it yet. Most sonic games in the past were about self improvment and facing against yourself. It's like a race against the clock.

For me scribblenauts was an unexpected letdown.

Mario 3d land. Man, that game was the king of easy mario games. And mario games are DEFINITELY not supposed to be easy, at least in my experience.

That game has tons of stupid design choices. They throw in tons of bottomless pits that are hard to avoid. Not to mention in that game modern Sonic is just classic Sonic with a boost. Classic Sonic gets the homing attack and such as the game goes on.

Epic Mickey. Honestly, the original wii title was really good, but the 3DS game is so short and easy even if it is still fun. Really was a let down, finished it the day I got it.

Rumble Blast was a huge disappointment for me. The gameplay is very repetitive and the story wasn't good at all. There's nothing too great about it and sometime I wonder why I even bought it in the first place.

I expected PMD: Gates to Infinity to be better than or at least as good as PMD: Explorers of Sky but sadly that wasn't the case. I think the storyline was okay, but there wasn't enough Pokémon in the game and there's nothing to do post-game but to do missions and upgrade your Paradise. They didn't even put all of Unova region's Pokémon in the game, which is kind of a bummer.

so far i havent had any 3DS games feel like a particular let down, but the most disappointing would have to be tales of the abyss. dont get me wrong its a fantastic game i loved it from start to almost finish. and the little optional conversations you could read where lovely and made me feel more for the characters, but the end of the game bothered me. not the boss fight or the actual ending itself but that once you beat the boss thats it. its the end. if you missed anything you have to start a new game, and while yes it had good replay value it just bothered me that it was the end of everything and i couldnt spend hours of free time hunting titles and collecting all the weapons and items which i enjoy doing after completing a game
