Have you ever had something good happen to you, then some horrible timing of misfortune, or your own blunder caused it all to become null and void? I'll start off with my own example: I was playing Pokémon Black once, when I encountered a shiny Fearow. After being very cautious to whittle its health down, I caught it. I was called for dinner, so I turned off my DSi... before realizing I didn't save. Please note that this was my first shiny Pokémon encounter EVER. Has anyone else had something good be ruined like that before?
I forgot what game this was, but a few years ago I got super into this Wii game. One day I save over my main save file. I raged so hard that day. I don't even think it was a good game, to be honest.
I saved up all my orbs for the Nohrian Summer banner because, while I dislike Fates in general, Summer!Corrin is a strong unit (and I already missed out on Spring!Cowmilla). You know who kept showing up? SULLY. The Panther-wannabe from Awakening with worse stats and useless SI. SO. MANY. SULLYS. And THEN, no blue orbs to choose from. Guess who shows up? Leo and ELISE. That stupid air-headed loli... *headdesks repeatedly*
I go to check this after seeing you guys reply, and a Legendary Egg appears. I go to catch it, and when I use a Pokéball, a pop-up appears saying 'You cannot have two tabs open with a Pokémon in each one'. The Legendary egg then dissappears. The worst thing? I HAD NO OTHER TABS OPEN. I missed out on a Legenday Egg because of a glitch
Dang... that has got to hurt. I'm so sorry! Once, before flying back to my home country, I was having a pretty dandy week - I was on top of all my chores, schoolwork, and deserved a good break, and what better way to do so than to fly back home, meet my family, and just chill? But noo, the day I was supposed to fly back home, the flight got canceled. That day was definitely an eye-opener for me - that when life becomes too good, it'll come toppling down one way or another. >_<
I used to always sprain my wrist playing soccer (I'd fall and sprain it) and it was frustrating because I couldn't use that hand for anything! Including eating.
I lost my favorite pen once, I spent all day looking for it cause I didn't want to do my homework without it only to find it in my notebook with my homework. Wasted 1 whole day lol.
As far as I remember, the one time I had something good happen to me only to blow up in my face was encountering the shiny Weezing. It used Explosion first turn. I felt so angry when it happened...
I think I was playing HGSS when this happened, I had my Togepi use Metronome and it used Self-Destruct, okay annoying back to the center and heal. Then in the next battle I for some weird reason choose Metronome again and guess what, it used Self-Destruct again. That made me just a tad mad since what are the chances of getting the same move twice in a row.
I had a similar case with Pokémon Gold back in the day. After trying time and time again, I finally defeated the champion. Unfortunately, I also got really impatient during the end credits, so I kept pressing button combinations hoping one of them would allow me to skip it. That's how I discovered you can restart a game by holding B, A and start. Luckily, I managed to beat the champion again, but I was really mad at myself for that.
I once decided not to delete my history so it would be more convenient to access stuff and that's how my friend discovered the wonderful world of Yuri!!! on ICE fanfiction. It was super easy to get to all my old sites, but then I let someone else use my computer, and I, like the doofus I am, forgot that I had been of FF earlier. Another thing was that I forgot to eat this piece of cake after dinner and it SPOILED #MissingNo
I was answering questions on my Q&A thread just now, and when I post a reply to two members, another member's post appears right before mine. Me, being the idiot I am, posted a SEPARATE post to answer his question. Only when the deed was done I realized I posted twice in a row. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to pray to the Almighty Azelf that nothing majorly bad happens.
I don't know what you're talking about. On topic, events of this nature don't usually occur to me, in that I have a lot of good things happen and then a weird bad thing ruins it - or even the other way around. My days tend to be either all good or all bad whenever that happens (with a few neutral events mixed in here and there). I do get frustrated whenever I have unproductive days, or whenever I have to deal with my relatives for some reason, though nothing is so egregiously bad as to really adversely affect me. Even in video games this doesn't tend to happen. If I get Game Over'd, I keep calm, see what worked and what didn't, and then try again with a tweak to my strategy. It's a process of trial and error, but eventually it tends to work.
I swear that Aerodactyl is doing this just to annoy me. I encountered it for the tenth time (I think... it's some double-digit number) and I finally had Pokeballs to try to catch it. I use my Pokéball... and I get the 'Pokémon in another tab' glitch, and the Aerodactyl escapes. HEAR ME NOW, AERODACTYL, YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED! YOU WILL BE MINE!
This was pretty recent: our dishwasher broke, so I decided to help out and wash all the lunch dishes. I was pretty proud of myself for that - and then my mom told me to wash all the dishes in the dishwasher, too. Moral of the story: don't help out until they beg and scream.
