A question I've seen asked a lot, do you think Amiibo are worth buying? If not, tell us why! I have no personal opinion on the subject.

Well if you have a great interest in a particular Amiibo character and have games that can utilize them, I don't see why you wouldn't buy one. It kind of depends on the reason you're buying them for. Obviously wasting all that money just to have every single Amiibo seems a bit unnecessary. If you are buying it as a "toy figure" alone, I think that is a pretty weak reason as they are purposely made to be used in combination with certain WiiU games and you can just buy regular figures of them. In addition to that, some Amiibo are a LOT more common than others, resulting in a rarity in other Amiibo. If it so happens that your favorite character is one of these unfortunate rare Amiibo, you are pretty much out of luck and will either have to hunt them down or purchase them online and hope they aren't out of stock. Overall, I think that Amiibo are pretty fun and useful game additions, but you should save your efforts on just buying a few characters that you really like and don't stress over too much about not getting one or enough of them.

Overall I think they are pretty neat (especially with smash 4). If I had a wii U and smash bros for it, I would without a doubt get one and try to raise it into a dangerous opponent for me and others on the smash bros battlefield.

As a collectible of favorite/popular nintendo characters they have possible value, but since I don't have a wiiU or smash for it, they aren't. If they ever did make an adapter for the 3DS then maybe I'd be more tempted to get one

I had a 5 dollar gift card to best buy, went and saw the amiibo and didn't even know they were compatible with wii U, only thought its a sweet looking figurine and since I had a gift card to burn I bought one (obviously amiibo aren't 5 dollars but the gift card contributed). Looks awesome to me, and with its compatibility its worth it definitely.

I think it depends on what games you're into, and how much the amiibo features in said games interest you.
I have five of them (I got Mario and Kirby at Smash Wii U's release, and Luigi, Yoshi and DK for Christmas), and I have to say, they're an absolute blast. I like to think that I'm pretty good at Smash Bros. (I couldn't play at tournament-level, for sure), and I'm pretty damn good with Luigi (One of my two mains, alongside Pikachu), but Mama Luigi (My Luigi amiibo) is VERY good and has beat me quite a few times, although I can still defeat him. They definitely pick up on your tactics- My Kirby amiibo ALWAYS tries to hit me with its down-air when I'm trying to recover, and has killed me with it a few times.
The Mario Kart compatability is pretty neat in my opinion, although not that great, especially since I rarely actually play as my Mii in the first place... although if it unlocked Kirby as a character (Still hoping for him as DLC), I'd be over the moon with it.
Not played Hyrule Warriors, so I can't really talk about that...
Yeah, overall, if you're a Smash Bros. fan and like the idea of having a terminator that uses all of your skills, then they're well worth investing in.
EDIT: Also Hidden Lore, they're making a 3DS adapter for them, and the New 3DS has built-in compatibility with them.

From a collectors standpoint, they are worth every penny. I pre-ordered my Link Amiibo the second it was revealed. Functionality wise, they tend to be rather mediocre, normally only unlocking a few things and that's it. I really hope Nintendo works on making something that really takes advantage of the potential that Amiino offer. Who knows, we may get a Nintendo version of Animal Crossing exclusively for Amiibo, where all the villagers are digital representations of the various Amiibo you possess. I know I would pick that up in a heartbeat.

I do feel that they are a great addition to everyone's nintendo collection. Personally I would buy them for collectible purposes since I do not own a Wii U just yet, but they sound pretty fun to collect. I like the fact that you are able to use them to customise your own mains.

They actually seem pretty cool and if I wasn't saving up for a laptop, I'd have bought at least 3 by now. I watched Balrog's video about the same topic and it seemed like they were worth it to me, so I'm gonna say yes.
