I have written a couple novelizations of Pokémon movies, and I have them posted on FanFiction.net under the pen name manaphyseaangel101. The movies in particular are Zoroark: Master of Illusions, and Giratina and the Sky Warrior. I`d like to write novelizations of other Pokémon movies, but I`d also like to get them published one day. Since it is copyrighted material, is it even possible to get a Pokémon movie novelization published?
I`ve heard about Pokémon movie manga novelizations and novelizations of famous movies like Star Wars or The Terminator doing quite well, so what do you think?

As far as I'm aware, you need expressed permission to publish any work already copyrighted. I'm pretty sure that usually when companies want movies or something novelized, they'll hire an author themselves.

While you certainly could publish them, it's probably a bad idea. Most novelizations are licensed by the copyright holders, and I highly doubt Nintendo would take kindly to anyone trying to use their content to make any sort of profit. In fact, I'm certain of it, judging from their actions towards fan content creators, especially on YouTube.

As said above, you would have to get permission from nintendo. If you didn't you would run into problems such as: The publishing company rejecting the story as its not original and belongs to other people; should it be published you receiving a demand for a share of profits from nintendo assuming they like it; or should it be published you receiving a summons to court as nintendo would have all rights to sue you for stealing their property more than likely resulting in it being discontinued and a few other punishments.

Yeah nintendo probably wont let it happen anyway. They are very protective of their games and other content, the only books that have ever received rights are to manga writers or big name companies for children's books
