Are you a boy or a girl?

I usually play as the male characters. I think their designs are a lot cooler. I agree with what you said, about the males seeming to be more cool and strong, and the girls more elegant. Works for a lot of people, but elegant is far from my thing, and I'd like to think of myself as a lot cooler and stronger than I am.

Point is, I usually play as the males.

 

I usually play as the male character, but from time to time, I choose the female one, because hey, who cares? xD

 

I usually will choose the guy, and then the 2nd game(of the gen, like D/P/Pl) I will choose the girl. Both have great designs imo and i don't care if I play as a girl on it.

 

I have always played as the girl. Not sure why, just did. Maybe because i am one or that I find it fitting that my rivals are usually boys then and its fun to beat boys as i grew up and live in a town where boys think they can beat me at anything. (they learn the hard way i suppose). I also think the boys' designs are too similar to one another whereas the girls look different every gen

 

I always pick girls because in my mind it make sense for me to play as the gender I am, instead of picking the opposite. Although sometimes I venture to wanting to play as a boy but then I quickly change my mind and go to the girl.
Except in Pokémon mystery dungeon explorer of the sky, I REALLY wanted riolu so I put I'm a guy

 

I've always played as a girl, I guess just because that's the gender I am. I do like how their designs switch up every generation though, unlike the guys whose more or less are the same. I guess I wouldn't mind playing as a guy once though, I just always end up picking girl.

Why are people saying that the male characters all have the same design? I see plenty of differences. The only thing that really seems that similar to me are the expressions....

I think that it just seems like that because there's not as much they can do with the different hairstyles like on the girls or something...

 

I like playing the girl mainly because I just like to play my own gender. I do think the hairstyles are a bit silly for them but I usually can't see myself playing as a guy. Often if I get a copy of the game or reset an old on, I'll pick a guy just because.

I don't really care who I play as tbh, there's no difference if you play as a girl or a boy.

 

Usually I play as a girl because when I get the Pokémon games I get one and my brother plays the other. I like playing as the girl because I am a girl anyway.

 

In Pokémon the gender of the character doesn't effect the storyline at all, but even then I usually go with the male character since, well, I'm a dude. When I first started playing Pokémon I would chose female characters a lot of the time for my own entertainment though. Man, me and my preteen years...

Just now that I read that, I realised that every single female character wears either short shorts, or a skirt.
Seriously, Dawn must have a great time in Snowpoint City... Not

 

I used to pick the male avatar all the time when I was younger. The males usually looked cooler than the female trainers. It never made sense that they would where skirts on a journey. But now I find my self picking the female avatar. For some reason it's gotten weird to be walking around as a male.
