No, if you like the games, your age doesn't matter, just play them.

No. Pokémon isn't related to age in any way. The games do get slightly easier when you're older but these games appeal to everyone and anyone. They are amazing and can bring all ages together through a shared interest. We're all children at heart, no matter how mature we are, that kid we used to be isn't dead, they're us - just bigger and more developed. Never told old to love and go crazy about Pokémon.

Who cares what age you are? It only tells you exactly how long you've been dwelling around on this planet now. It doesn't mean anything for what you should and should not like. If you enjoy playing Pokémon, then play it, whether you're 10 or 100 years old. (I want to meet a 100 year old person who has OR/AS)

I know I'm a bit young myself to be answering this, but in short, no, you're NEVER too old to have an interest.

However, I have other reasoning behind this. I'm at an age where people (this includes me) go through rapid change. I've noticed that my originally surfaced caring nature is now shared with my close friends exclusively, I've become more cold to people I dislike, and my innocence has faded along with my purity. However, no matter how much I've become less kid-like, I've always had Pokémon to turn back on. As much as I change, Pokémon is the last part of my childhood innocence that clings on with a firm grip; I still love Pokémon to this day and possibly more than ever due to it's current role in my life.

In a sense, you can become "too old" for Pokémon, as in outside the targeted or expected demographic audience.

But do we give a crap? Nope! :P

The problem is, is that most people today who don't play Pokémon say this: "That's a kiddy game".

And here's what I have to say: True, the market is aimed at a younger, more family friendly audience, but the game has something for everyone. As you get older, new strategies become apparent, you gain more knowledge of how the game works and you get to see some of the new Pokémon added, and experience anything new that's added (So those who dodged Gen V missed out on awesome things like the PWT)

So in short, my answer is no: You're never too old.
In long, the game is more than just a childhood memory. It's almost a work of art (or at least in the world of video games it is). Somebody may say "But nobody likes that!" Well, if nobody likes it, explain how it's the second best-selling video game franchise, right next to Mario. I personally have played since I was a kid, and I still love it. It always gets better.

I found this profound statement when browsing the web: You don't stop playing because you grow old: You grow old because you stop playing. Truer words have never been spoken before.

Yeah I wonder why people make fun of others for liking Pokémon but not Mario? In my opinion, Pokémon is much better and less silly/childish than Mario (no offense intended to Mario though) :P

Yep, the problem with Mario is that there's a lot of repetitiveness in there. Mario lacks enough fresh ideas. Admitadly, ones like Galaxy and 3D Land were great games that I enjoyed a lot, but for the most part, a lot of the games are just previous ones with a different cover.

Pokémon, however, has a bit more effort put into it: I know they do remakes, but generally those remakes come with some nice additions, like BW2 with the PWT and ORAS with the whole sneaking system, the Delta Episode and riding on Latios/Latias! Generally, Pokémon is often a more quality game, and often a remake is the signal that Game Freak have something in the works, but need to put out a game that will keep them going whilst they work on a new splendiforous adventure!

In fact, Pokémon has some darker elements sometimes; XY with the Pokémon war and then AZ's plan to destroy everything that existed, not to mention this get's repeated by Lysandre; Places like Lavender Tower and Mt. Pyre showing us that Pokémon can die; Diamond, Pearl and PLatinum sees Cyrus try to completely redo the world with no emotion. Mario is a lot of happiness and cheer (aside from Paper Mario, which I here is quite dark). Point is, Pokémon is actually deeper, and less childish than at first thought.

I see myself as the guy who plays Pokémon with his kids, so I definitely do not think anyone can be too old to play Pokémon. Yes the game is made for a younger demographic, but does it really matter how old you are to play something? I feel as though people that say you are too old to play something are either lacking in understanding the game in question, and in my opinion rather close minded. Who cares how old you are, as long as it isn't you no one else's opinion on the subject matters.

One is simply never too old for Pokémon. I saw some middle-aged dude buy Omega Ruby as the same time as me. If somebody likes something, then they should stick with it.

Never! Anyone can get into the metagame, and just have fun with it in general. The game can be played from now and onwards due to the mere fact that it's userfriendly!
I love Pokémon, and wouldn't give it up for the world.

Never too old. It's sad, but I know more little kids who plays games like CoD than real, great games like Pokémon, Mario, or TLoZ.

Never! You can be 4 and love it, and be 40 or 80 and still enjoy the franchise. I've been playing for almost 17 years and I still love Pokémon a lot, and I probably always will!
