Not the member for those prepared to joke about that lol. On August 21st there will be a Solar Eclipse visible to those living in the US and surrounding countries. It will be one of the most visible Solar Eclipses the US will ever see as the path of totality will span all across the country (meaning that those in that area will see nothing but the rim of the sun around the moon covering it. Outside the path of totality, others will see a partial eclipse, but it is certainly still something to witness! Here are some pictures explaining the path in more detail Spoiler So what do you think about it? Are you going to see the Solar Eclipse? If you don't live in the area where it's going to happen, are you still excited to see all of the updates about it online with social media? If you plan on seeing it in person be sure to protect your eyes!
I live in Australia, so yeah not planning on seeing it I've seen solar eclipses before though, they're pretty cool. It definitely feels weird to have the sky so dark during the daytime.
Aaaaaaaaaaa, I actually am going to see it! I live right near where the path is, so I only have to go about 30 minutes to get there! The best part is that I don't have to go to school that day, so I can have all day to be ready for it! I hope that some of you guys have the chance to see this soon!
Damn, you preempted me. Knowing me, I would probably see if I could find an online stream of it or something. I don't believe I'm anywhere near its path, and even if I were, I probably wouldn't be looking to see it myself, due to me not having special eyes. Or I might forget altogether. Either possibility is equally likely. Regardless of outcome, I honestly won't be that bothered if I miss it, because, despite my name, I don't care very much about this at all. (This is probably because I'm named for a dragon, not a celestial phenomenon.)
I haven't made any specific plans to see it, but I probably will since it looks like I'm fairly close to its path. I've heard that all of the hotels and other places to stay around here have been booked out for months from people planning to visit to see it and the traffic is expected to basically be the nightmare to end all nightmares. I'm probably just going to stay home and try to see it from here. Trying to go out then sounds like it will be a bad idea.
I'll be outside during it (because band camp and stuff)! I live about two hours from the path, but from where I live I'll be in a partial eclipse of around 93%. Even then it should still be exciting to see!
Aww man, just a day earlier and I would be able to see the total eclipse since I'll be going to a con in the path of it. I'm still pretty close to it though, so it will be pretty much a total eclipse for me.
I don't think I'm even close to the path of the solar eclipse! It's a shame, but I hope everyone who's going enjoys watching it!
OMG there's one coming up? I always miss those things so I would love to go to them on day! I'm going to see if my family wants to do this with me since I love this stuff.
That sounds positively nightmarish, like what might happen when a convention is in town. Then again, I have heard people hyping this total solar eclipse event for well over a year now (and probably more beyond that for anyone who's an astronomy geek). You have my condolences. ayy
