    Very purposefully misleading title much?

An interesting trait I find I have is that, while drawing, well, female characters, I often find myself victim of what you might call a "Sexy Filter". Something born from my aversion to the ridiculous beauty norm imposed on women and depressingly constant stereotypes found in media. So, the "Sexy Filter" stops me dead in my tracks when I'm about to draw something that it deems "Too sexy". Sadly, that results in a lot of the female characters I draw have a boring and uninteresting tree trunk of a body. But I would rather have that than those absurd bulging water balloons that can often be found in popular media (More specifically, cartoons and video games.), coupled with the always-'perfect' shape of body (As if being anything stockier than a skin-covered skeleton was bad). Recently, I've been able to counter it to an extent, and have been able to draw girls with reasonably biologically accurate proportions. Huzzah.

What about you? Do you find yourself the slave of a filter or other that mentally checks you from drawing certain things? Does it frustrate you, or do you live by it? Where did it come from? Questions!

The art content filter doesn't bother me much since I usually don't post anything I draw only, however it's a different case when I'm designing a signature. I'm afraid of using renders that may be deemed too sexy or depressing since I don't want people to think I'm strange. The filter is there to keep people safe and I'm glad they do it. After all, I don't want to see things that are NSFW. However, it does restrict some creative qualities if you're drawing something by the filter.
