Art styles you wish you had?

I don't wish to copy someone else's style entirely... What happens is that I see someone's work I like, and find myself picking up tips from them to make myself better, without my style looking exactly like theirs. c:

 

As imperfect as mine is, I would still keep it. People may forget everything else I do in life but they'll never forget my artistic style if it earns even a little recognition.

 

The whole point of having a style is making it your own. Copying someone else might help you improve, but only so much. Experimenting in many different ways is what helps you fully understand and build your own skills and style.

 

I've always really liked Kurrutra's take on Pokémon. Kurrutra is a person on DeviantArt who draws Pokémon a lot, and he draws them each with their own style. He usually draws them with more muscle structure and detail, which I think looks pretty cool.

While I haven't tried to rip his style off, I HAVE drawn a tribute picture that tried to replicate his style.

 

If there was anyone I wish I could draw like it is probably Kilala04 on deviantart. I like her art style cause it is not overly chibi and can still look pretty damn cool.

 

I don't have a specific artist that I wish I could be, because I prefer mixing styles that I see from time to time.
Most of the time, it's hard to figure out how they do it, but part of the way, you pick up new techniques that you can call your own.

In all seriousness, I've seen plenty of artwork that I've admired and wish mine was more like theirs, but at the end of the day, I'd really prefer a style all my own. And who knows what that is yet? Guess I gotta keep practicing.
