Ever heard of this article? Well, here's a place to learn about it. Article 13 is an EU copyright law that constricts copyright material and how it can be used. This not only constricts art, but music, games, and even memes. I'm no good at explaining it, so I'll let the people who actually know of it speak up here. Just know that, according to people who aren't me, this could change the entirety of the internet as we know it.
As I State About It Passing On My Latest State Update, This Can Influence Big On Our Euporean Members! This Is Unlike Net Neutrality But It Can Influence The Whole Internet. YouTube and other platforms may have no choice but to block your existing videos and prevent you from uploading new ones in the European Union unless you can prove you own everything in your videos (including visuals and sounds). What does this mean for me as a YouTube creator or an artist NOT in the European Union? This whole thing is a load of dung heap. Whatever cabron thought it was a good idea to basically desltry creativity in social media should be kicked by a horse. The internet is already a toxic place aside from a few gems like LV. Art, music, and all that other stuff is what helps the internet feel decent. But now, this is just getting out of hand. I’ll be praying for my European friends here!
Yea, First Net Neutrality And Now This-This Is Getting Bad For All Of Us. And Same As You, I Am Praying For All Of Our Euporean Members Here!
If anyone is struggling to understand article 13 and how it may affect the whole globe, not just the EU (and UK) matpat made a good informative video about it: It's really scary tbh.
It's the police, you used the loss meme, under current copyright laws, the sentence is death But really, such a thing would never work, it would mean even companies have to tip toe. They should concentrate on making laws to punish people who are actually doing harm.
Thank For The Extra Resource-That Is Also What I Want To Add It After Watching It For Few Times Just Now!
Well, this article is interesting. But the Most interesting thing for me is, why did they make this article? Well, let's hope for the best,I guess.
Hm, well I have a youtube channel. Normally I'd never upload something outside animation, covers and the occasional storytelling vid but this is important I think I may just do some more research on this and maybe upload my own vid about it. If anyone has any other resources let me know I'd love to check them out! Using youtube to help people! Now that's what I'm talking about! *Goes off to research all the while mumbling about this whole thing being really dumb and wondering what made people even think of this article*
Thank For Spreading The Word-Make Sure You Put #SaveYourInternet On Your Youtube Title As Youtube Are Supporting To Prevent Article 13 To Be Pass And Some Resource Are Found On My First Post And You Want To Watch The Youtube Video Shared By @AreoHail About The Article 13 In Much Simpler Way By The Famous Film Theory/Matpat.
Actually I'm watching the video now. I'm subscribed I've meaning to check out the video but this gave me a real reason too.
That's Good To Hear That You Are Watching. I Will Helping To Spread The Word By Upload A Artwork About The Word In Deviantart And Instagram.
I also did a quick stop on Wattpad since that's the only other thing I use that remotely counts as social media and told my followers a bit about it, gave them a link to mattpat's video and told them to spread the word with Hashtag SaveYourInternet. I hope we can do something.
Thank For That As Well- I Completely Forget About Wattpad Until You Told About Me Because I Have A Wattpad Account And A Wattpad Book Of Cassini-Huygens Mission Fanfiction! I Am Going To Spread The Word There Too With Another Fanfiction But A Crossover, Short One Thank For Remind Me About Wattpad! Edit- I Also Search For The Hashtag On Wattpad And We Are Not Alone! Others Are Spreading The Word Too!
Do you mind if I quote some of the things you've said on this in my video? Up to you but since I'm using LV as an example I thought it might help. Edit: Also through wattpad I found a petition on this for anyone who wants to sign: https://www.change.org/p/stoppt-die-zensurmaschine-rettet-das-internet-uploadfilter
After several hours of extensive thought, as well as watching videos, I may have an idea as to how this could ruin the internet if it is passed. Currently, thousands of people make a living online, whether it be from YouTube, Google Store, Play Store, etc. If this copyright law is passed, companies who fund these people and give them their livings could be attacked by bigger companies, which is against the U.S. Safe Harbor Act, which punishes the user, not the company. If these big companies begin to attack what once spread their influence, who stands in the way to stop them? Soon, most major social media sites like Wattpad, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and likely Snapchat, could be taken down without any trouble to big companies themselves. But then come the repercussions of these major actions: thousands would lose their lives, and many everything they know; influence would be held by the big companies, and they're already rather selfish with their money; and economies would collapse because of how many people could lose their jobs. And this touches the whole world. If it has been copyrighted, then it won't get past EU Article 13. Your fanfictions would be taken away from the EU, your art would, too. Unless it was 100% original, never would it be seen in, or out if you're in there, of the EU. Whether this be true or not, I don't know. This is a purely hypothetical thought in hopes that the EU truly doesn't draft Article 13. Sorry this so long, and have a merry day.
That's Why We Need To Take Action About It And Youtube Have Took The Action With #SaveYourInternet Campaign. I Also Write A Short Book On Wattpad To Spread The Word: https://www.wattpad.com/story/168564268
Hypothetical, yes. Logical. Yes. This could easily become reality so let's hope with enough support we can stop it from doing so.
