Eevee is cured of poisoning, and Chico (77) misses with his cutting slash, as the Magtus jumps up and out of the way. It fires String Shot at Chico (11), but fortunately Chico manages to dodge that. The Magtus appears to be getting very pumped up, apparently having found a possible rival in Chico
(I think the values should be higher or lower depending on how often the move can hit, such as a move like Aerial Ace may have a high percentage of hitting, while moves like Sheer Cold would have a lower percentage of hitting, though these are starter Pokémon so I guess that’s ok) “Aquamarine, use pound.” Farrah said, trying to weaken it as much as possible, but not killing it.
(That's actually a really good point. I'll try to incorporate that as best I can in the future) Salamini runs forward and (96) slaps the Bronzeag hard with its tail. The bird Pokémon is slammed to the ground, still awake but too weak to try any fancy tricks at this point. It settles for a Leer (80, though I'm not even sure if I needed to run a number on that move), lowering Salamini's defense
Farrah grabbed a Pokéball and threw it at the direction of the Bronzeag. She really liked bird Pokémon for some reason.
The ball hits its mark. It wiggles once... Twice... Three times... Ding! Capture confirmed! Bronzeag's moves: Peck, Tackle, Leer
“I’ll name her...Eris.” Farrah said. The Bronzeag was quite damaged from the battle, so she let her rest in her Pokéball. She wondered how Aurora would act around this new flying-type. She never liked being with other Pokémon, Ignis excluded.
"Use cut again Chico! Focus on your target." I believe in Chico's ability but I see Magtus' determination and I feel my heart racing a little.
(64) Chico slices at the Magtus with its claws, knocking it backwards. The little Bug Pokémon fires a Poison Sting attack (13), but Chico manages to dodge. The Magtus is getting angry
The Magtus is sucked into the ball. It wiggles once, twice... Pop! The Magtus jumps out of the ball, evidently not tired enough to be captured. It fires another Poison Sting at Chico (30), which nails him for a critical hit. Chico isn't poisoned fortunately, but he is getting angry. This could be a true rivalry here
Chico had managed to learn Vine Whip. From his tail bulb, a vine sprouts and he lashes it forward at the Magtus (64), hitting the Magtus across the face. The little Bug Pokémon is starting to get worn out. It fires another Poison Sting (35), which Chico manages to block with his new vine abilities
"Very good Chico! We caught him!" Chico doesn't look very happy with me right now..... Anyway I pick up the Pokéball and put it away. Then I join the others.
"Wow! You caught a Magtus!" George exclaims excitedly. "And congrats on catching that Bronzeag!" He says to Farrah. "The next town should be right near here. We should make it there by nightfall, then you guys can test out those new Pokémon in the Gym tomorrow if you want!"
(Anyone else wanna catch/battle any Pokémon, or would you rather we just skip ahead to the next town?)
