You arrive in the town of Sinco City. There are decorations hung everywhere for some sort of festival, but nobody seems to be celebrating anything. In fact, everyone seems to be physically ill for some reason. You notice a teenaged girl in a fancy, flowing dress assisting Nurse Joy with some sort of medical triage center set up outside the Pokémon Center. "I appreciate your help, Joyce," Nurse Joy says to her, "but really. You should be doing your duties rather than helping me." "But isn't helping the town one of my duties as Gym Leader?" Joyce replies
“What in tarnation is happening here?” Bronze said. Bigjaw was thinking the same thing as he looked around to see the ill. Night Wing didn’t really care for them though. He was just kinda in his own little world as he followed Bronze around. And Chile was worried about all the townsfolk who weren’t looking too hot/
One of the sick citizens turns to Bronze, clearly in pain. "Montecoatl's Revenge..." He groans. "It's the Grimer." The Gym Leader, Joyce, says. "A group of miners are working in the caverns, and apparently their work has driven all the Grimer that live there out into our water supply. They're polluting it and making everyone sick. The townsfolk are saying Montecoatl is responsible for the sickness, punishing the town for allowing miners to drill in the sacred caverns. I tried to go kick the miners out, but my Pokémon weren't strong enough. I only recently became the Gym Leader, so I'm not very good yet. I just don't know what to do!" Nurse Joy speaks up. "Perhaps the easier option would be to battle the Grimer rather than the miners, though I'm sure defeating either of those two forces would solve the problem."
"Well, we need to solve both problems somehow." Nurse Joy says. "Perhaps we could send a few people to battle the miners and a few to force the Grimer out of the water supply." "I'll go to the caverns!" George responds. "Those miners won't know what hit 'em!"
“Don’t worry. We got your back, amiga.” Bronze said with a warm smile as he lit his hand on his friend’s shoulder.
“If we were to battle the Grimer, we must only use special attacks, as its ability may cause the opponent to be poisoned when in physical contact.” Farrah suggested.
"That's true." Nurse Joy says. "And you also may want to be careful of the stench. Very few Pokémon and people can stand being near an Aztexoan Grimer, let alone a whole group of them." "Ah, don't worry. These two can handle it." George says, pointing at Bronze and Farrah. "And we'll take the caverns!" He says to Angela. "Come on!"
