I'm pretty sure that we all had those times where a store or a restaurant messed up our orders at some point and I'll also share one as well

We went to a restaurant drive-through to order a couple of milkshakes and one of us wanted a diet coke. When we got our order we ended up with two runny milkshakes and a cherry coke. We asked them to fix the cherry coke. Once we got the coke back, we left and my mother, who was supposed to get the diet coke noticed that it tasted off and handed it to me for a double check on the drink. To me, it tasted like the person mixed coke with diet coke, therefore my mother couldn't drink it since coke is too sugary for her. Now that I just got through eating the runny milkshake, I noticed that there was a pile of cookie at the bottom and some black stuff with it, I tasted it the black stuff and it tastes like vanilla? I believe that it is supposed to be mixed with the rest of the milkshake but I'm not a milkshake expert...

    So what are your stories?

I could take a whole day relegating the myriad tales of bad customer service, but I doubt anyone wants to read a wall of text.

Every experience I have had with Toshiba (not that I've ever been unlucky to use their products, but that I've had to help others who made the mistaken purchase) has been full of misunderstandings due to shoddy training, escalated calls to management, repeatedly-returned products because the issues were not fixed, and utter frustration by the poor souls who had purchased said products. Some people boycott companies for political reasons, others by executive-level mistakes, and still others by personal preference and nothing more. Me, I only boycott those that show repeated failures on multiple levels, such as Kentucky Fried Chicken - Toshiba is one of those companies that has shown itself woefully incompetent. :furious:

I don't go to stores often enough to have horrible stories. The only two that come to my mind were just minor conveniences. The first one was the last time I went bowling. For some reason, the first pair of bowling shoes they gave me was two right feet. Of course, I returned these shoes and told them their mistake, and the worker just set both of the shoes aside and grabbed a new pair...I'm kinda wondering what they'll do with the two right feet shoes. Find them their missing left feet? Forget that they're not a pair and leave them together? I don't know.

The other story works in my favor I think. I ordered some manga online, and of course they give me an expected arrival date for the shipping. The arrival date was a range of two weeks, but two weeks after the final expected arrival date, the manga still hadn't come. I had to contact the people, and they just sent me another copy of the manga, free of charge. I received the new manga within the expected time, and a few days later the original copy showed up as well. I had asked the people if they wanted me to send one of the copies back, and they just told me too keep it, so now I have two copies of the same manga.

So, yeah, I know these aren't horribly awful experiences, but they're kinda funny.

I remember going to McDonald's with my mom, and we ordered some food. There were only 2-3 people waiting in line, so I expected the food to come quickly. My mom waited in line, while I went to take a seat(there were two floors, so I couldn't see what was happening). So I waited for about 15-20 minutes before my food finally came. My mom explained to me that she asked the person serving the food if they could set it up quicker, and that person on purposely worked slower and served the person behind her first before serving us just because my mom "complained". Thankfully, we never saw that person again.

I work in retail and I can honestly say that poor customer service usually roots from the customers just having bad attitudes for me. I just get a lot of customers trying to complain for free stuff a lot.

I work on the phones for customer service. We're supposed to be an outside location, so we're not DIRECTLY with the company, but I can tell you that some of the people in the company are just idiots and I've been told things by them that completely contradict what others have said. Not going into much more detail than that, but yeah.

There are too many to list, so I’ll just list the notable experiences from last year.

During my road trip last Summer, my Mother and I stopped at a rural Washington café. We had heard it was a great stop and that their sweet tea was fantastic. I walked up, ordered a 12 oz. green tea and asked for my change back. The barista, a girl around my age, gave me a glare and scattered the coins around my hand. To hide my anger, I pretended it was my fault and apologized. She said nothing and continued her fixed glare. The tea tasted like plastic.

My mother and I were ordering our usual order at Starbucks (we have a basic side too) and noticed that the barista was being unusually perky. I could tell she didn’t seem genuine, but my Mom seemed flattered. She gave the barista a generous tip and waited for our order. “What was that about,” a coworker asked loudly. The barista said, “I pretended to like them so they would give me a better tip.” I’m aware most people in customer service act friendlier than normal for that reason, but the degree this barista went to was just manipulative. I told my mother later and we both vowed to never go to that Starbucks again.

Back in July, I was browsing the Nintendo Switch aisle at my local Best Buy. As expected, an employee walked up and asked the timeless phrase, “are you looking for anything in particular?” I said I was just browsing and he left. No issue there.

About three minutes later, a different employee asked me the same question. I gave the same response as last time since I was actually doing that.

Another several minutes pass and I am just about ready to check out. The original employee returns and asks the exact same question, this time with a large smirk on his face. Mildly annoyed, I said no.

I understand they are required to ask this question, but doing it multiple times can be really irritating.

A few weeks after the previous story, I went to the same Best Buy to find a Wi-Fi extender. Not knowing anything about this subject, I approached an employee in the computer section and asked for assistance. He told me he couldn’t help me and that he’d send a specialist within a few minutes. I told him thank you and he said something under his breath. After an agonizing fifteen minutes, a different employee asked me if I needed anything. I asked if he was the guy the other employee said would help me. “Nope,” he snickered. I then got assistance right away.
