I'd might as well pitch myself on here in case anybody here would like to battle on Showdown. I'm currently getting into the Gen 7 meta and play on Pokebank OU. My username is FidchellPoke. Ooh, it sounds like you want to get quite involved. If you are new to competitive battling on Smogon, I'll be glad to give you a hand! I'm not sure where you live, but I'm currently in US in Mountain Time region. I'll be free to battle tomorrow 8 am to 11 am if you're up for it. If school gets in the way, we can just focus on helping you better understand competitive for now and perhaps battle on the weekend? About battling people on Showdown, there's really no specific thing, as people use all sorts of team archetypes and Pokémon. You'll never know what you're going to get and it's quite exciting. I mostly use a balanced team with all different types and physical/special attack coverage (mono teams make me feel ill). What is it that you wish to know about competitive for now? If you got a team ready, I can look through it for you, though I'm mostly an OU player for now (have to learn the new gen).
I live on the east coast of the US (so Eastern standard time?), so that would put the time at... uhh... 10 to 1. So school will once again prevail over everything. Buuut i still have to learn, and that's that. I've been more interested in competitives lately, even though I only have SHOWDOWN, but judging my team would be cool. Here's the link. I can't see your team. I recommend copying and pasting it into pastebin and giving me a link. You can choose the import/export option in your team to convert it to text. Also, are you familiar with the tiers of smogon?

Oh shoot I just realized the articles are old (they're gen 6). But in the Pokémon link within each tier it takes you to a Smogondex. If you look towards the top within the dex site, there's an "SM" which is for Sun and Moon (gen 7). You can peruse that if you want to know what Pokémon fall under that tier. Pokémon in tiers above the one you look up cannot be used in said tier.

Okay I'm noticing a few things right off the bat. Have you invested EVs for your Pokémon? Having multiple Z-crystals is probably not the best option considering you can only use one z-move per battle, making the other two item-less for the remainder of the battle. Unfortunately, Mega Lucario is Uber tier, so if we're to battle OU, you'll either have to take off the mega stone or just swap lucario entirely.

As much as I want to point out a lot of things, I would rather not make you take up the most standard smogon sets available. I would like you have to fun with your teams and use whatever you think works. That being said, there are a few things that I absolutely must recommend: Zoroark would work a lot better with either a life orb or focus sash. Orb because it will increase its power x1.2 though you will lose some health with each attack you use. Sash because Zoro is quite frail and prone to get OHKOd. Generally you'll want to max out EVs in a stat that the Pokémon excels at. Zoro, for example, should have full EVs in Special attack to maximize its capabilities in sheer power. Quick claw on Lycanroc is quite ballsy. There's a low chance you will go first and it just makes you more dependent on RNG, which you want to avoid as much as you can, unless that's just the type of player you are. Your Exeggutor has no EVs! Your team is quite weak to the fairy type. Otherwise, you've got an interesting team here. If you feel you're ready, go ahead and try to fight some people online. This is probably the best way to determine your team's weaknesses and how you can improve it.
NO! I hate RNG! (To be honest I had no idea Quick Claw was like that ). And the Exeggutor thing was odd, since I thought that I went over all of that stuff... I was going to try and balance the EVs as best as I could, but it makes sense for my guys to specialize in their higher stats. Heh heh, I actually had a Focus Sash on Zoroark at one point, but I don't know why I changed it... and defenses for Fairies have been set up! I haven't tried it yet, but I found a search bar thing when I clicked the online users button, basically typed in your SHOWDOWN username, and up comes a small little profile thing! It has a button that says 'challenge', so I guess that means that you can battle specifics... but then again I haven't tried it, so I don't know if it even works XD
It should work while they are online I believe, and then they should get a notification that you are issuing a challenge. In that same window they would pick their team and then accept your challenge. If you want to battle someone random, all you have to do it select your team (validate it for its tier first with the validate button within the teambuilder) and then click Battle! Let me know how it goes~
I've already done the validate (I've been paranoid with that part!), and I've yet to do some battles... but not tonight, since I feel too tired to really do anything. Tomorrow, though, I'll do some battles! And see how it goes...

I've heard about Discord, but I dont really know what it's about (although now I know it's about competitive battling from what you said). But I'll give it a look-see, and I'll let you know when I get my account set up!
