BE YOUR OWN GYM LEADER

I'm really excited about this. It's one of the best additions to OR/AS that I did not see coming, yet I'm so glad it's here. I'm definitely going to spend a lot of time into my gym, both the team I'll be using and the layout of my own gym. Because nothing makes a gym better than an epic environment. I can't wait.

On another note, it might even help me get somewhat more into the competitive side of Pokémon. I mean, a gym with little to no strategy put into it will get beaten time after time. If that happens, I'll know I have to change something to prevent it from happening again. Meanwhile I can go challenge other gyms, which will require my skills from the opposite perspective.

It's a great concept that mixes social interactivity with competitive playing in a fun way. And since I'm bad at both of those things, I'm really excited for it!

 

I'm pretty sure that you won't get to create your own gym badges. However, there will definitely be some sort of counter on how many gyms you've beaten. Maybe you can receive unlockable extra furniture after you've reached a certain amount of victories? That'd be great!

 

I'm still a bit skeptical to this "gym" bit, because it may just mean that the selection of decorations may have been more diversified to allow players to make gym puzzles of sorts. Pretty interesting how much they'll expand on this though. Remove the decor limit for secret bases plox!!!1!

 

I'm not sure where it actually says you can create a gym, I've never seen an official source say so, more then that you can make a QR of your secret base, as far as badges, I'm pretty sure flags will be the "counting" device, I'd guess you stand next to or in front of the flag, and people have to beat your tam to capture it.

 

I'm interested to see if you can do things like choose the parties of the gym trainers and the sorts of traps you can build in the gym. I bet that someone will try to replicate Lt. Surge's gym or Sabrina's gym. I doubt that you can make your own gym badges though, because they would probably be difficult to keep track of.

Now to think of what my team would be, because I generally design my teams around double battles.

 

I'm so excited for making my own gym. Mine's going to be a Variety gym since I really can't stick to one type. xD

As for the badges, we'll have to wait and see. I don't think they'll allow draw your own since some people are probably going to find a way to make look inappropriate. -_- They'll probably have templates and shapes you can piece together. Or they may not have badges.

Either way, it should be interesting.

I really hope the custom gyms will tie into the PSS! I can't decide if I will be a Normal or Bug gym, but I really hope gym battles and wins will be recorded, or that they can be tied into PSS records!

 

Its a pretty great idea giving you the option to make your secret base into a game. It gives you something to do after you beat the game you know when you battle friends and keep the place looking fancy. Which will give you time to explore other secret bases challenge other people which will be amazing and get to do abit more interacting in the game and having a better experience in the game and growing to love it even more in my opinon.

 

If they still have this, color me shocked. That would be just awful. I have very bad memories of this. (At least less of a limit would be nice, Stunfisk carpets EVERYWHERE.)

I'm really not sure how this will work but hopefully it's more than just decor. I'd love to be able to set up specific challenges for those who invade my secret base!

 

I think this is a huge improvement for the 3DS Pokémon games.
