Ben and Del's XY Egglocke Challenge

    I've seen some people do Egglockes similar to this in previous generations, so I figured I would try one out in X and Y! Ben decided to try one along with me as well, so we're partnering up to give each other Eggs so we don't know what we'll get to use in this 'locke.

    Basically what we did to start is choose 40 Pokémon to breed on our X games, then we got eggs from all of those Pokémon. We then restarted our Y versions, caught 40 wild Pokémon on the first route, and traded the eggs from X to Y (ie: Del traded eggs to Ben, and vice versa). It's a bit of a difficult-to-start challenge, but we thought it would be fun to do.

    Egglocke Rules:
    • Only catch the first Pokémon you encounter in each route.
    • Once you catch/are given a Pokémon (even your starter), swap it out for an Egg in your box. The Pokémon hatched from that Egg is your new Pokémon.
    • You must nickname all hatched Pokémon.
    • Defeated Pokémon are considered dead and must be perma-boxed.
    • Trade evolutions are allowed.
    • You can use the EXP Share to level up recently hatched Eggs, and you can choose to leave it on or off when you aren't training up newly hatched Pokémon.
    Optional Rules:
    • If you find a shiny Pokémon, you can use it no matter what it is despite the rules, until it dies. Or just perma-box it.
    • Hard Mode: do NOT use the EXP Share, leave it off at all times.
    I'm waiting to trade eggs with Ben right now, but after we start, we'll update this thread with what we get! This should be a fun challenge!

    Obviously we started, and I got all of my eggs! My character is Alice. I'm going for the same look as my previous trainer as I liked how she looked. But yeah, currently in Lumiose. I've beaten the first gym and caught as many Pokémon as possible.

    Caught so far: Fennekin, Fletchling, Bidoof, Bulbasaur, Weedle, Gastly, (Counted Gastly as Route 2) Minun and Ledyba. All of these have been perma boxed and replaced with eggs Del gave me.

    Gotten so far: Zorua, Deerling, Meditite, Vulluby, Sewaddle, Espurr, Snorunt, and Pumpkaboo.

    Deaths so far: Pumpkaboo

    I started this Egglocke too, and it's been pretty fun! It's going to be a challenge though, since Ben accidentally left an Everstone on his Modest Ditto, so all of my Pokémon are Modest-natured, haha.

    This will be a somewhat quick update, since not too much has happened, but I did catch quite a few Pokémon up through Route 5- Fennekin, Pidgey, Fletchling, 2 Azurills, Ledyba, Charmander, and Pancham. I swapped them out for eggs, and got Meditite, Hawlucha, Charmander, Electrike, Honedge, Inkay, Cottonee, and Yamask. Nobody has died yet, and I'm currently at Route 7 on my way to Parfum Palace, so hopefully things continue to go well!

    Hey guys, here is a new update! It's been a little while, but I don't really feel like updating as much as I know a lot of people don't really care too much AND it does take a lot of time. So from now on, updates will be a lot less frequent, but hopefully a lot longer. Since last time, I made it to Ambrette town, and caught myself a lot of new Pokémon along the way, some of which will be used in my team below.

    I've been pretty lucky, though sadly Sewaddle fell to a trainer, which made me pretty sad. I think she had a lot of potential, so that's really the worst part. Currently I'm in the second gym city, and I'm just before battling Grant. I've been trying my best to evolve my Zorua, since it's pretty close, but it's a pain. I really hope I can evolve it soon. Deerling and Zorua are by far my favorites, so if they die it's certainly going to put me off playing for a while.
