Best Memories From Older Gens

Either finding Raquayza in emerald after spending hours trying to figure out where it was, I was fairly new to gaming and was clueless but considering how long it took me Sootopolis should have been in ruins lol. That or beating the elite four in Soul Silver, I realize it is a newer gen but it was the second time i had ever beaten them and it took me several tries. I won thanks to my ampharos with its static ability after being hit down to 4 hp then getting to hit Lance's final dragonite one more time for the kill with a crit. Ampharos is now my favorite electric type and I always raise one whenever given the chance

 

The best moment for me was when in Pokémon Yellow, whenever you would talk to Pikachu when it's happiness was full, it would act really cute. It was super adorbs.

 

My favorite moment was in Pokémon Crystal when I climbed Mt. Silver and faced Red. That battle was agonizingly difficult for my horrible team, but I managed to defeat him.

 

My favorite memories is just playing from the beginning to the end. That sentamental moment you get when you get your first starter then going to catch other Pokémon to build a team, battle all 8 gym leaders, fight the elite 4 and the champion and winning. And as you look in the hall of fame and see your Pokémon, you have the look and feelng like 'we did it you guys, we won and we won together'

 

My favorite moments are all on my platinum game. It was the first Pokémon game I really got into, despite having played all the gens before it. It was the first game that I beat the elite four on, and I remember watching those credits roll with tears of joy in my eyes. I had done it, I had beaten the game. With my team, my Pokémon, my friends.
It was the first game I got the Nat Dex on. I worked hard to go around and find all the Pokémon and battle every trainer. When I found the last one, a Rotom, I was so happy. I still have the sparky little electric guy, and his name is FINALLY!!!!!! (I was horrible at naming things)

It was the first game I ever saw a shiny on. In fact I saw two. My first one was in the safari zone, it was a Tanglea. I did not understand it was a shiny till many months later, but I still tried to catch it. And I almost did, but then it popped out of the ball and ran. But, I was not sad. No, instead I went back every day to see if it would come back (it never did).

My second shiny I caught, and I still have him. He has quite a story behind him. It started on the school bus, on the way to school. I had my DS with me, something I was not supposed to have. I had a friend sitting next to me, as I was trainer some Pokémon In victory road. My DS light was red. I encountered a Graveler, which was not uncommon. I was prepared to run, but my friend stopped me. I looked down, and saw the guy was a different color. I worked really hard to catch him, finally doing so as my bus pulled into the school parking. I named him SHINY!!!! And then saved. Right away. And then my DS died on me, as soon as the save finished. I was buzzing the rest of the day, I had caught a shiny. When I got home, I charged my DS and turned it on to see my catch. He knew the move explosion, but he had never used it. Even today when I hear the storied about a shiny exploding on somebody I look at him, and smile. He is now happy as a Golem.

My platinum was also the first game I got a level 100 on. It was my Staraptor baby, Storn. I had caught her at route two, and I had planned to name her Storm(might have been Store) and then box her, like I did in all my other games. But she ended up getting named Storn... And then she never left. Ever. She went from the first route, from level two, all the way through the game. Braving harsh cold, and muddy swamps, she was there, by my side. We climbed the victory road together, we beat the elite four together. We got the neat Dex together. She was the caretaker of all the Pokémon I owned, and made sure to level them. (I had like, 8~9 EXP shares). She slowly climbed in levels herself. 60. 70. 80. 90. 95.... Then 99. Then one summer day, while training in the route outside of the Villa, she did it. No, we did it. 100. My first. It took forever, but it was so worth it. My Staraptor baby, always and forever. No other Starly or Staraptor will ever be like her, no other one will ever be better. Not even a shiny. I still need to get a Staraptor plush, so I can always have my Storn baby.

Yes. Out of all my games, my platinum is my most memorable. Although my randomized leaf green Rom is also memorable, nothing will ever compare to the sheer amount of memories and hours I logged into my platinum game. Even though I have taken all the Pokémon off it, and migrated them up, I still hesitate to restart it, because I know that no other run will compare to this one, and that I feel that if I restart it then I will be wiping all those memories, all those hours off the game.

 

I guess I'll have to go with the moment I beat Cynthia in Diamond... After about 10 tries I finally beat her in a battle that lasted about 15 minutes, I was so happy when it was finally over.

 

Going through the safari zone to find that pesky surf TM and the golden teeth were a pain, but as a kid I found it a fun little challenge. One of my proudest moments as a kid was beating the Elite four in Gold version - I could never do it by myself and had to have my siblings help me back in Red/Blue version so when I finally beat them I was so darn proud! It took me so many tries though. haha.

 

I remember being extremely proud of myself when I first beat the Elite 4 in LeafGreen. FR/LG had always been hard for me to beat when I was a kid, so when I first became the champion I was so happy.

I also remember being excited when I got my first Pokémon to level 100 in Pearl. Granted it was the Rayquaza I transferred from Emerald, but it took me forever to do so and he rarely left the team. I still have him. xD

 

I think my favorite one is when I first started Surfing east from my home in Heart Gold to reach the Elite Four.
That and the hike to the Pokémon League that followed always stick out whenever I think of that game.

 

I think my best memory from the older gens was back in Kanto with Leafgreen. I remember spending so much time in the safari zone just wasting my money and throwing bait at whatever I could find. I had no idea of what all was in the safari, but I remember when I saw a chansey, my immediate response was "I HAVE TO CATCH THAT." With one ball thrown, it fled. I spent another half hour searching and finally found another one, but it fled after I threw a rock. I probably had a repeat of failed catches with about 20 different chanseys, but I remember there was a spot right by a Tip sign that I found the Chansey that I would eventually catch. It threw a safari ball on my first turn and caught it effortlessly. I was so happy that I FINALLY caught the blasted egg holder! I spent so much time grinding that chansey that whenever I play leaf green on an emulator, I always get these flashbacks of all the places where I spammed the VS seeker to train chansey.

 

My first Pokémon game was Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time. I got a Treecko and my partne was Torhic. The whole game was abslutely beautiful... The plot was so powerful. But what impacted me most of all was the ending. I'm a sucker for sad and emotional stuff and couldn't stop crying. It was like I had REALLY disappeared and left my poor friend Torchic all alone. I was so, so happy when I appeared again! I'll never forgot how amazing I felt...

Sadly my little brother reset the game... I was far into the aftergame and both my characters were level 200. I've tried starting the game all over again but it just isn't the same.

 

I have a lot of really good memories from every gen.

In RBY, I remember having lots of fun with my friends trying out the Missingno glitch and becoming gods at school.

I remember going on the hunt for Lugia in GSC. Those were really good times.

Hoenn is my favorite region and so RSE were the games I played the most. I had a lot of fun doing everything in that game, including finishing the dex, beating all contests, and so on.

Sinnoh had really great mysteries to it and I enjoyed the heck out of them. I especially liked learning the tweaking glitch to get to Darkrai and Shaymin.

Exploring Unova's millions of nooks and crannies (I'm looking at you, Pinwheel Forest) was fun, as was genning like everything under the sun when I found out Pokegen was a thing.

Kalos made it so I enjoy breeding and raising Pokémon way more than actually battling. It gave me something to do in between VGCs and now I have boxes and boxes full of VGC-ready mons.

 

Just the adventure, y'know? The satisfaction of going through and beating everyone, finally actually being the very best, that no-one ever was (Especially not that darn Rival).

 

Being so happy with my Skiploom evolving into Jumpluff in Silver (that took forever since it's so weak) and throwing my GBC into the air from happiness. It didn't break, whew, but I got thrown back to a very old save file, before I even got the second badge. Had to hold in my weep. My poor kid self.

And of course, encountering a shiny Whismur in Sapphire! That was absolutely crazy as I had little idea what was going on. Too bad I don't have it anymore.

Mine was when I leveled an entire box of my favorite Pokémon to 100 in FRLG. It was such a good feeling back when I was a kid, but I've now realized how weak those Pokémon were lol.

 

Finally catching the roaming legendaries in Gen II! That took me so much time -_-

 

Beating the Elite Four on Pokémon Platinum.

I took them out and Cynthia in Diamond no problem, but I had trouble in Platinum for reasons unknown. My first attempt brought me all the way to Cynthia, who beat me pretty much right away. My second try ended up getting me killed at Lucian, I have no idea how.

I ended up leaving the game alone for a few months.

Then, when I came back, I beat them first try.
